The Silent, Vaccinated, Impatient Majority
Jeffr2 replied to cdemundo's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
That leaves either AZ, which has had many side effects reported also, or a Chinese one. Or, I guess, Russian. Bizarre. P.S. I don't know anyone who's had side effects from Pfizer. Other than a bit under the weather for a day, or a sore arm. And i know hundreds personally who've gotten the jab. -

All vaccines have side effects. Heck, for me, even taking vitamins upsets my stomach. What vaccine did you get? -
You know nothing about me. I pay above average rates for labor here. And our house here is far from cheap. A beautiful 4br 4ba pool villa near the beach. Not a condo. Some harsh words for others here. We're just having a conversation. and not everybody is in the same situation financially. Jeez. P.S. I own raw land in Vegas. Easier to deal with than a house. And yes, the prices have gone crazy on land also.

I was with a friend in Colorado this summer. He needed some work done on his house. Guess what? No contractor would take the job as it was only a few days work. And even then, the prices were eye watering. So, we did it our selves. Not something I enjoy doing at my age. On my knees doing manual labor. I've got no interest in living in 2 places. I had a 4br 4ba house in Vegas that I sold in 2008. Beautiful house, right on the golf course, fantastic. Just didn't want to keep 2 residences. and for sure, hate that long flight. This summer was the first time back in the US in 10 years. We might go back late this year, who knows. Rental cars were sold out, hotels were priced sky high, it was no fun in the US this past year. Used car prices are up significantly. Not 100% due to the dollar's devaluation. Same with prices on many things. Again, not 100% due to fiscal policies. I'm a trained economist. You're a contractor. I do know about money and inflation. Masters degree in it and all....

Ummm...you've not read the news that the vast majority in the hospitals are unvaccinated? From 6 months old to very old. Covid may not kill younger people as much, but it still does. And sometimes, leaves them with lasting effects. Not to mention all those getting sick is causing massive logistics problems. No pilots, no truck drivers, no workers in grocery stores. Yes, the virus is winning against those who are unvaccinated.

https://www.frommers.com/blogs/arthur-frommer-online/blog_posts/vaccination-is-no-longer-enough-a-booster-is-now-a-must-in-these-places The list of destinations that now require visitors to have proof of a Covid-19 booster shot in addition to an original vaccination has snowballed in recent weeks. Increasingly, studies demonstrate boosters provide strong protection from severe illness—research released this week in the United Kingdom found they cut the risk of hospitalization by 95%. Consequently, health authorities are responding by expanding their definitions of full protection to include a booster. The European Union's governing body recently revised its rules to state that vaccination certificates would only be valid for 270 days (about 9 months) unless they have been renewed with a booster shot. As a result, many EU countries have been changing their local policies to reflect the shift.

Some of us are not poor and can live back home easily. But, the lifestyle would be completely different. And most things would be much more expensive. Life here is good when you can get someone to fix something for under 1k Baht a day. Try that back in the US. Good luck. Prices are going up. Haven't you read about inflation? It's more than fiscal policy.

I get it, seriously. But what you say is what's causing the problems. And is being fueled by misinformation on social media. Yield to fear? Come on. Worst pandemic in 100 years and millions are now dead. Millions more hospitalized, some with lasting consequences. It's been proven your own biology and lifestyle won't cut it. You're just being stubborn and ignoring the science. Sad you'll allow those around you to be at risk, and perhaps worse, have to mourn your death just because you're stubborn. Incredible.

Omicron is a big deal. More cases means more deaths and more in the hospital. Simple math. Boosters help.

Return Airline Ticket Required ?
Jeffr2 replied to LoeiI's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I got caught out with that one year. Had a singe and the clerk said I had a multi. Lost my retirement visa. Good thing as my new one doesn't have the insurance requirement! LOL -
Return Airline Ticket Required ?
Jeffr2 replied to LoeiI's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The airline just wants to make sure you have permission to enter Thailand. With your visa, you're good to go! No return ticket necessary. If you were coming here and getting a visa exemption, then a return ticket would be needed. Have a good trip! -
Henderson was never a top notch place, but over the years, has gotten much better as people were being driven outside of central Vegas due to high prices. Bloody hot in the summer!!!! I had an RV for years, but it was a 40' class A motorhome. Very nice. But now, prices are crazy, campsites are full, just no fun. I'd love to go back for a bit, but not sure I want to relocate. For all it's problems, Thailand is still a very good place to live. Easy and relatively cheap. Hopefully, we'll spend the winter this coming season in Mexico. Puerto Escondido area.

Perhaps those pushing for "Freedom of Speech" should read up on it. It's far from an absolute right, especially when it comes to the health and welfare of others. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_speech -
Be safe out there. Some are playing roulette.

Because they're unvaccinated. That's been explained many times.
