Something similar happened at the new krung tep train station to me. I went out to the taxi area and they wanted 600 baht to Don Mueng airport. I booked a grab for 280. When the grab showed up. 2 of the taxi guys started arguing with him and he just left. So I walked over to the other side of the station and rebooked. Same guy came a got me.

It’s called wake and bake ???? lots of people do -
They could generate a sizeable income stream if they just did their job. If they actually enforced traffic rules and actively patrolled they could not only collect fines for DUI, reckless driving, speeding, no helmet, no license, driving the wrong way ect and also make the roads much safer. But I guess that’s too much actual work.

Never have I seen an American put ketchup on their pizza. So wrong on this one. Here is a real pizza
-
In my opinion and many others I know (mostly Americans) I would take American style pizza anytime over Italian. The Italian places near me out so little toppings on the pizza (extra salame gets you 1 1/2 pieces of salami on each piece instead of 1). at least Americans load the toppings on the pizza. And oh ya serve it with some ranch. Can’t beat that!

ok ya buddy i'm sure you know this haha I lived in koh Tao on and off for 10 years with 2 businesses there. First i'll tell you never have I or anyone I know been approached by the so called "Mafia" or police asking for money or any other type of extortion. Never any problems with safety for me and my family. Now its sad that he died, i know him in passing but not personally. So the "paramedics" that showed up would be koh tao rescue. The head medic is a women from England. There is also another western medic who works with them. The head medic was friends with Neil, so even if she wasn't on the call to respond she would know exactly what was found and investigated at the scene. No way no how would any of these people be "in on the coverup". And yes his body was sent for an Autospy. And another topic i see here is about dive instructors being very fit. Let me tell you, many instructors drink and party daily, then go diving in the morning. Many i would classify as alcoholics, start drinking beers as soon as they are back from the afternoon dives and continue on into the night at the beach bars. Neil, i don't know how he lived his life so i cant comment to that.

Yes but common sense doesn’t seem to be a strong area for the police and immigration In 2017 immigration police did a sweep of where I live. I was picking up some stuff I ordered for my home from the cargo boat with my salang. The immigration police happened to be there and stopped me and asked what was I doing getting all this stuff. I told them it was for my home. They insisted I was working for somewhere. I said I have a company and work permit but this is not for my office. Then they tried telling me I couldn’t be loading stuff up from the boat and be a transport driver, why aren’t my Thai staff doing it ect. I ended up having to call my Thai business partner who talked to them a few min then they finally walked away. Another thing they did is strictly only checked foreigner owned businesses. Any Thai food place or some of the big resorts owned by Thais had nothing checked. But any hostel, small guesthouse that had a foreigner on the company all got checked, most of them fined for something they thought of and almost all the hostels were shut down for having no hotel license or a Thai hotel manager with the qualifications to be one (a degree in hotel management)

Meanwhile the tourist police came by one of my newly opened shops and asked for a monthly “donation” to keep it “safe” -
That's amazing! Farang given a lesson in divining numbers for the lottery
dkg224 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Couple years ago me and a friend carved a 15 into a banana tree right on the corner to the entrance of my girlfriends village in Buriram. anyway word got out about the divine magical number that appeared so just about everyone in the village bought up all lottery tickets ending in 15 and 15 in other tickets. End of the story. 15 didn’t win -
Guess depends where you do it then. In Samui and Chumphon you do need to bring your own vehicles for the test. And you need to do a small drive test with your car also
-
You don’t need an agency. Go to the nearest land transportation office with your passport, work permit or if your on another long term visa (don’t think you can with a tourist visa) and sign up. It’s a 2 day course, first day simple motor skills tests and 50 question computer test. next day driving test behind the building. - need your own vehicle - wear long pants (sometimes won’t let you in the building without pants on)

Question: about new WP rules
dkg224 replied to lexlam's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They created a digital nomad visa or long term residence visa. For people who work independently online. I’m not exactly sure but to qualify it’s something like making over $80,000 dollars a year. -
They have an office in LA and in Bangkok i believe. I was only shipping stuff to Thailand so my sister would drop it at the office in LA she lived just near it.

I’ve never heard anyone else say this besides my girlfriend. She is from the north, they like to say southern Thai people eat rocks because of this road building scheme. She worked for a large construction company and she told me this exact thing about the contractor taking government money for roads and doing a half-ass job with less material then a year later getting a contact to fix the road again.

I’ve used Rama Inter shipping many times to send large boxes from the US to Thailand. They also send from here to the US. Way way cheaper than using DHL or UPS. Its about $75 for a large 50-75 pound box I think. But they ship by container boat so it takes about a month and a half

Poll shows most Thais unable to earn enough to make ends meet
dkg224 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Well no s**t. Why did they even need to run a poll to see this. Just go to any village in Thailand and see how most of the people there live. Basically almost live as hunter gatherings getting some shrub branches here and insects there, rice paddy crabs and snails. but like someone said they still find money to buy the lottery number they dream about and you forgot about buying Lao Khao. That’s an important one -
This is a sad story but it’s not just happening in this bar. I know for a fact there is a 16yr old and 17yr old girl working a bar in Hua Hin. The girls family lives across the street from my wife’s family up in the issan village. Also my wife’s distant just turned 17yr old cousin has been working there at soi 7 in Bangkok for the past year. some are there voluntarily but I’m sure many of the youngest ones have basically been sold by their more than poor families to the bar owner. There’s a guy who lives near me now that the girl staying with him was a go go dancer in Pattaya since her teens. He paid 200,000 to the owner and her family to get her out of the go-go bar. Well seems like I know too much, I forgot the police before said there was no prostitution going on in Thailand

When I was in College I lived in Reno which never closed, the casinos are open 24hr. Me and my friends quite often started drinking Friday night and didn’t stop until Sunday afternoon. We used to call them 40 rolls. Sure some things got broken, shenanigans happened but nobody every got arrested. Guess some people just can’t handle a 40 roll!

Actually it’s about cheap good weed right? That’s what the title says. I was just trying to help people out with quality at good prices. yes I see people posting cheaper stuff on here but in my opinion, just my thought, most looks like garbage. Brown, poor bud structure, doubt it’s dried and cured properly, and it’s hardly trimmed. If people want it that’s fine for some. But I know there are lots of people who would like good quality product without feeling like they are getting ripped off. like a guy from Bangkok told me last night about our selection, “this would cost 700 or more a G in Bangkok”
