I don't drink alcohol, except a glass of wine for dinner. But when other people are choosing to drink heavily, it's not my business, up to them.

I'm 80. Eat supplements, eat healthy food, stopped smoking and drinking alcohol.
Go sauna every second day.
Still working in share trading.
But I hate to get older. Fortunately my wife is 42 years younger and don't care about my age at all.
Resume : To get old sucks!

Don't know, if I'm only a lucky guy, but living in Manila since 2001, never had any bad experience. Before the pandemic I also used to enjoy the night life, but there it's up to you, if you will get screwed by a lady of the night.

Whatever people are saying here, visa agents are an "institution" in Thailand and working hand in hand with the Immigration and Bangkok bank since many, many years. If you are over 50 and don't have the required financial resources, then use an agency.
Without this agents, Pattaya would be very empty!!

Actually Metro Bank very flexible. They issued a CC card for wife without any income.
I would call them and ask, if
A) the transfer is possible and
B) how to solve the card problem.

1997 here we come.
There will be not another 1997. The situation is quite different.
I know, because in 1997 I lost several million Baht when the stock market overheated and finally crashed. The big finance company in which I was invested had to shut down, together with several other ones. Bad memories! ????

Falangs living in Pattaya have so many options to get a reliable agent to do their visa without having any money in the bank.

If she would be married to a Swiss, she would receive 80% of the amount of his pension.

300 Baht should be really not a big problem. And Thailand a dangerous place? Less dangerous than the US or some European countries.

During my time in Thailand, this lawyer office helped me a lot to solve business problems as well private matters. Good relations to the Immigration also. Fair prices.

Why all this fuss with documents, visiting immigration, waiting... Hand over your passeport to an immigration agent and your visa / extension is done. ????????
But congratulations to your visa extension ????

Vaccinated + 2 boosters. Didn't have.
Member of wife's family including her were infected. Mild symptoms, more like a flu.
