I was attacked by a foreigner about a month ago too. I sat down and he came to me and kicked me in my head. I had never seen that man before. I got payout of 20000 thb, but my CT scan and hospital bill was 13000. I still feel dizzy. He still walk free in Pattaya.

    Be careful, Pattaya is dangerous.

That's really not good! It sounds like there's a rogue foreigner on the loose in Pattaya. He's possibly only like that from being stuck in a sterile emasculated western country for so long during covid and is feeling disoriented about what best to do in Pattaya. Luckily there's enough girls to go around for everybody even nutjobs and they should be competent enough to quickly relieve his pent up stress.

Was it assault, yes ! Was it warranted Yes ! I dont care who you are or what the occasion, you run your mouth and insult someones wife, there will be consequences. Add to that rhe difficult relationship issues they have had recently its no wonder he jumped to her defence so publicly.

I don't buy this at all. Will Smith was laughing hard at the joke just like everyone else till he looked over at his wife and saw the expression on her face. It was like her telepathing him to do something about it, so like a little boy he does and thereby puts everything he has ever worked for at risk. Stupid and childish. Let's face it, the guy is just another emasculated woke Hollywood fruitcake running sh$t scared of his wife....look at some of the weird and wacky stuff he has on Youtube talking with his wife about their relationship. Just idiotic BS.

So what's up with the "indian men" thing?

Most Indian males are quite ugly in the eyes of Thai girls, many have large pot bellies and almost always a strong body odour follows them. Indian culture is male dominated and patriarchal, often they don't know how to properly treat girls. They can be cheap charlies and it is well known for them to share their drinks and girls, often seen negotiating to take a single girl between 4 or 5 men. Thai girls are many things, but they are not stupid and they see all this.

    So, nothing has changed.

I said it before. Thailand is utterly confusing it's hopeful tourist base to the point that the only sane thing to do is just wait a year or two unless you have family or are a desperate sex-pest.

This tells me that the people controlling the covid money machine simply can't let go. The nation be damned.

    "....or are a desperate sex-pest" I think I fit that bill! ???? ????

I ride every morning starting around 05:00, lights front and back to make sure I can be seen.

Most crossroads at that time are quiet with traffic lights favouring the primary direction flashing amber with flashing red lights for the secondary... I always cross with caution as early morning pick-ups with deliveries to make to the local markets never slow down for them or give-way even if they see me.

That's nuts. I'm sorry to say it, but you don't have long in this world if you continue to do that. You should cease and desist immediately and at least try to ride in the daylight after the morning rush is over. I can't think of a more dangerous activity than riding in Pattaya in the dark at that time of morning. I used to drive in the very early morning from Naklua to Laem Chabang through the backstreets of Banglamung and I can tell you there were plenty of accidents.

The way the question is asked implies you dont yet know the lie of the land in visa 'solutions'.

For now you can likely continue to get ongoing covid extensions due to an 'inability to travel' but these are going to be case by case, end at some stage, and are hence always a worry and not stress free.

If your not over 50 or married to a Thai (or working here, joining the monkhood or other such classes) you start running out of legal options fast.

You can pay 500k for a 5 year elite visa... Its actually not a terrible deal but you need to be sure your staying long term..

If your working and earning online you could go totally legal and pay Thai taxes etc via a BOI registered umbrella payroll (eg shelter sponsoredworkpermit etc) but this then means you need to pay real taxes, if you earn anything worthwhile (and you have to to qualify) you end up paying a fair amount for the legality. Lots more than an elite visa but you are then fully legal to work.

In your situation people often start learning Thai, really or half assed for the visa, to get an ED visa extension 90 days at a time.
People (in chiang mai) also get the military assisted 'self defense school' visa for hand to hand combat lessons. Amazing what money spinners pop up for the army once the junta takes control huh ??

People also pay agents to assist in obtaining volunteer visas, dodgy but happens..

I checked the Thai Elite site, I think that 5 year must be 600k now? I couldn't find anything for 500k?

Malaysia would be great if they weren't favoring muslims and have a dual law system (sharia + civil) where Muslims hold advantage over non-muslims (or infidels)

Agree. There is no way I would be retiring anywhere that is a muslim dominated society. Absolutely NO way. Why would you? No short time girls. No go go bars. No bikinis. Ugh, can't think of anything worse! Long live the infidel girls!!

A lot of "strange birds" hit the shores of Thailand.

Now, a strict "moralist" has joined the forum. His above comment indicates that he has absolutely no tolerance concerning other peoples livestyle.

Him writing stuff like this, while living in the probably most tolerant country on the globe! Amazing!

Some people should not be residing in Thailand. To such folks, I strongly recommend relocating to "zero tolerance" countries like China.

Oh don't worry, these moralists and evangelists are lurking here everywhere, always wanting to shove their 'moral' viewpoint down your throat. These so called morals they have are just them carrying guilty consciences that their little 'church' on the prairie ingrained into them about perfectly natural things. They give me the horrors actually.
I agree with you, why are they in Thailand, the most tolerant nation on earth?

I don't live in Trat. I'm in Bangkok FYI.

And yeah, people have other reasons to come to Thailand other than engaging in prostitution.

oh, of course they do....you mean to look at the tigers and temples?
