Makes sense. Many grumpy people on this forum want to kick those that are not married or not able to meet the requirements for retirement visa, I don't understand, but Thailand have nothing to loose to let people already in the country and are spending money continue to stay here. Could have made it easier and more convenient with allowing more extension inside the country, pay a fee, and you get your visa or whatever extended, a win-win situation.
So foreigners that are already in the country, in what way are they a burden to the country? I'm asking some of you guys that are accusing other for been taking a free ride the last 6 month, and have spend thousands of baht e e every month and are contributing to the economy.
xenophobia is real in Thailand

He is asking for special treatment, which he's had plenty of, and now wants this new law changed to suit him
Hmm , and what is wrong with that?
Isn't laws suppose to be for the people?
Don't Thai people want foreigners to be in Thailand so much?
Where is your antagonism is coming from? Is it coming from dislike and prejudice against people from other countries. There is a name for it : xen·o·pho·bi·a

Oh, we can not wait to come to Patong on Phuket.
What a place, the beach, where every 10 seconds they try to sell you some overpriced <deleted>.
Renting wave runners was so much fun and it only cost us $600 for a half an hour...
Tuk Tuk guys were real fun and amazing the way they jump on another tourist and beet a <deleted> out of him because for some unknown reason he felt he was being overcharged.Ohhh we have so many great memories ...
Miss Patong so much.- 1

The government needs to make Thailand a free smoking country, and sell some high quality weed.
It also needs to allow a micro brewery culture to grow in Thailand. Decrease tax on foreign goods, especially wine.
Make the immigration system friendly.
These few simple steps would make Thailand a go to destination. Maybe not for the rich and famous, but it would bring in much needed visitors.
Of course there are many other things that need to be improved-safety being one-
but these moves will cost the government nothing.

To do all that to bring back "Dirty Farang" ?
you have to be kidding ...
Let them just come to Thailand and we will overcharge them and make them pay double for medical services if they have an emergency.
Oh, also we should increase prison time for feeding fish and touching a sea cucumbers.- 1
