  1. Do any of the experts know how long a TM-47 by mail takes to process these days? (Chaeng Wattana) I mailed mine in on 04 Dec. Due date was 19 Dec. I would think that this could be turned around in a month's time but I've yet to receive a receipt of notification. Also, there's a deadline for posting - "at least 15 days before the due date of notification". However, I have never seen anything about how early you can submit by mail? I target 29 days before the due date but I wonder exactly how early one could submit via mail. Is for example 89 days possible?
  2. Cancel the contract with immediate effect? That sounds like PR posturing. The next thing you know there will be a batch of lawsuits and counter lawsuits. Then there's the election. Who will come out on top? What changes will they push through? These projects will be stalled for a decade. Idle construction equipment will create traffic bottlenecks. Only Somchai Q Public will be harmed in the long run as he tries in vain to commute to work through an abandoned construction site. And by the way, who is going to inspect all the private construction project sites that have ITD as the general contractor? Probably nobody.
  3. IMHO, someone from ITD should have been in jail a long time ago.
  4. You are correct. Had to go out today so I took my passport. I tried to top up my rabid card at Surasak BTS. (As I said, I had already provided the BTS with my PP number just a few months ago when I had to get a replacement card issued.) I had a lovely conversation with the Surasak staff (not exactly but she was very nice). She seemed to be saying there was a new system or a system upgrade or something of that nature. Whatever. My PP number is not showing up now. She assured me that this would be a one time thing, not every time you want to add value to the rabid card. She tried to register me on two different machines. Took a very long time. No luck. Instructed me to go to the Phaya Thai station. (Same advice as some reported in the other thread.) All of this for a stored value card. So, getting back to my original question - Do Thai citizens also have to go through this nonsense? I doubt it or the lines at the ticket windows woud be extremely long.
  5. Not true. I had already registered my rabbit card. This is some new campaign and I’m not sure why. They did this before and then put a stop to it. I’ve no idea why the campaign has been reactivated.
  6. I have a credit card sized photocopy of my PP that is always in my wallet. Just in case. Never needed it.
  7. I am wondering if Thai citizens need to show their ID and have it registered simply in order to top up their BTS / Rabbit Card. It’s a minor annoyance because I don’t usually carry my passport around.
  8. What is missing from all of these daily news articles is a year to year comparison. Did accidents, injuries, or deaths increase or decline vs. the prior year? If they didn’t decline I would assume the campaign and increased enforcement didn’t have much of an effect. I drove quite a lot between the 31st and the 4th and I saw no sign of improved driving skills on Thailand’s highways.
  9. OP is missing just one minor detail. 🤦‍♂️
  10. Anyone have any recommendations for ad blocking software for macOS machines? Because the number of advertising pop ups and windows on this site make it practically unusable. ????
