While this crime victim has no doubt acted very foolishly, I am not ready to disrespect him. Scam artists can be remarkably skilled. We all have human weaknesses and some people are masters at exploiting them. I myself have been scammed a few times in my life and one of the times was over a potential love interest. Both were in the U.S. and the total damage for both was about 500 USD. Very minor compared to this case, but the experiences made me a less trusting person. It sounds like this man has been seriously damaged from this scam and I hope he can recover from it.
Agree totally it’s easy to condemn him as a fool. But being handicapped he was probably more vulnerable than some. There are some low con artists out there. But from my own observations the percentage of good relationships far outweigh the ones that end in tragic circumstances like this one.

how is domestic travel different from international about spreading or not the fake pandemic & the 14 day quarantine need ???
Are we discussing the fake pandemic that’s killed 383,000 people so far.?Domestic travel doesn’t need 14 day quarantine now maybe because you’re already here so the risk of bringing it in from another country is eliminated.

You might think again a bit, too. Most of the new condos you mentioned are being built far from Walking Street and the 'sex scene'. One of the latest announced, Arom Wongamat, will be a huge 50 story plus super luxury project with both hotel and condos right on Wong Amat Beach. It will join Zire, Northpoint, The Cove, Riviera Wong Amat, Wong Amat Tower, The Palm, and Baan Plai Haad among other upscale projects that have been built there in the past few years. Ditto for lots of big projects in Jomtien and other areas, as well.
Cape Dara will be joined by Grande Centre Point 2, as well as a number of new boutique hotels like Cosi and LK Emerald Beach that have gone in recently. Mytt Beach Hotel, a big, new hotel in north Pattaya, has the Vertical Ballroom which can seat 1000 people for events like weddings and large meetings. The Ozo Hotel, yet another new hotel in north Pattaya, has a very visible children's play area by the pool as you drive by it. Most of this new development is not being powered by the 'sex scene'.

I spent 2 days in Pattaya a few years back I must add that was 1 1/2 days too long. The only thing I found interesting at all was Walking Street at night.

The one where people die from the pandemic denial that supposedly isn’t happening. And before you garble on about how there’s not many deaths here think about WHY maybe because of the stringent measures undertaken and continue to be enforced by Thai authorities that’s interrupting your very important lifestyle stop complaining and roll with it eventually it will be gone.
Sorry BKK Brian which part is confusing you. The part after The one ?

They can keep their country. So many other countries to live in
that are not anti westerner in every way, shape and form. By the way do
you qualify for subsidized holidays by thai government? Of course not, you
are a westerner. Same situation a few years ago when only thais could buy new
vehicles tax free. What does it take?
You’re actually berating a country for putting its own citizens before the whims and needs of Western people (foreigners) settle down get a grip.

History has it that a trading ship from India came to the Gulf of Thailand in 1898 and on board was a quantity of concrete blocks which was traded for jewellery and yellow metal. After the trading ship sailed away the village people all took some of the blocks but after boiling and frying them for 4-5 days found they were still too hard to eat with rice so a rogue soldier deserter from the island of Crete named Con said “I can’t eat that you could build a house with that.” And from that day on Con from Crete was appointed official builder the local Thais struggled with pronouncing Con from Crete so they just shortened it to Concrete hope this helps with your research.
