Oh, how lovely now, more Chinese tourists, warms the cockles of my heart.
Fantastic: just what everyone in Thailand wants. Hoards of Chinese buying up condo's in Thailand. OR is is Chiland. Been to many restaurants and when there are groups of Chinese around the buffet they bring bags to nick the eggs, sweet potatoes and what ever they can fleece. Unbelievable.

I never said I was highly moral or even good. Simply I do not commit crimes on purpose.
Criminal records should be checked for all not just a few visa types like OA.
Let the Thais decide who to let in in the first place. Those who have done porridge or been arrested and fined for a number of anti-social offenses that define the criminal lifestyle in their own country are due a bit of scrutiny are they not?
Quote: 'My country is full of anti-social useless lowlifes' How do you know that ???? Seems a rather brash statement. Why don't you just let the host country decide on whom they will allow in. And I'm sure they already do. In some countries it's possible to get a criminal record for running a red light. Is that valid reason for barring a person into a country? Bye now. Don't bother replying as I wont read it. Not interested in sanctimony.

Sex workers not be "stigmatised by society " ?
Heck I thought it was readily accepted by Thai society...even encouraged??
BTW, I am all in to legalise sex workers wherever they are.
And, I can't stand any woman controlled and abused by scum pimps. Legalisation would give them some hope and safety.
So you are ok with their husbands and boyfriends being punished ? They are their pimps and the scum.

Bravo to the Red card proposal!
My country is full of anti-social useless lowlifes. I have read 30 percent plus males have an arrest record and we cant get rid of them either. This is not about Thais. Entering Thailand is a privilege for Foreigners not a right. More should can be done to keep out foreign crims in the first place by requiring criminal record checks but off course foreign scofflaws and trouble makers should be sanctioned of re-entry to the Kingdom.
Interesting !!! And where do YOU lie on this spectrum between being highly moral and a low life ???

Just borrowing another fantastic idea from CCP, what's next? Social credits for Thais??
Yep !! Big brother Xi will be bristling with joy. As soon as they start to remove cash and install millions of security cameras that will be your cue to vamoose as quickly as possible. This 'new' law is ridiculous. Has anyone of these moronic officials discovered it's hurts most when you hit someone with a fine.

COVID is deemed to be with us always - in one mutated form or another.
Just as all rhino or rna viruses are.
Why don't you take your negativity away with you. Of course Einstein. It goes without saying. So let's move on. Most of us have been cheated of three productive years - and millions will never be back. Thanks to someone that handed this virus to us on a not so silver platter.

Maybe he only got 'caught' because he wasn't willing to divest some of the ill gotten booty in the form of a brown envelope to someone else higher up. I doubt this sort of thing is done in isolation.

Bitcoin and the likes challenge that.
Bitcoin and the likes are electronic currency . No physical currency SO it's subject to the same intrusion to cashless. Also, it's a way of losing your money overnight.

The truth of the matter is that, it's only 300 baht. Some people will make noise and express outrage, which will quickly pass, because it's only 300 baht.
Yes, indeed... after all it's less than a couple of beers.

The world is becoming a cashless society, most people can get by with a smartphone.
If everyone used Bitcoin, it would save issues like this. Thailand is ahead of many Western companies in this regard, with SCB using blockchain tech for cross border transactions.
Cashless society means without doubt ... governments and banks and others have you exactly by the ba**s. The world doesn't need to meekly bow to the authorities to allow a cashless society.

They started off low. There is ample room to increase it year on year.
And it's a little bit here, a little bit there as new ideas in govt how to extract more from the public. It all adds up to a lot.
Well the solution for you and others that don't approve what the government has done and are fearful of the ?? future unknown increases is...... wait for it......drum roll....'don't go to Thailand'. Simple
And if you don't go there will be 25 million (minus yourself) that will go. Don't quibble about nothing.

We’re is your line between measly & too much ? $100 (dollar) ??
The irritation with such policies is not the amount but the message, the tone levied towards tourist by greedy officials…
We want your money & don’t care about anything else…
Well in response, you want to go to Bali ?? then you will pay $50 for visa on arrival (it used to be free). If the destination serves your need then 10 bucks is a storm in a teacup. The officials are not being greedy. Now if the fee was say 100,200,300,400 $$ then yes 'maybe' that would initiate a re-think.

I guess you don't live in Pattaya, Hua Hin, or Phuket - many tourists.
Not all are alcoholics wanting to drink at 7 am.
Well simply put, will a measly 300b coerce travelers to go elsewhere? I think not. It's about 10 measly bucks for goodness sake. Like pi**ing in a huge bucket - you wouldn't even notice it.

This will go smoothly at Swampy I'm sure.
Great idea I reckon. Particularly if it's used for insurance purposes. Let's face it 300B will barely cover the cost of a beer or lady drink.

Maybe the punishment should be meted out according to the severity of the 'crime' according to Thai law. eh??

So you are okay with a school director stealing lunch money from the kids in is school? Of course palm greasing is nothing new, but in Thailand it seems to have become a sport to see who can sink the lowest and think of the most disgusting ways to steal money from people, even if they’re just little kids.
And this has nothing to do with jealousy on my part, just anger and outrage that people can stoop so low. I just can’t stand it when someone in a position of power abuses that power to steal money, just makes my blood boil. You have no proof to these assertions. Don't get all worked up. All I can say is : AS IF.

Literally everybody who’s anybody in this country is on the take. It is such a deeply corrupt country, and I don’t just mean that everyone’s on the take, but also morally corrupt, just one big mess of greedy b@stards who don’t give a flying **** who they have to screw over to rake in even more money. It really is quite sickening, and there is zero chance of this stopping any time soon, the whole system is just rotten to the core.
Hey it's a system that works - palm greasing is nothing new. Tsk tsk are you jealous that you are not in the position of having your palm greased.
