Humanity is one of those things, these rollers like nauseus, have difficulties to understand.
Most of the people are good. Most of the people wish well to other human beings. Most of the people are willing to go extra mile to do so.
It might not be in your culture, but be assured, it's part of the most cultures.
I'm sure there will be others, like you, who will go against ideology of being kind to others. Oh.. evangib seems to have already replied.. I'm sure she is possessing her thoughts along with you.

This is pretty much the problem with the current UK government. They are populists and all they do is to talk sweet to their core supporters. Get Brexit done. Get No-deal done.
There never was any other agenda for this group of people. They never were ready to take responsibility of almost 70-million people they now lead.
This and samples from other parts of the world show how inept these populists are, when they are put to a real test, real crisis. All they do is talk their own agenda.
They are slow to react to the changes in the word. They are unable to create feasible action plans, how to cope with the new challenges. They are simply inept. They are inept, which have now been shown to the whole world.
Let's not allow these populist type of people, ever to gain positions of trust for the common people again.
At least, let's keep them in their bunkers for the next 20-30 years or more.

geeeeze ..... more bad news to sway the economies even lower if it gets out of hand.
Why is it bad news after bad news after really bad news lately ...... it becomes a bit much when economies and markets continue to falter. 2020 .... the worst year for a long time ....
Populist leaders, around the world, got in power around 2016. We are now experiencing their inept abilities to handle situations, which should not escalate to crisis.
They had their talks about problems, but don't have any solutions. This is what happens when populists get to power and it's not even close to be over yet. I hope we will survive.

Don't worry, I think you beat everyone else hands down on that front.
It seems hard for some people to gasp the idea that they are no longer powerful enough for making rules for others.
UK handled the covid situation poorly and EU countries do their duty and protect their people from the unclean ones. I'm sure UK would do the same, if the table was turned.

Sky news at night fringe dwellers doing their best to get a gig at the Fox News HQ by opening up as many ludicrous fronts in the culture wars as they can.
‘The PC socialists are coming for your culture!!!!!’
I guess if you are thin skinned, insecure and have an aversion to anything but what you see in the mirror, I guess it would resonate.
I have noticed this too. I don't watch the Sky News Australia on TV, but I do see their shows on Youtube.
At first I was thinking, can they really be related to the Sky News in UK as they really were Fox news of Australia.

I think it's sad that some of the grumpy, may I say, losers, who are supporting Putin style of destruction of Western way of life and it's unity, are still allowed to push their agendas here.
Yes, there are cracks how western people think, like there should be. People are allowed to say their minds, even if it annoys the heck out of others.
But what is not welcome, is the purposeful amplification effort to separate the people's minds, when they could actually find a common ground. That's the point where dark forces hit.
We know how to find a reasonable consensus between us. Let's not let the opposite to all of us, forces to lead us.

Americans are still children, when it comes to tolerating stronger views and tolerating sophisticated (they think raw) strong opinions about anything. They need more time to cope with life's realities. They'll get there eventually.
The indoctrination from the birth, during the fragile schooling years, does not help at all. Independent thinking is highly required, but that is available only for the best and the brightest. Those who are chosen to lead the nation, most often for their and their families personal gain.
It's unfortunate that this attitude is reflected and amplified by the social media.
What could be done differently?
Good, clear and free education, which doesn't prepare a person to become a good solder, would be a good start. Increase and lift independent thinking would be another. Teach the kids, to be really free, is to think really free.
Unfortunately many of the suppressive cultures don't like that kind of thinking. Many of those cultures and countries are now lead by incompetent populist leaders.
The same applies to the social media platforms. Those which let free speech to flourish, will eventually do well. Those which support bubbling, in the name of 'keeping peace', will not. But all this takes time for people to catch up, what these platforms are about.
It's time to wait and see.

NZ just got her first blowback from two people who travelled from UK to NZ and attended funerals. Two new covid cases after a long period of no cases at all.
It's best to keep the UK citizens separated from the rest of the population for now on.

Hmm, that’s a puzzler for sure..
Whoops. I wonder how many of these alt right, so called patriotic freedom fighters are able to see the difference and to how many of them the western countries are all just one blurry entity..somewhere out there in the west.

Let's never forget this. While there are differences, humanity prevails with the good people.

Good for Israelis, who wish to protest against Trump of the middle east.
It's a good reminder, while there are really nasty politicians leading the current state of Israel, there are also good people, who are against these right wing politicians.
I hope their voice are allowed to be heard in Israel. Their voices resonates better with the rest of the world, who actually wish peace to persist in their homes and around the world.

That doesn't help anymore. UK has officially left the EU and the way UK is now, it will take some time, before EU member countries wishes UK back. All of them have to agree for doing so.
In the near future. UK will split. Scotland will be given a fasttrack to join the EU.
England++ will have to figure out what it wishes to be in the future. If the model of England++ is still suitable to be part of the EU, then it can be allowed to join the EU, if it wishes.
Likelyhood for this to happen in the next 10 years is pretty much nill. After 20 years, perhaps, but it really depends where England++ is going towards.
The game is over.

NASCAR "wants to ban" the confederate flag? Minor oversight I'm sure, but NASCAR has banned the confederate flag from all events and properties. Good for them to be on the right side of history.
The post you quoted does not really work without the accompanied video, which was a good one.

Must be some mistake here. How can the Europeans be assured their bananas will have the correct regulation curvature?
UK is no longer part of the EU, so whatever UK does, it's UK's problem.
Most from EU will have free access EU -> UK next year.
Goods from UK -> EU will have customs inspections as EU countries are ready to do so.
UK just confirmed that it will not ask extension to transition period.

Finally there is a virtual wall for the USA.
Trump already made the wall surrounding his bunker.. er, the Whitehouse, which will keep lesser people away from him.
Things are going to the plan. The wall has been erected.
I guess nobody told Mr Trump that his wall became also his own prison.
