Daily News picture Thai caption: He didn't listen to doctor's orders Police and rescue services were called to a house in the Warin Chamrap jurisdiction of Ubon Ratchathani in Thailand's north east, after the death of a man. Kriangkrai Chartmontree, 51, was dead in a downstairs room. There were five large and small bottles of Lao Khao (white spirit) by the body. There were no signs of a struggle or foul play. Kriangkrai's wife said that her husband was home with two blind dogs while she went to work as a motorcycle taxi driver reported Daily News. He usually spent all day getting paralytic despite the doctor telling him not to. She was concerned when she arrived home and the dogs didn't come out for the food she brought. And the house was locked. So she went round the side and saw the light on and poked her husband with a bamboo pole inserted through the window and got no response. She didn't blame the vaccine second dose he got a couple of days ago - she blamed the booze. 25. Picture: Siam Rath The Royal Thai Police spokesman has warned the Thai people not to criticize the force. Or you'll get thrown in jail for a year for defamation, reported Siam Rath. Pol Maj-Gen Yingyot Thepjamnong said that the RTP were doing an absolutely wonderful job solving crime, investigating wrong doing and generally catching the bad guys. But when they did all this - helping their "phee nong" (Thai brothers and sisters) at every turn - they were facing criticism for all their extremely hard work and spirited self sacrifice. Much of the bad mouthing came from criminals that were arrested, he noted. But the increasing prevalence to blame the RTP for everything was spawning copycat behavior. And this has to stop - period. He warned people about Article 136 regarding defaming civil servants. This law means on successful prosecution you can face a year in jail and/or a fine of 2,000 baht. There have been many prosecutions, said the Maj-Gen. He urged the Thai public to stop blaming the force for everything and let the RTP get on with their job. He gave out the 191 and 1599 phone numbers so that the Thai public could help his comrades do their job.
