thank you for your answer. We heard that before COVID, we can do that in any Thai embassy in any countries, so we think it will be the same , can do that in any province. It means he need to stay in Chiang Mai until he got the non b visa ?? How many days have to wait ? ( so much money in hotel ....... ) and is it only 2000 bahts? He is wondering if the immigration stuff request any extra money .......?

hello everyone, my friend got a job offer in Chiang Mai, currently he is living in Bangkok with tourist visa, I would like to ask does he have to go to the Chiang Mai immigration office to do the non-b visa? Can he do that in BKK first ? after he find a room then he do the work permit in Chiang Mai? as he told me he doesn't want to spend any extra money in hotel
