The instant you see "just send money" you KNOW it's a scam.
Surely not?

What about the workers who support the other 78% of Thailands GDP ?
Point is to stop the virus at its point of entry

Just like our vaccines may only work for a year.
Stay tuned.
Dont need to share the source. Data not yet available. Will be in next few weeks.
Argument is that the vaccine prepares the immune system. When (if) you catch covid, you can fight more efficiently. Meaning fewer or even no symptoms.
But if youve caught this communicable desease, you can still pass it on. Though obviously since youve neutralised most if not all, the charge you could pass on is much reduced.
The answer is really the general answer of think in tones of grey as answers are never black and white, its rarely all or nothing, always nuanced.

TAT forced to admit reality? Yes, they didn't think things through.
Covid shuts the tourist industry.
What do you do with the workers? The assets (shops, boats, coaches, hotels etc)?Being out of work for a long time means you lose the discipline of work and get into criminal activities.
How do you get 1.5 million people back into work next year 2022, or retrained into new jobs? All those assets. Rotting away. Who's got the money to replace them when the tourists return?
And if money goes to restoring old assets, it doesn't go into new industries, like factories to build the electric car.The priorities need government money to keep things ticking over.
And Thailand will re-open and tourists will return when 70% of Thais are protected through vaccination to herd immunity.
I hope for all our sakes that the army is organising this. Focus on reality, real needs.

Better to focus on those back roads into your wonderful kingdom.
And be grateful thete are people willing to pay $5,000 to return home.
Not worry about this strain or that - your conditions are strict enough.
Medium and long term, you can stop thinking too much about tourism as the goose is cooked there. Retrain the millions currently starving for high tech, such as design and build batteries, electric cars and of course the high priority voyage to the moon.

That's what he says, but how will he do it?
I ll start believing this fairy story when I see a schedule of vaccinations and proof it is being followed.
If Thailand wants a tourist industry, it will need to radically change its attitude to falang.
What will push Thailand along the road to being an adult member of the world community will be the competition from other world-wide holiday destinations.
Change comes from within - start with an honest appraisal of self.

A total of 993 individuals were found to be infected out of140,429
This is 707 per 100,000, which is extremely high. Countries are put on the red list if their rate is 20 per 100,000.
We can conclude this is the cause of infection in Th (not falang as very few allowed in).

Well at least the daily dollop of tat shows what is possible! Youd think the govt and health ministey would be pulling out ALL THE STOPS to vaccinate ecery last little Thai, but no, "sometime towards the end of next year" half the population. Bit lackadaisical considering tourism IS the economy.

Half a million restaurants? Probably four times that figure and 90% just about surviving.
If spas need an annual license then so should restaus.
For restaurants making money, a Health Chief should liaise with the Tourist Authority.
The government may not realise at the moment that its survival and that of the nation depend on tourism and there is much to be done to get back into the top ten tourist destinations. Somehow, the govt has stoked a real hate of Thailand amongst people beyond its borders. The Land of Smiles is revealed to be full of violent scammers determined to get something for nothing, which is not a recipe for long term stability and success.

It's a helpful article, could almost be written by a govt spokesperson!
Reality is that everyone is connected to everyone these days, it's worldwide. And that includes politically. In the race to get your people vaccinated, the stewards (like the WHO) will make sure everyone gets to the finishing line more or less at the same time. The dots will all be joined up.
Id also imagine Thailand, having come this far, won't let in foreigners until its own people are vaccinated - all of them, not just an elite.
By the time the World is vaccinated - which won't be long, few months - we'll have answers to all the questions in the article.
And of course the security services will profit from this with tracker app.s and passport stamps etc, just as the elite are trying to profit financially now.
I'd imagine that finally, the people of Thailand will be so broke and so very bored, there'll let everyone in once the vaccines are shown to be effective.
Summer 2021? Beach Party June everybody?

The experience from past vaccination programs is that if you make it mandatory, you get lots of resistance, because what people in democracies object to is the use of force. Make it optional and it takes the wind out of the sails of the antivaxxers.
Reality is, don't need to vaccinate 100% of the population to get herd immunity, so a few antivaxxers would only be making problems for themselves.

It could be the much greater interest on the part of serious investors in having a fully diversified portfolio. Given the shocks and volatility and uncertainty going ahead.

It doesn't require a state of emergency to do that.
It merely requires maintaining, with "normal" legislation, procedures that are currently in place and carrying out that specific task.
The state of emergency is now solely to justify increasingly restrictive measures, against vociferous, politically active Thai citizens......in Thailand.
Also helpful to those wanting a quiet Christmas, not being disturbed by popular revolts

Not to worry to much about -70° temp for mRNA vaccine. It is ok for 3 to 5 days at room temperature.
The issue is, will there be enough to go around? Cos Pfizer can make 1.3 billion next year, which will do 650m people or 10% of the world's population.
Then, you gotta hope the others in stage 3 make it through.
And finally, you expect the Thai authorities to stop trying to scam visitors and foreign residents and open up to tourists carrying immunised certificates. (Good for 20% GDP and the poorer half of the population.)

Here is what The Caneries offer:
"
In order to boost tourism, the Canary Islands are also offering free medical insurance for tourists, which covers medical expenses, medical repatriation and your stay if you need to quarantine on the islands for 15 days.
The policy is offered to all tourists visiting the Canary Islands who test positive for coronavirus during their stay at “any regulated establishment”, as well as their accompanying relatives, even when the latter have not tested positive for Covid-19."
So which destination do you think tourists will be attracted.
