  1. The security videos from inside the bar have been posted. The security guard clearly threw the first punch after being taunted by the white shirt guy. Their job was to deescalate the situation not start fighting a bunch of drunks.
  2. I was referring to applying to a new elite visa not upgrading one. I did it this year and I had 30 days to make the payment. The processing time varies, they told me 1-2 months, mine took 2 months. They give me the same time estimate for upgrading. Also, you can use a credit card(one with no foreign fees), you don’t need to do a bank transfer. That’s what I did, got some points in the process.
  3. It takes about 2 months to get approved, if you apply now, you will be approved around mid October, then you can decide to go through with the payment within 30 days. The details on the new packages should be announced on October 1st.
  4. Thai elite(not an agent) told me that it was almost certain that the new packages would start at 900k for the 5 years. There’s no reason to wait for the new packages if you’re thinking about applying since you can back out at the end before paying.
  5. I was told directly by Thai elite by email and talking with them on the phone. They do a criminal record check which takes 1-2 months, 6 weeks on average.
  6. Reminder: the cutoff date to upgrade is in 3 days. If you are unsure about upgrading, do it now. The process takes 6 weeks and you can back out at the end before paying. At that point, we should know all the details about the new packages.
  7. If you want to upgrade, you need to do it by mail. Just in case 11 days was too much time…
  8. Yes, I’m using e visa. So does that mean I could renew a visa while in Thailand and I could just go to a neighbor country and back to activate it?
  9. My current 1 year multiple entry visa will expire a few weeks after I arrive in Thailand. So I thought it would be better to renew now while I’m in the US. My question is what happens if I enter Thailand using my old visa and the new one gets approved after?
