will never change. thais are far too lazy to even attempt learning another language other than their own.
Bar girls pick up the English language quickly. One lady told me she could not speak a word of English when she started work in a bar, after 3 weeks she said she could communicate effectively. I think it is a matter wanting to learn

Can somebody please advise. I know a person needs Covid insurance for entry into Thailand. Is ordinary travel insurance also required? I am over 75 years of age and I find it difficult to obtain travel insurance. I would be on a 30 day tourist visa.

You read from time to time foreigners not being able to pay and I can see how that irks Thais and Thai hospitals. Its the fault of those guys skipping out on bills that we are in this mess. (people might say its not but im sure it is)
I think your spot on with your remark.
All would be ok if foreigners were charged the same rate as Thai nationals for hospitalisation

I could not see any "Dancing Elephant Logos" (DEL) at any bars in Soi 4 Nana.
There was a rotund lady outside Mc Donalds on Sukhamvit Rd, Nana with a DEL on her forehead

And there you have it folks......There is no prostitution....lol, then why is Thailand synonymous with Sex Tourism in places like Pattaya, Phuket and the seedy side of Bangkok nestled right in between multi million baht high rise condominiums. Alas, prostitution is the worlds oldest profession and as my GF recently pointed out by pointing towards 2 ladies standing just across the street from the Lumpini Police Station as we jogged outside of Lumpini Park, "Look they selling pussy again"
Thousands of Farangs marry them

Can you imagine if UK Borderforce did this for every illegal immigrant or overstayer in the UK?
For a start they would need 1000's more staff for finger pointing!
She does look like an international high security threat though!
Brown envelopes stopped when the husband died, then it became time to arrest the widow

Such a dangerous person?
Whilst I do not condone people who overstay or break the law, this lady is not really a threat to Thailand's security.
When the husband departed there were no more brown envelopes, so they nabbed the old lady

Scenery? Mediterranian is way nicer to me. Food? The one is too spicy for most of farang visitors... Well, can try, but look how many foreign-owned restairants serve European food - this is becasue of the demand from tourits who dont want to eat Thai food every day. Art?? What do You call art, this visuial garbage on the streets, covered by chaotic advertisements and ugly shop signs? Is there anyone who can walk and enjoy street architecture in Thailand?
Easy to come and low prices - the key for success! Cheap drinks and prostitution, too.
Drinks are only cheap at 7/11.

the bar industry cant survive this ,sex tourists are toast
I say Karma for the bar industry. Not the working girls, the bar owners are greedy and have been ripping off customers for years. They should at least give the girls 30% of the bar fine. Why pay 190 Baht for a warm beer in a bar, no aircon, when you can get the same at 7-Eleven for 42 Baht.

You bought Thai gold, take it to a metallurgist to have it assessed. I would not trust

You'll hate Thai conservative and puritanical values even more then. Thailand is a deeply conservative society even moreso than the West.
Trafficking and force is a huge part of the sex-for-sale industry which is why it is so big here.
They are very good at hiding it from naïve foreigners though, it's almost an art.
True. Bar girls are treated unfairly by their employers. A “bar fine” that is required to take a lady from the bar is “pimp money” If a bar girl meets up with a guy and decides to leave that form of employment “bond “ money has to be paid. Modern day slave labour

What are you saying with this? You don't believe them?
I am sceptical. I have met many men with Thai girlfriends/wives and not one has ever stated that their girlfriend/wife was a bar girl/prostitute before their relationship They have said their partner worked as a house maid, cook, cleaner etc etc all types of employment not associated with the "entertainment" industry. I know the stigma placed on a woman connected with the entertainment industry and don't want it to be known. I am aware that some relationships were formed and the woman did not work in the entertainment industry. I have no prejudice towards "working' girls, I associate with them regularly when I come to Thailand

A lot of former employees have not forgotten how former employers threw them on the scrap heap when the Covid first of all hit Bangkok. Also slave labour conditions, and paltry pay.
