The government should check all of his assets and ask him to explain how he acquire such wealth on a policeman’s salary. I know the stock answer is he comes from a wealthy family. If his family is that wealthy, why is he a policeman? While they are at it also check all other high-ranking officials

Get out while you are only ฿230,000 out-of-pocket. Ab47-year-old grandmother should be paying you to marry her. If you stay with her, you may as well give her your ATM card as it will be one continual demand for money.

Get out now while you have only been taken down for B230,000
A 47 year old grandmother should be paying you to marry her. Take my advice it will be one endless demands for money.

So the immigration:
* VIP immigration fast track service
*Meet and greet services upon arrival by professional staff
* Golf cart buggy service
*Documentation service to skip the hassle
That I use every time I enter Suvarnabhumi after a long haul flight didn't exist! 😂
I'm actually quoting the bullet points verbatim from the confirmation emails. 😄
What did they charge you for the service?

What has amazed me over the years is the number of these tailor shops. I’ve never yet to see a Thai national being employed in one of them. Walk past the shops in question and the “tailor touts “ will try to con you to purchase one of their garments. All employees seem to be of Indian or other sub-continent nationality

Why go all that way to London just for a few days holiday when you subtract traveling time. Maybe to check on his assets in the UK to ensure they are still safe and sound. He would have enough money to buy a nice condominium in Mayfair.

The gold shop proprietor should be answering some questions. Why would he accept the Chinese man’s credit card presented by a Thai lady?
Not only in this instance but , I think the gold shop proprietors should be more responsible in accepting gold chains, jewelry etc for cash. Most of it is stolen or suspect- 1

What a bitch. 😡
I suggest Alena, the Russian lady, should walk around with a sign on her front and on her back, indicating when she is in period to warn the general public

Nature is what it is, you are going to get bad behavior from any nationality. Statistically, I think the tourist and expat population of Thailand, as against the Thai population, explains a lot
Thai population for 2023, 71. 85 million
tourist in Thailand for 2023, 28 million
Expats in Thailand, estimated 3 to 4 million people. All those figures from government sources. There is one foreigner for every 2.28 Thais living in Thailand. ( approximate) I know foreigners are visitors and must uphold the law, but for the number of tourist and expats I think the crime rate is very low in comparison to the Thai population,

Except for the Thai police officer who the two NZ brothers unsuccessfully tried to bribe, in today’s other big story. Maybe they’d seen similar posts by cynics on this forum, and just assumed bribery would always work.
Read the article, the cop did not want to accept the bribe because there was too many witnesses around the scene

I'm really thankful that the Phuket Governor came back from Germany to handle this mess.
While he is about it, clean up the taxi mafia, corrupt officials, overstaying foreigners etc etc etc etc. Plenty to do

I think the two New Zealand guys are OK guys. While Oscar had the strangle hold on the policeman Hamish didn’t lay the boot in. They do have some ethics. Not like a Farang being assaulted by six “security” guards outside a bar

Would they have any interest in horizontal folk dancing

I have been in Thailand over 10 years and just realized I have had zero Thai male friends the whole time.
Do other expats here have Thai male friends? If so, what are their ages, how old are you and where did you meet?
I'm talking about friends like I had in the USA where you call each other, hang out, go out to sporting events and concerts & drinking of course. Not guys you would know through a female or her relatives, but just guy friends you would meet while out and about.Have you tried searching out ladyboys for friends? . They are actually guys wearing lipstick. Please give feedback.

Nope! That is not at all true, more than seen on the individual vs individual plane.
In Thailand you have about 3-4 million foreigners that are living, working or staying long time in the country. most of them are migrant workers from neighboring countries. About 220 000 foreigners are skilled workers, retired or married to a Thai. (As of extra bonus about 42k of them are British) However, we can concentrate on them. Let´s say that every single one of them use and contribute with 1 million baht per year in Thailand. You as well as most people will know that is a very high number. That will give a total of 220 billion baht.
The tourism sector is built around so much more, but we will make it easy an estimate that every tourist use an average of 10 000 baht in Thailand, which opposite to the before high number is a very low amount. Only that low number will total 360 billion baht. But as well as I know, you will too, the tourism industry in Thailand is worth between 1,5 - 2 trillion baht based on earlier years.
So, now comes the question. With facts in front of you, will the tourism or the people staying long term in Thailand be most important for the county´s GDP?You quote,” The tourism sector is built around so much more, but we will make it easy an estimate that every tourist use an average of 10 000 baht in Thailand, which opposite to the before high number is a very low amount.”
Although you don’t quote a time period a tourist would spend more than 10,000 Baht even on a seven day holiday. Why bother coming to Thailand with only ฿10,000 in your pocket- 1
