Received a 2nd notice 2 days ago. Never received the 1st notice. Mailed 2nd notice 1st class international mail for a butt-kicking 325 baht. Has happened before ~ 5 years ago.

Bought an elliptical trainer for my wife and I've been using it 5 days a week. Seems to help my "bad" knee alot. Better than walking in the park. Check it out.

Over pressure on m/c tires is a common habit in thailand. I never trust a service pressuring my tires. Inflate yourself is my suggestion.

Road accidents abounded with several involving rather foolish Pajero drivers. I love seeing those ugly cars and wonder if the drivers know what “pajero” means in Spanish.
I've met a few "jerks" in Pajeros before, but no "offs". ????

Just heard from my wife that after 5 days of onsite teaching 500 out of 1000 school kids in Roi et have contracted covid. They are being quarantined in the school. So much for opening up!

As of 9/13 - 2 shots of Pfizer.

Received my second shot on Monday (9/13) in Udon Thani, and after the wait time of approximately 30 minutes all that were injected passed by tables where they gave you your "proof of injection" paper which has the 13 digit number. Was asked if I needed a "vaccine passport". In that case I needed to go to the local gov. hospital. For 50 Bt and 7-10 days latter a passport would be provided

Thai bank's exchange rate is even worse than Wise. Just transfer using Wise which is near the market rate.
True, but in the case of a "bank" doing the exchange it is better using USD. BTW, using my credit union's standard ACH transfer rate charge ($45) it is better than Wise when transferring more than $10k.

Whichever bank you choose DO NOT transfer money in baht as you will get a very low exchange rate. Transfer as US denomination and let your Thai bank convert to baht.

Hi I too changed my visa extension from an O-A retirement to marriage in Udon Thani prior to the Thai health insurance requirement Oct. 31. My next extension based upon marriage is due in July 2020. Did they ask you for proof of health insurance for the marriage extension? Also, I too, was told the application fee was 2500 Baht. I did not question the extra 600 Baht fee because they were holding my application for the next 30 days.
I have an "O" visa (not O-A). Did not need proof of health insurance. Recent immigration changes have dictated health insurance for O-A visa holders as you stated. My suggestion is to call immigration as to their requirements.
As regards to the extra 600 Baht charge: It was obviously a trumped up charge!????

Did my first extension based on marriage at Udon Thani on Jan. 15th. Previously on retirement extensions. We needed an updated kor ror 2 no older than a week from the 15th (which we had). Also, a "meaningless" bank statement (from the bank...100 baht) which shows 6 months activity, but NOT including the current month ????. I am now "under consideration" until I report back Feb. 14th.
Side story:
Oh, and at the end the IO says: 2500 baht. I say: No, it's 1900 baht. He says: 500 baht charge from retirement to marriage. I say: It is not in any immigration rules/charges that I have read. So, caught with my gonies between my legs I put down the extra 500 baht while glaring at the IO. He takes it, and then surprisingly throws the 500 baht back on the table. Better watch my back when I come back there on the 14th Feb.????

Anyone know the approximate customs charge for a "pushchair" imported from the US? It's considered a medical device, and I've been told there is no duty on medical devices (such as wheelchairs) in Thailand (don't know for sure). I'd like to know if anyone has had any experience with this matter. Thanks in advance.
