Eight years ago my GF had three  implants done in a government clinic  @ 40K THB each, totaling  120K THB.    Never once a problem with any of them since day one.     No way was I gong to go the cheaper bridge route and sacrifice the two adjacent healthy  teeth to replace a bad one.

Six years ago at a very modern clinic in Issan I was quoted 9K Baht for a root canal.   The dentist said it would take three visits but to my pleasant surprise at the end of the second visit he said  was finished with the procedure.       I should add the procedure was 100% painless.

Added to that surprise, the final cost was 7K instead of 9K THB originally quoted.

Sliding downhill for the rest of your life is no way to live.

That would depend a lot on how far you have to slide.

Also the OP doesn't mention if his friend  will have any kind of income rentals,  dividends or interest from banks and etc.

He mentions the SS system and free government hospitals.     Where would that be?

  3. I haven't tried Tops yet since the location next to Bed and bath was demolished but I've been to all the other Falang stores I know in Pattaya.    (Friendship, Villa, Food Mart, Foodland)    Macro used to have a large stock of the tomato soup and I was confident I'd find it there when I shopped Macro today.

While the Campbell soup was in the same place I remember it being a few years ago there was nary a can of tomato soup to be found.

Axios provided a copy of the released documents in a PDF form.   (long but searchable)

In the past my searching for Epstein speaking produced very little results.    I only found a short deposition where he walked out after he was asked  a question  about his penis.

Certainly there is ZERO chance that media representation is going to make most people gay and interfere with human reproduction -- to assert that is PARANOID and INSANE.

I agree fully.     To even mildly assert that gays could have a deleterious impact on future generations is beyond insane.       I think the ignorance it shows is  incalculable.         :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I'll ignore the 'if you've spent any time in Thailand at all - odds are I've been here longer than you... not that it matters as a point scoring exercise -

You are welcome to ignore or not ignore my comment.   This is an anonymous forum and everyone is free to offer his or her opinion.     You  are fully entitled to disagree with me however your opinion doesn't necessarily have any more or less validity than mine.

I'm curious as to what makes you think your presence in Thailand is greater  or longer than mine.    :coffee1:

When scammers are out there, of any kind....   Do you consider it best we just forget it, ignore it, don't worry about it, even if we are scammed...     Or do think it would better if these things were reported so the police have an opportunity to do something about it ?

We still don't need to get worked up about it.. but IMO, its still best to report it so something can or could be done about the issue.

If you spent any time at all in Thailand you should know the police aren't going to  bother with a trifling crime of 5,000 Baht involving a falang.    They may take a report but unless tea money is forthcoming nothing  further will develop.

The New Bangkok airport has long term parking, but there is no shade at all. For some reason they don't have those poles with netting that seems to be used just about everywhere to protect your car from the sun.

If I were to park my Toyota Vigo there each time I go to the UK for 2 weeks, would the sun damage it. As I write this I think I am being a bit too 'protective' of a pick up truck, but still I like to look after things if I can and the saving on parking fees for the covered short term parking over 2 weeks is only about 2000 baht!

Getting a taxi from Pattaya is even easier, but they drive like maniacs!

I have one of those silver plastic covers, does that protect from the sun or is is just to keep it clean.

    Thanks for any advice.

I understand your feelings about the average taxi  driver driving unsafely but there is a solution.

    https://www.namstaxipattaya.com/

Nam's taxi service consists of 20 - 25 ladies and you cannot go wrong using their service.     I personally would suggest requesting Yuri as your driver.      She has a very new Toyota Camry she uses and it is pure luxury.      Yuri, who has driven me on a number of occasions,  acts more like a personal assistant than a taxi driver.

Driver  (Yuri) always  shows up  early  and I always got to my destination on time.    She speaks excellent English.

Yuri is the lady in  the front row, third from the left.       She's a genuine sweetheart.      Make your reservation by email and it will be confirmed quickly  by email.      yuri.webp.7c5486c29d5ced01f81df6aa67da3521.webp

But if he is still here. WU has passport number. They can track him down, maybe lock the bank account till get my money back.

You'd be best off to just forget the incident and loss of your  5,000 Baht.        Just use it as a learning tool and move on.

Assuming that wasn't all the money you had, head  to the nearest pub and order a pint or two to forget your worries.

I hope she feels real proud of herself.

We've all made mistakes at one time or other in our lives.       Just maybe she actually was sleepy.       I know there have been times in the past where due to being sleepy I probably shouldn't have been driving.

    Anyone her faultless?

They are going to mail you the card to a Thai address?

Yet, they blocked the card because there is an issue with a banking system in Thailand?

Yep, I bet you never see your "replacement" card.

I wish you had put your money where your mouth is and made that bet with me because the card is sitting in its DHL envelop on my desk in front of me.

YOu better try again with other nonsense.
