  1. I can only tell you about Chiang Mai and reports on Thaivisa from several other areas of Thailand and that they are now requiring the blood test for syphilis. Did mine recently and brought the standard 'you're breathing, ok finished' type of certificate and it was refused and a letter outlining the requirements handed to me. Never required before.

It cost 200 Baht to do it - 100 for the Doctor and 100 for the lab work on the blood.

Thanks for that ,I'll get the blood test done to be sure.

Bangkok Pattaya hospital it is then I reckon ....

  2. Turn off everything in your house and have a look and see if the meter is still turning.

Then throw the main switch if you have one and check again.

I once had a worker camp shack tap into my garden lights with nails and twisted wire !!

    Hope this helps

Just tried this ..turned everything off and the meter stopped !! Maybe you know a good Farang electrician who could come and check out the wiring and maybe test the appliances to see whats eating so much power?

Try Checking again at night when someone is more likely to be using lights or cooking .

  3. I stumbled across samsungdive.com wich says it's Samsungs mobile tracking and remote phone wipe service.

Set up an account no problem but after logging in there are only 3 phones listed and my cooper isn't one of them.

Any body got this working on a Android ?

  4. Morning , For the last 2 days I've not been able to get to the forums via my saved bookmarks.

After further investigation it turns out I can get to every forum from the main TV home page except the Samui forum. Also the forum link (little guy with mega phone) doesn't work for me .

Is this just me having this problem ?

  5. Thanks for all the info posts so far ,

I can find 13 kva(10kw) Briggs & stratton gens on the net in USA for 3000 USD (95 k Baht )

I'm happy to look at chinese stuff if someone can point me in the right direction.

looks like the search may have to continue in Bankok

    Thanks

  6. 26sq.m. is a cell. have you seen the actual individual chanotes? i know first hand that bigger, nicer, beach front "condos" that have sold units and not been able to produce individual chanote deeds for the buyers. the land office here does not like condos. i know people that have paid millions of baht under the table in order to encourage and speed along the condo process and were left empty handed.

Have to agree with you about the size, not my idea of a long term living space.

To be fair to the developer there is an explanation of the condo/deed procedure printed at the bottom of the large bill board on the site.

More upfront info than i've ever seen before on a samui project of any kind.

How accurate it is I have no idea

  7. Looking for a small 13KVA back up generator.

Been to Kee Hin but their selection was limited and seemed expensive to me .

Can anyone suggest a place in Phuket or Bangkok with a better selection.

Or a Thai website , my web searches are only bringing up large skid mounted industrial stuff.

    Thanks

  8. All the good view units are sold out, this is either great pre luanch sales or a way of holding back the good stuff untill the build begins and prices can be increased.

(Foriengers can only have 40% of the project for condo status if i remember rightly ?)

26 sq meters is very small.

Add a bed and bathroom and it's basically a very small hotel room and not my idea of a condo.

That said, I've friends who have purchesd similar units in HuaHin and are very happy as the unit size and price suits their purpose as a holiday apparment for weekends etc

Value is how much someone is willing to pay I guess

  9. @livinginexile

Who are the engineers who designed the foundations , i'm hoping a reputable firm with much experience in this type of thing ?

Any idea what the plan for sewage is , can soak away cesspits be used on such an incline ?

Eco-ID. Actually all sub-structures are earth quake proof!

The waste water treatment plant is world class and excedes International standards.

ALL soil/waste is treated and re-used for irrigation.

Not one drop of untreated water touches the ground.

Actually this development is THE most eco friendly on the whole island.

The potable water supply to all buildings excedes WHO recommendations and can be drunk straight from the tap!

Sounds like you/they've got all their ducks in a row on the important bits.

It's not my idea of pretty but each to his own I guess

  10. Tops second road, has a small stand selling them. Big new BB range, third road north (tucked a few yards away from the road) virtually opposite the golf driving range has all you want. Look for the sign on the road
