Have many of them have ever worn a helmet and for others like foreigners who are ticketed have you ever observed a Thai being ticketed
Many... Here on Koh Samui they fine all, doesn't matter Thai or Farang and the price is the same. But the cops don't do it for improving safety, they don't for the cash as I'm sure you know. And they always do the check points in the same places, still the locals are stupid enough to get caught!

Always remember to wear your face mask. Helmet, mai pen rai....

Maybe I was not clear in my original post leading to confusion... Here is the clarification: Family visa as in NON-O Family (Spouse/Children, in this case children) Visa for me to live in Thailand to take care of children here.

Is there some reason why you can't get your children registered as citizens of your country and get passports, rather than visas?
What? This is about me getting a visa in Thailand not about my children getting a visa abroad. And of course they have dual nationality already but I don't.... ????

Got the custody status changed to joint custody as per last week. And a court order to take care of children with it. It did cost me 50,000 baht but as I now can get visa trouble free for many years to come it had to be worth it. Living abroad as a foreigner is an experience and it comes with a price...

Thanks for input. I've got myself a lawyer claiming she'll get it done within 2 weeks. I'll be sure to make an update here.

When me and my wife got divorced as friends at the Amphur last year she was by formality (and partly by my ignorance) given full custody of our two children. None of us realized it would create a problem for me when applying for family visa later. She agrees to give me joint custody now, but it's not as easy as it would sound. Thinking we as two adults that agree could go to the provincial court on Koh Samui to change it, did not work. They did not even let us in the building... Referering to "everything must go through a lawyer". If we agree what do we need a lawyer for? Does anyone have any intel or experience of this? What would the cost estimate reasonable be, considered we both agree? To be able to apply for visa the custody needs to be changed to joint custody and a court letter to be issued that I'm needed here to take care of children. I don't wanna spend more money on lawyer than I have to, rather save up for the kids education...

COE rejected by Stockholm. Reason; upload vaccine certificate dose 1.
EU Covid-19 certificate does not state date of dose 1 and dose 2. It only states the date of the latest dose. So anyone that has not downloaded the certificate after the first dose but before the second can not possibly have any certificate for dose 1.
Fortunately in my case, I did download it after the first dose and managed to find it on my phone.
But the dose 1 requirement will definitely cause grand confusion among COE applicants and inevitably less people being able to come to Thailand, at least from Europe.

Be advised that when logging in to your COE application just use your first and last name, middle names should not be entered.
-
But those with family in Thailand can only apply for a 90 days single entry from abroad. New from this year. ????
I assume we are not high quality visitors.

The requirement is 7 nights so you should be good. They will issue a release form (hate the word, sounds like getting out prison) after the 2nd negative test. Fit to fly is not required as far as I'm concerned. Good luck!
Sorry just realized you arrived before the new requirements. You might be looking at a 3rd test and the full 14 nights. However at least you should be able to change location within the sandbox.

I'm in the phuket sandbox since September 26th. Will I be able to fly to BKK on October 3rd which is my 7th day? I asked for a certificate and fit to fly document from the testing center when I had my 2nd swab test done.

Certainly if you have family/property/business in Thailand or your time is less constrained, it's a far superior alternative. For the actual "tourists" with limited vacation time available, not so much.
But if they are planning to go to the places that are included by the sandbox most of them plan to stay minimum 7 nights anyway, therefore can't I really see the problem. It's moving in the right direction, I rather focus on what's positive but maybe that's just me.

It is confusing and it changes daily.
For Phuket - you must fly direct, Not via Bangkok.
For Samui there is a 'quarantined' transfer route for a transfer to one of the three daily special Samui Plus flights. (No domestic passengers allowed.)
There are also scheduled flights to Samui for domestic travellers. (No International passengers allowed unless they have quarantined in Bangkok first.) The passengers cannot mix and match.
There's several flights for this purpose to Samui everyday, not a problem.

Do you have to fly out of Phuket? Also could you tell me what the SHABA cert is? Do you get it if you book directly with the hotel or do you have to use some site?
After 7 days you will receive a release form, same as those that have undergone ASQ. After that you are free to travel under the same conditions as everyone else in Thailand.
If you book directly with a SHA+ certified hotel, they will issue the SHABA certificate for you. Which has a ID number that you use to book the PCR tests on https://www.thailandpsas.com/

Sandbox = quarantine no matter how you dress it up, no matter how many countries you invite in.
As I've done two weeks of hard quarantine in Bangkok earlier this year, I must say Sandbox is a much better alternative and as good as it gets at the moment!

Is there already the planned transfer option at Suvanabumi Airport? Many airlines only offer Bangkok as a destination and not e.g. Koh Samui. Same with Phuket. There is no long range airline which over Krabi as final destination. Can travelers book the connecting flight seperatly themselves?
To Samui it has to be all in the same booking, you can add the flight to Samui with Bangkok Airways if you fly with Qatar airways. Price when I checked was 2,300 baht, same as when booking with Bangkok Airways directly. Adding the flight to an already existing booking is possible.
To Phuket you will have to arrive with an international flight, Qatar Airways recommended. I had an existing booking to BKK that I changed to Phuket, free of charge.

It's kind of a cultural thing.
Sure is... Never to admit doing wrong, never to take responsibility.
It's impolite in Thailand to point out another person's wrongdoings and shortcomings but surely if you have a restaurant you must be able to separate your business from your private person!

Thai Public Health Ministry backtracks on its proposal to remove mandatory facial masks, says was a misunderstanding
in Thailand News

Well most of the cyclists I see (the ones in tights) wear a helmet. When it comes to motorcyclist on the other hand... Basically all wearing a face mask but very few a helmet. Here on Koh Samui the air quality is fine, it's just stupidity.
