    we might allow lol

maybe it will depend on how much money you are spending - if you hit a certain provable level on the first week you may qualify for a special alcohol VIP certificate .................................Amazing

Majority of restaurants in Phuket with local connections never stopped serving alcohol ????. They just serve it to you in a paper cup. Just have to ask. A restaurant opened a bottle of champagne ???? for me last night in blatant police view and police laughed  as they walked by, giving me a high five. Was on beach ???? this morning drinking Le Chouffes, officer walked by and took a selfie with me. He clearly saw the beer but didn’t care. Strip clubs and bars are still open, you just need to know where to go. Marijuana still being sold on certain beaches that are still happening at night ( there are only 2 ). No one that lives in Phuket takes any of these rules seriously. People coming to Phuket by yacht all year long, bypassing customs and quarantine completely. Everyone else driving up from Malaysia or getting Covid  elite visa. We will see how it is for tourists but like most things in Thailand, I seriously doubt any of these rules will be enforced. This is just for show. Time will tell.

The virus is airborne.  A vast majority get the virus from air droplets, not from surfaces.

WHO Finally Admits Coronavirus Is Airborne. It’s Too Late

And yet it’s already established that it’s far safer outside than it is inside if you’re trying to avoid covid.
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/04/13/covid-outside-safety/

And with good reason, according to many scientists and public health experts, who say that the outdoor spaces now warming under spring sun should be viewed as havens in the battle against a stubborn virus and restriction-induced fatigue. For more than a year, the vast majority of documented coronavirus clusters have been linked to indoor or indoor-outdoor settings — households, meatpacking plants, nursing homes and restaurants. Near-absent are examples of transmission at beaches and other open spaces where breezes disperse airborne particles, distancing is easier, and humidity and sunlight render the coronavirus less viable.”

In the UK, my ex-wife, a nurse, had Covid in November. Her 2nd cousin died of it age 73. She also had a colleague aged 59 who died of it last week. My son had a colleague who died of it earlier this month also in their 50's. A cousin of my father died last summer.

Some people obviously do not keep in contact with relatives or old acquaintances. They think they know a lot of people, but don't.

What was their health like though? Were they obese? Alcoholics? Eating healthy? Exercising regularly?

As we’ve seen just this week, both Larry King and Hank Aaron died shortly after taking the vaccine. It seems the vaccine is also a risk for those that are frail.

Bottom line is that if you’ve taken care of your body and done your due diligence, covid is not a risk or even a remote risk. This is supported by massive amounts of data.

If you haven’t taken care of yourself, then you are likely at as much risk from the vaccine itself as you are from covid.

Moral of the story: take care of your health. It really is that simple. Stop drinking, stop eating fast food, go to the gym. Case closed.

It's will get a lot worse next week all over the world, especially in the west after new year. I know many people partied like crazy????

Monday open will be another easy money day for me????

Monday will open green. You bears never learn. I’m up 700% on total networth this year because I understand that we’re in the middle of a massive melt up that will continue until 2029 $ARKK, $ARKG, $ARKW, $TAN, $ICLN, $BTC, $ETH. All time highs across the board all month long. Buy the dip. You’re welcome. It’s not too late for you! Bitcoin still heading to $500k. Ethereum $20k. Nasdaq 22k.

  5. Lol, Moderna vaccine isn’t coming to Thailand anytime soon. Western countries will be prioritized. At max, Thailand “might” get 100,000 doses. It won’t be until 2023 that Thailand gets it’s act together in regards to vaccines. At which point the virus will have  mutated and the vaccine they do finally administer will be totally useless. Not to mention, the market will be flooded with Chinese counterfeits within 6 months. No one will know what is and isn’t real like 95% of the medicine currently sold in Thailand.

Majority of medicine in Thailand is fake if you weren’t aware. Often the medicine still works but the potency isn’t there because it’s a Chinese knock off that hasn’t undergone stringent quality control. Not to mention most of the medicine that gets used in Thailand is smuggled in via customs bribery methods from other cheaper countries ( as legal importation with up to 300% import tax on medicine has created a black market for Pharma goods ) and sits in a hot customs warehouse where it rapidly loses it efficacy due to the heat here. Most medicine needs to be stored under 25 degrees C or it’s no good. And the quality control and temperature regulation needed for vaccines is insane.

Thailand lacks the infrastructure and knowledge to produce and administer a viable vaccine in a reasonable amount of time. The virus will have already mutated if they actually manage to mass produce something ( which I doubt ). It’s a futile endeavor and a complete waste of time and money. But if it helps you sleep better at night, so be it. The “placebo effect” is indeed powerful.

Bottom line is that if you live in Thailand, you need a strong immune system and you need to take care of your health. Don’t expect medicine  here to help you much. It’s mostly bogus and the stuff that is legit underperforms due to the temperature issue ( few people consider the importance of temperature when it comes to medicine ).

  6. Great news for the US stock market and cryptocurrency!! Wohoooo! The longer these lockdowns carry on, the more stimulus, the more debt countries take on, the more money they will print, the greater the inflation. Inflation gets hidden in equities and real estate so the more exponential my networth will skyrocket. Literally, my networth has gonna up 1000% this year just by staying at home????. What an amazing time to be alive if you own stocks and cryptocurrency and property in the West!! Let’s keep this going for as long as possible!!

I doubt that will help much.  Most of these "digital nomads" are bloggers / vloggers, front end (web sites), and gamers.  Cybersecurity is a very specialized field that pays very well.  I doubt you'll find someone like that hanging out in Thailand.

Completely false. I work remotely for Google and have done so for 6 years. I live in Phuket. I get paid 7 figs USD / year + 6 figs USD in GOOGL equity. Google has me on contract for another decade. Yep, that’s how good I am.

There are plenty of brilliant digital nomads living in Thailand. (Why would you not live in Thailand if you’re rich and can work from wherever you want?)

However, no chance Thailand can afford me and that’s really the major barrier. If Thailand wants to attempt to match 7 figure USD Big Tech salaries, I would definitely consider helping them out with their Cybersecurity issues.

OK so the Thai economy is hurting because of the lack of tourists.

Heres an idea. Many of us expats are sitting with 800k in the bank we never touch. Why dont they drop the requirement to 400k and encourage us to spend the difference.

That would defeat the entire purpose of the 800k baht which is to help alcoholic retirees budget for a rainy day so that Thailand doesn't end up having to foot the bill for the hundreds of thousands of livers that will inevitably expire. Personally, I think it should be at least 3 milly given that expat alcohol abuse is about to skyrocket due to the global economy  being on the brink of collapse ( 2021 will collapse ). Pensions funds, which many retirees survive on, will be the first things to go. I kid you not, if you are an expat or retiree surviving on a government pension, you are about six months away from losing your monthly income. Jay Powell is not going to be able to print the world out of this mess. QE isn't going to work this time. Interest rates can't be lowered. Basically we're looking at the biggest worldwide economic collapse in human history as we come to the end of an 80 year economic super cycle. Sadly, most don't even realize what is happening. Most pension funds around the world are composed of BIG TECH stocks like Apple, Microsoft, Netflix, Amazon etc... ( hence why the FED is pumping the heck out of them ). Big Tech bubble is a few months shy from popping. What happens to pensions funds when it does? BYE BYE pensions and hello alcohol. Thailand is about to have a real mess on its hands and will be very glad it enforced the 800,000 baht rule.

So Sweden among the most successful countries in containing Covid19, now considered for special visas.

    No masks, no lockdown.

How did the Swedes do it? Oh that's right, no masks, no lockdown.

The US has been, by far, the most successful country at containing covid when you consider death rate, population size, tests given, age range of tests given, and the fact that it's the business epicenter of the world with people from every country at any given time. Hands down, America nailed it but sadly the Orange Man Bad crew have created a false narrative to destroy the global economy in hopes of destroying Orange's 2020 election prospects. It couldn't be any more obvious. Had Obummer been in office, I guarantee you that America would have zero deaths due to covid. I guarantee you that we would have never even heard about covid. They would have brushed it under the rug.

Kudos to America once again for showing the world how to deal with the world's greatest hoax. It's just sad that Thailand and the rest of the world got dragged into this utterly ridiculous feud / Democratic temper tantrum. God help you if you actually believe this covid nonsense. Anyone with a brain knows precisely what this whole thing was all about: US Politics.

That said, I can't complain, I made a small fortune from the stock market from shorting it in February ( always short the market or buy TVIX when there is "reported" pandemic ) and buying the dip in March ( always go ALL IN when the stock market drops 30% + / blood in the streets ). Selling the top in August, now buying the dip again after the election crash. It's too easy folks. It's just too freaking easy to make money with how they manipulate stocks with world events these days. If you pay attention to what is happening the world, you will clean house in the stock market. Money talks and I'm swimming in it. Why? Smart.

I am still laughing at how all of a sudden every man and his dog was a glove and mask dealer/agent with "special allocations" when all the glove manufacturers we warning about all these scams right on the front page of their websites. I know dozens of people that got burned and i would always ask the same question. Why would anyone go through you when they can just contact the factories direct.

Not everyone got scammed. My wife did a $10 million USD ( not baht ) deal with Germany during the covid-hoax and went through a middle man in Thailand that supplies all the hi-so clinics in Bangkok. She fronted the money in advance. 50% up front, 50% on receipt of goods. Granted she's Thai and has connections at the very top but still, point being that it's not always a terrible idea to go through a middleman, especially when you can 5x a 10 milly USD investment within a day. 10 milly to 50 milly in a day. Easy money. Though does entertain significant risk so don't try this at home kids unless you roll DEEP, and I mean DEEP, pockets. Really just depends on who you're dealing with in Thailand. Lots of great folks here at the upper end of the spectrum.

Why use a middleman vs going to 3M factory directly? The problem is you need the right contacts in Germany, for example she doesn't have contacts at the 3M factory in Germany. Also, back in late January, when she was doing this deal, your connect needed to have some serious pull to get stuff out of 3M in Germany. Remember, both the USA and China had gotten into a mask bid war and were buying up everything in site. Fortunately the wife got a head start on the US and was able get a nice 5x return on her investment. She dumped that return into a 3x leverage ETN called FNGU ( we knew the economy would rapidly bounce back since the entire thing was an orchestrated hoax used to tank the global economy ) and she's up almost 600% on 50 million USD since March. The wife rolls deep, and I mean deep...and she's' only 30, comes from the poor part of Thailand and grew up on a dirt floor with zero help from anyone. She is proof that Thailand truly is the land of both opportunity and smiles. Greatest country on the planet...by far.

I think that thailand refuses or is unable, to view themselves from the outside perspective.

What made Thailand a popular tourist destination in the past, was that it was

    • cheap
    • carefree
    • accessible
    • fun
    • exciting

People came to Thailand because it meant they could get away from the bureaucracy which plagues the west; one could come here and clamber on a motorcycle and travel on pavements. You could dash away and be anonymous at a full moon party, or go up north and get lost in the jungle and fall in love with some crazy isaan girl and have mad sex parties until dawn (if that floats your boat) or you could take the family to a high-end resort in the south and have all manner of fun on boats and beaches.

You could be a pretty broke student backpacker with $50 in your bumbag, and you could stay in a crappy hostel and meet up with other fellow stinkies, and hitch it down to the south and have an adventure and make friends for life.

You could go kickboxing and train with some of the best in the word. Go rock climbing, sky diving, snorkelling and deep sea diving, and all at competitive prices.

You could finish it all off with a couple of hedonistic nights in Bangkok, which might still only cost you 1500-3000 baht, if you weren't completely insane ( less than that 10 years ago)

You could visit the silk factories in the north and go camping in Kao Yai, or if you were elderly you could receive great medical attention and get pleasured by a pretty nurse into the bargain.

If you were american you could have a stab at setting up a business pretty easily ( it would fail after a year or 2  - but still have some fun).

Simply put, that has all gone; poof! Up and disappeared like a fart in the wind, never to return.

It was going downhill long before Covid, and now it's well and truly gone forever.

The problem lies within Thailand and their inability to appreciate tourists and to integrate - and hell - even to learn the bloody english language properly.

Nobody is getting on a plane to stay here anymore.

As long as covid exists it will be over.

Thailand needs to accept that the world is not standing at the departure gates across the globe straining at the leash to get here - and even if and when they DID get here - they'd soon find out how deathly BORING it is now!

There's a horrible pall of depression hanging over everything and the current political situation is further dragging everything down and is like a powder keg waiting to blow.

You can't have FUN here anymore.

Pattaya is dead - its all GONE. The fun was in the relative anonymity - the great melting pot hodgepodge of people from all over the world - getting lost in clubs in Silom and China town and waking up hungover with a bad tattoo  - it's all gone. It's over.

Stupid hairbrained "Schemes" are not going to solve it  - because nobody is thinking about thailand. Nobody wants to come - everyone just wants their lives back - and that starts at HOME. And HOME is screwed because some Chinese clowns wanted to eat bats for dinner.

While I love your comment and I find it mostly accurate, you are wrong in the sense that you can't have fun here anymore. I would argue that Thailand has become more fun than ever before. I traveled down to Bangla Road last weekend for a bit of mischief. OMG...I've never had so much fun in my entire life. It's totally ridiculous now, completely lawless. If you thought Bangla was wild in the past, I recommend checking it out now. Granted, I'm in my 30s so the experience might be slightly different for me. I was also shocked at how busy it was. Personally, I like the amount of people that are there now. Mostly locals but still a great time.

You're also forgetting one thing. Every other country on Planet Earth is also super boring right now. We are moving towards a clean, green, sanitized world where nobody leaves home and everyone works from home. That is sadly our future. So relatively speaking, Thailand will still remain exponentially more exciting and "fun" relative to Western nations that will become "super boring". Everything is relative my friend. I have many friends that are itching to get out of New York and over to Phuket as NYC is spiraling into the abyss. Same with friends in Los Angeles. They can't wait to get out of super-strict California. California is collapsing, mass exodus happening as we speak as the effective tax rate is being jacked up to 67% if/when Biden wins which seems likely. Many super wealthy California digital nomads now looking at Thailand ( I work for Google from Phuket and absolutely love it here so yeah, the Thailand dynamic is rapidly shifting and I personally think Phuket will become the next California, USA...yes sir...buy real estate in Phuket on this dip ). And I would argue that anyone that comes here is in for the time of their lives when they finally do get here. Thailand rocks and always will. Just my opinion though.

Spot on. It’s not exactly a welcoming party is it?

A prisoner for 2 weeks stuck in a hotel, let out for a weeks Parole all at your expense, not forgetting the testing. Then you can (Hopefully) finally make it to your destination.

There’s the best part of a month gone of your summer break and a large chunk of cash.

Will people suffer it? Maybe some who are desperate to see their separated families but I can’t see the uptake of people just looking to escape the winter months back home for a bit of sun.

You might be surprised. Most of the 5 star resorts in Phuket ( currently at 90%  discounts ) are ocean front with "private beaches" and built so that you never have to leave the resort. It might be shocking to you to discover that a huge portion of these "snow birds" never leave the resort. They're mainly interested in staycationing, relaxing at the beach, getting tan, getting laid, and getting drunk. If you've ever been to Trisara or Amanpuri or Anantara in Phuket, you'd realized that the setup you've got there is shockingly amazing. Not to mention high-end luxury escorts from all over the world delivered to your doorstep at a 95% discount at present. And let's be honest, it's not like they're actually going to enforce this quarantine lol. I mean do you even live in Thailand and know how it works here lol? Do you not know how easy it is to do whatever you want here with a few dollars under the table? Definitely not going to enforce anything on the wealthy that are dropping major league FRANKLINS left and right in Thailand at a time when the Thais desperately need those tourist greenbacks. And bro, many people getting silly rich right now from the Nasdaq with nowhere to spend their money. I'm up 678% on my networth YTD trading options via Robinhood...and I'm just a hobbyist.  Imagine what the pros are up!!! Go Nikola ($NKLA)!!! Going to pop tomorrow, that's how easy making money is right now. Point being, lots of people are swimming in cash ( like straight swimming brah ), are bored in their home country and will happily come to Thailand for a month and shack up in a 5 star Phuket resort at a 90% discount with "girl doorstep delivery". A lot of folks on here are out of touch with the current clientele that visits places like Phuket. Agreed, Patong ain't coming back anytime soon because that is a place for cheap low class tourists but North Western Phuket will likely explode with snow birds once Phuket opens up Oct 1. Just saying.
