    Varies.

    2018 more desirable than 2016.

Prefer farang owned as farang can afford to change oil.

Hey Papa, I saw your previous post about depreciation.  I ran a regression on a bunch of NMAX from 2015-2019 and found it to be:

    Per Year (linear): -2500B

    Per KM: -.34B/km

I assume the initial 20% kicker already was taken out.

Here's the average prices I found.  2018 is probably the sweet spot but I think if I can find a 2019 w under 10000km for about 55000B that's what I'm going to buy.  Good tip on the Falang owner for oil changes.

    2015 2016 2017 2018 2019
    38071 42378 49084 52316 57533

Looks like they lost about 5000/year no matter which year they are so might as well get the newest you can afford as presumably maintenance will be less.

To put the Aerox 4.6l gas tank and fuel consumption into perspective, the Aerox will give you an average 160kms-190kms on 1 tank of fuel....thats fine with me, but i understand it might be an issue for some on long long trips, of which the Aerox wasn't really designed for.

I just did the Mae Hong Song loop on an Aerox rented from Chiang Mai.  That fuel tank is so tiny, I'd have to fill up at every gas station.  Almost empty to full was 80B.

Is something like this still available from an AIS store or would I need to get it from Lazada?

    AIS_10mbs_unlimited.jpg

    How to use this:

    1. Take a photo of this promo

    2. Go to AIS Store

    3. Show them the photo of the promo.

    4. Buy a new SIM (you can't apply this to a SIM that has already loaded a plan, say these Lazada SIMS).

    5. Let the staff do all the work

    6. Show your passport for registration

I did in at an AIS center took about 15 minutes. You can also get your own sim and apply the codes yourself but since you need to buy a new SIM anyway, its just easier to have the AIS folks sort it out for ya.

Regarding missing reload for AIS: I missed my reload and added credit the next day and  and it renewed no problem.  I got another SIM for a month that I did not renew and its still messaging me to add 300B to continue the unlimited plan, so I suspect you can top up late to continue as long as you don't get another plan

The NMAX is quite cheaper than the PCX for the same year (ie: 2018 45,000฿ vs 65,000฿).

    Looking for all advices!

Where are you finding 45000B for a  2018 NMAX?  I'm also looking to get one but they look to be closer 55k.   There are a few cheap ones that have a ton of km's, but when you figure "1B/km" depreciation, that can be a bad deal.

It's normal. It will auto-renew for up to twelve months, so will check for credit over some days before giving up. Worst case you reapply the original code to revive. But usually adding credit will do it.

Mr. Eindhoven, where do you learn all this?  You should run a shop for all of us falang to buy our stuff from! Start a ThaiSim.com blog? Make some money on ads and selling SIM cards.  I'd be a buyer.

  6. Well I had the 200B 10MBPS plan and forgot to load 200B. Just loaded it after getting an SMS that there wasn't enough credit.  Will it still renew or have I lost it?  I think its gone right? ????  Oops.  And now I have 200B I can't use.

I got another phone the other day and AIS has a 200B, 10MPBS, 32GB limit.  So almost the same just limited to 32GB which I only exceeded once when I was tethering my laptop.

EDIT: After adding the 200B, it deducted credit and renewed the policy 10 mins later.  Rather nice of them!

Hi, I haven't read all so not sure if you know it already, but all the promotions can be found on this website:

    https://specphone.com/web/new-unlimited-internet-10mbps/291056

It seems to always be updated with new promotions ?

Yeah that site had a good write-up but the promos expired June 24.  There's a #Unlimited that I made a link for:

    https://specphone.com/topics/%e0%b9%80%e0%b8%99%e0%b9%87%e0%b8%95%e0%b9%84%e0%b8%a1%e0%b9%88%e0%b8%88%e0%b8%b3%e0%b8%81%e0%b8%b1%e0%b8%94

But doesn't show any newer plans.

I tried to get the AIS 4MBPS 32GB for 160B today.  She upsold me to a 10MBPS 32gb for 200b.  Not as good as my unlimited 10MPBS but I can't see me going thru 32gb on my second phone. No idea what the code is, you'd have to ask.

Booked to go from CNX to DMK 1st thing in the morning (for a mid-day doctor's appt) and return the following day in late afternoon.  Outbound flight was changed to arrive in Bangkok around 3PM, which makes my appt impossible.  Although early morning flights were still available when I received the notice re-booking one way cost 4000B+ because it no longer qualified for the 21 day advance.  The rules also state that more than 3 no-shows for previously booked flights will result in being disqualified from the promotion.

    Unfortunate...

So were the flight times changed or the actual flight numbers?  Yeah I have the promo too.  They screwed my name up so I couldn't book flights, took 3 weeks to fix.  I should probably go and book a few.

Your experience gives me caution, especially about booking "quick turn" flights.  Usually airlines have a policy that if a flight changes more and 3-4 hours you can rebook times/dates free of charge but with AirAsia....lolz.   Can you cancel the flight, or is not taking it (and eating one of the three "misses") the only option?  Any other threads on the airAsia unlimited?

    4mbps is trash..

Finn Mobile has 699 baht/month unlimited data at FULL speed plus UNLIMITED regular calls.

Have had Finn Mobile for the last two years (I'm not on unlimited plan but I save 50% compared to my old AIS SIM) and cannot complain at all.

If ya need 100MBPS, then yeah that's a great deal. *If* is works at your location.  Sounds like it does for you.

I still think the AIS 10MBPS for 200B (inclusive of taxes) is the best deal around.  I don't really have a need for higher than 10MBPS on my phone.  I lived 3 weeks using it to tether my laptop and it was just fine as well.  I know the difference is only 500B but that 500B goes a long way in Thailand! ????

Fortunately for me, I use my "google voice" USA number for WhatsApp so I'm never married to a phone number and switch up SIMs whenever a sexier plan comes around.  Love this thread for the latest on the cheapest!

Volunteer visas are now becoming popular in Pattaya, cost approx 50k for a year but can be done without leaving the country...expensive but an option

Any more info on these?  What are some reputable agencies in Pattaya to check on for this, or are recommendations not permitted on the forum?  I found one online in Chiang Mai but no idea if its legitimate or a scam.  Its 18k/3mo and 38k/12mo,

As you state that AIS confirmed you can buy it directly from them, can you post the details of the 8-10Mbps offer that is available direct from AIS?

    Pricing and description.

    Thank you.

the AIS 10MBPS unlimited for 200B/month has been discussed at least 4 times in the past month on this thread.  Take a look thru the thread for more info.

I may still move to True but I'd prefer to avoid having 3 sims, currently i have 2, 1 Thailand and 1 UK. My current 1mbps AIS is giving 72mbps

Are you connected to wifi by chance when you're running these speed tests?:)  These companies don't just give away fast bandwidth.

The codes for AIS are shown within post #274.

    DTAC 10 Mbps *104*682# 200 baht

    Truemove H 10 Mbps *900*9979# 200 baht

    AIS 10 Mbps *777*968# 200 baht

Can confirm the AIS package still works I got it 2'ish weeks ago.  The only trick from what I read is that you must activate that package pretty much with a new SIM.

Didn't know the codes for DTAC, that would have made life easier as I had (and then ditched!) DTAC.  Thanks for sharing.

I use the 200baht unlimited 10mb package. I share the connection with a WISP router hosting 2 other phones, a Roku, and a laptop.

Does Personal Hotspot on iPhone work with AIS?  I have DTAC and it says no hotspots but it still works.  I'm thinking to switch for the 250B if I can find an open store as the Condo I'm about to move into apparently has crappy wifi for 200B/week, but would hate to throw away the money if there's no hotspot.  I have a travel wifi router but it doesn't have cellular/SIM-card.

Go to service provider, buy a SIM and get them to apply the package.

Someone might post the codes if you are lucky.

    • max 4 Mbps: 150 THB, activation: *777*967*306650#
    • max. 10 Mbps: 200 THB, activation: *777*968*306650#

Got the details from this site, they have the best info on Thai SIMs I can find.  Update it if you can as its a wiki.
