The last few days, I spoke with several thai people, educated and not so educated.
None of them was really aware of what is going on in Ukraine but straight away mentioned that a thai actress died.

My gf won't shut up about this actress, been talkin about it for 2 days straight already.

Taking over "territory" is not considered a civilized thing to do these days.

Russians said they won't be taking Ukraine, just do whatever they are doing and then leave, similar to what US did to Iraq, Afganistan etc.

good luck in Jomtien.  I typically have to go 4 x for "one" 60 day extension.

Thai visa centre raking in big bucks doing covid extensions for 6000-8000 baht if you don't want to do it.  Better to just pay the helpers at immigration a few hundred to fill out all your paperwork though imo.

Should be no way they can turn you down now for getting one.  Can't lock a place down then say sorry, covid not a valid reason.

I'm in Jomtien, when you 4 x for one 60 extension, what does it mean? go 4 times?

Thanks for heads up on thai visa center.

Application Procedure for Special Tourist Visa (STV)

    1.      A foreign applicant must e-mail Thailand Longstay Company ([email protected]) to submit his/her intention to apply for the Special Tourist Visa (STV). In the e-mail, please provide the following information of all the applicants:

Photo of the passport that the applicant will use for entry into Thailand

        Current Location/Residence (City & Country)

Nearest Thai Embassy/Consulate to the Applicant

    2.      The company will send the photo of the passport to the Thai Immigration Bureau to check the applicant’s criminal record

What's the source of this? anything official?

Out of curiosity, does any one know the cost ( say daily rate ), will be to stay in one of the government approved isolation hotels ? Also as they are all doing the same thing, will it be a same fixed rate at all the hotels.

the cost if from 30k to 400k baht (ALSQs in Phuket are expensive) for two weeks, the rate is not fixed.

I dont get why everyone appears to be so negative about this visa, I have 6-8 friends cheering about it.

They can come back to Thailand, they can be here in 2 weeks time, they can quarantine at home, they can stay 9 months.

It coincides with Thai airways starting up charter flights from the major places.

Not everyone is negative, I would do 2 week ASQ in a heartbeat if only commercial flights were available and maybe no test before flight (this one is doable but a huge pain/risk).

People will always itch, can't change that ????
