IMHO everything is clear for 2024: remittance during 2024 of any money earned in 2024 is income. Then the DTA, if any, applies. But you may need to go to court to claim your tax credit.
The wise would avoid any to remit any money earned after Dec 31, 2023 for the next couple of years. And get an LTR if they can. Maybe recruit a good tax accountant.
The wise would not want to reside in the dump for over 180 days 🤣😂

Having said that, what they did was criminal.
Don't much fancy a set-to on their own, over the years I've challenged a few, everyone of the cowards bottled it. Most cowardly nation on the planet

I'll remain a Snowbird thank you very much. 6 months U.K. 6 months Thailand purely driven by the weather benefits. As far as I'm concerned anyone trying to live permanently in the Land of Scams needs treatment

Looks good, might be an alternative to a retirement VISA/extension.
Stay 180 days, extend once (assuming 1,900bht), border hop, rinse and repeat.
Averaging 3,900bht/year.
Around the same cost as a retirement extension with multi re-entry, but 300kbht less in the bank required.
Extension only once during 5 year duration of the visa. Can't rinse and repeat.

A Non-Immigrant visa allows you to open bank accounts, obtain a driving licence and other privileges that the 60 day stamps and DTV don't support.
Also, you don't qualify for the DTV, because you are a retiree, and that is not a category that it supports.
Rubbish I acquired a bank account and driving licence on a Tourist Visa no trouble

You'll still need an onward ticket to show airline before being allowed to board. Showing your intention of leaving Thailand within 60 days

Do his tyres. Leave a note on his bike telling him this will happen every couple of weeks unless he sorts himself out. Big Bike tyres ain't cheap 🤣👍😂

Start with the...
multiple entry, five-year DTV or Destination Thailand Visa
180 Days
After 180 days.
Do a border run get 60 days then get a extension 30 days then another border run 60 days plus another extension for 30 day
Then back to the five-year DTV or Destination Visa for another 180 days
Keep doing this for 5 years...
Then get a new five-year DTV or Destination Visa ......Lol
Rubbish, you would not be able to enter exempt whilst you have a current DTV. In place. They insist on you using your valid visa when current 180 days that's your lot.

Yet retirees are still jumping through ever more bureaucratic hoops, and doing 90 day reports.
They don't want Cheap Charlie retirees. Of which there are many thousands

I'd wait a while, there's a possibility they may have introduced the promised 60 day exempt entry by then.
