The last few days, I spoke with several thai people, educated and not so educated.
None of them was really aware of what is going on in Ukraine but straight away mentioned that a thai actress died.My gf won't shut up about this actress, been talkin about it for 2 days straight already.

Russians said they won't be taking Ukraine, just do whatever they are doing and then leave, similar to what US did to Iraq, Afganistan etc.

Was planning on going to Chang Mai for a week end of this month, now it seems like it's not going to happen.
Anyone knows when will it end?

good luck in Jomtien. I typically have to go 4 x for "one" 60 day extension.
Thai visa centre raking in big bucks doing covid extensions for 6000-8000 baht if you don't want to do it. Better to just pay the helpers at immigration a few hundred to fill out all your paperwork though imo.
Should be no way they can turn you down now for getting one. Can't lock a place down then say sorry, covid not a valid reason.
I'm in Jomtien, when you 4 x for one 60 extension, what does it mean? go 4 times?
Thanks for heads up on thai visa center.

I wonder can I use this as an excuse to extend my visa for 60 days instead of 30.

This list is unconfirmed, even Thailand Longstay doesn't know the official requirements.

As far as I know, the visa is only available to tourists flying in from "safe" countries. I have yet to find this list?
No official list exist yet, there is list of EU countries that's been floating around on various facebook groups, but those countries are far from what I would call safe.

emailed them lets see if they reply

Application Procedure for Special Tourist Visa (STV)
1. A foreign applicant must e-mail Thailand Longstay Company ([email protected]) to submit his/her intention to apply for the Special Tourist Visa (STV). In the e-mail, please provide the following information of all the applicants:
• Photo of the passport that the applicant will use for entry into Thailand
• Current Location/Residence (City & Country)
• Nearest Thai Embassy/Consulate to the Applicant
2. The company will send the photo of the passport to the Thai Immigration Bureau to check the applicant’s criminal record
What's the source of this? anything official?

We need a list of where to apply. As far as I know, Thailand Longstay Company is one of the places (if not the only one) to apply; however, there is absolutely no information on their website: http://www.thailongstay.co.th
I send them an e-mail yesterday, no reply yet.
Thanks!
Yesterday in one of the facebook groups I got recommended the same "Thailand Longstay Company" and someone even emailed them and got a reply and they said they don't know and we have to wait till they get more info ????

Out of curiosity, does any one know the cost ( say daily rate ), will be to stay in one of the government approved isolation hotels ? Also as they are all doing the same thing, will it be a same fixed rate at all the hotels.
the cost if from 30k to 400k baht (ALSQs in Phuket are expensive) for two weeks, the rate is not fixed.

I dont get why everyone appears to be so negative about this visa, I have 6-8 friends cheering about it.
They can come back to Thailand, they can be here in 2 weeks time, they can quarantine at home, they can stay 9 months.
It coincides with Thai airways starting up charter flights from the major places.
Not everyone is negative, I would do 2 week ASQ in a heartbeat if only commercial flights were available and maybe no test before flight (this one is doable but a huge pain/risk).
People will always itch, can't change that ????

They must also have health certificates like "fit to fly" within 72 hours and adequate insurance.
Does this mean that no pre-flight test is required now?

Depends on the TV brand/model, I have sony AF9 I think and it did cost me an arm and a leg, but to my surprise it came with 100mb adapter which is way slower than wifi a/c.
My friend bought an LG not so long ago and has the same problem, not 1GE ethernet.
But this also doesn't matter much unless you plan to stream 4k videos from nas or do remote play.

The plan is under consideration and the decision will be made by the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).
So basically same thing as before, no decision still.

Do you have to have insurance from Thai company? Locally insurance costs much less and covers Covid.
