  1. I've had excellent char siu in many countries (the best in Sydney at a place where people queued for a 100 metres). But haven't found the good stuff here after trying half dozen places. Hence asking for a specific shop recommendation. I thought that was obvious.
  2. I've bought char siu from some takeaway shops but it's nearly always dry, not very tasty and looks like it's dyed with food colouring. Suggestions welcome.

  4. Title should read 'Chang Khlan', i have ADD 😁
  5. The blades keep slowing down to the point where i can nearly count the revolutions and then speeding up back to normal. After it started happening i took apart the fan and did a clean and lube. Improvement for a day or two but behaviour now back exactly as before. If the problem is a bearing in the fan i would expect a constant speed and some mechanical noise. Can the power in the building be the culprit? It's a modern block of units. I don't notice lights dimming or any fluctuations in supply.
  6. I'm assuming 30 day extentions can be done there? Also, does it tend to get less busy in the afternoons? Thanks
  7. I managed to find some holy basil and cilantro at Kham Thiang many years ago but that was it. Not practical for me to grow things from seed.
  8. You mean the Samsung on the north side of the moat? I didn't know they did electrical appliance repairs there, I thought it was just Electronics.
  9. Not your run of the mill question, I know. Viili is a type of cultured milk popular in the Nordic region and is similar to yoghurt or kefir. No luck finding any online. Will have a look around Rimping, but not hopeful.
  10. I've never tried to have electrical items repaired in Thailand, so no idea if it's practical or where to go. I have a Samsung convection microwave oven which is less than 10 years old and not too much use. When you turn it on, it runs like it's working but there is no heating produced. So I'm guessing that there's just a single part that's dead.
  11. I'd like to set up some raised beds for various vegetables for two reasons, protecting the plants from rabbits etc. and making it easier to tend the plants (sore back). If you've come up with your own raised bed solution, would love to see some photos.
  12. Ridiculous. What kind of message is this sending? From Sydney consulate website: On 16 October 2023, the Royal Thai Government has approved a unilateral and temporary tourist visa exemption scheme for holders of Russian passports or travel documents, entering the Kingdom of Thailand from 1 November 2023 to 30 April 2024, to be able to stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 90 days. This temporary arrangement aims to facilitate Russian tourists travelling to Thailand and to enhance people-to-people ties between Thailand and Russia.

    Bread

I usually order a month's supply of ingredients online and because it's Thailand, delivery is super cheap. However, I hear you need to go out and buy flour, yeast and bread improver every time you bake, if you're a professional forum troll.
  14. Would be much appreciated. I think they close the office for lunch. Access is via the soi that corners the building and Thapae rd. You drive up the ramp and the office is immediately to your right.
