Actually, this is an excellent outcome. Most times this headline would read as '14 people killed when truck overturns' Then there would be the usual pictures of multiple bodies lying side-by-side on the road covered in sheets.

Usually it would also involve a squashed motorcyclist as well who had been overtaking on the inside when the truck overturned. Plus throw in a couple of innocent bystanders who may have been crossing the road there.

So the fact that no one was killed here is a bloody miracle.

Then you're either burying your head in the sand or otherwise the implication is that you're only watching pro-Russian, pro-Chinese reports. Which then leads us to conclude that you're a supporter of authoritarian states and autocratic rule. To those of us who grew up in the Pax Americana era, both of these are an anathema to us, as they invariably concentrate power and fabulous wealth at the very top few, whilst the other 99% of the nation scrapes by at or just above poverty level. Remember, absolute power corrupts absolutely. In regards to the American invasions of Arab states, the Gulf War was done to protect Kuwait against a completely unprovoked and unjustified Iraqi invasion. The second invasion was done because of the belief that Iraq were holding large stores of WMDs. This was understandable since Hussein had already used those weapons against his own people. But it was never intended to be a permanent occupation. It was a force sent in to cleanup corruption and restore order.

For the most part, America has acted as a kind of benevolent big brother figure, allowing most countries around the world to flourish under their world order and become quite rich in doing so. China is a perfect example of this. The problem we're facing now is that these authoritarian states have become inordinately rich and simply don't wish to respect the world order. They want to seize power and land thought to the use of violence and destroying other sovereign countries.

It's actually a fact that some people crave mega rules and thrive under authoritarian rule. All decision making is taken out of their hands and the state provides a huge amount of their day to day needs. My father is like this. He can't tell a lie, he can't break even the most insignificant rule. He would do well under authoritarian rule. But for the majority of us, we want to leave a life of freedom. Democracy is not perfect and has many flaws. It takes a high degree of personal responsibility and decision making to thrive under democracy, but at LEAST YOU'RE FREE!     

If Russia is counting you as a friend, then you know deep down inside that you're doing something wrong. Talk about setting a low benchmark for your country...

Does a caucasian Australian look any different from a caucasian British or American or French person? I mean apart from being generally of a more muscular build and handsome appearance, I think the caucasian Aussie is much the same appearance as other caucasians?

So they must've been muscular and handsome which led him to conclude that they were Australian.

Agree. And the ultimate hypocrisy they practice when praying 5 times a day to impress their god with how holy they are and then jumping on the girls all night long. Understandable I suppose, since the women in their home country are wandering around in bed sheets. They wouldn't be getting much there.

Tragic, this really made me emotional. This poor lady was looking after her elderly mum & dad, a mentally handicapped daughter and her grandson, who is now lying in hospital in a grievous condition. So many lives torn apart by this one incident, but what makes it worse is that this is an already poor family. Who will take care of mum & dad? Who will take care of the disabled daughter? Who will look after the little boy in hospital? Everyone here is vulnerable. I just hope that help is available on the ground for these guys. 

Geez, it's quite unbelievable how some people think hey? I mean, if I'm walking along a road like this and see a bench press located so close to such a shack, there's no f*&kin way I'm gonna touch it. Especially since it is so obviously homemade? Someone has taken the trouble to make it, it's a labour of love no matter how <deleted>ty it looks and he just doesn't want some sweaty farang using it. I can understand it.

I'm an optimist, so I'm hoping they might be keen on me when they see me? I pad my wallet out with tissue so it bulges my jeans, sometimes I might pad the front out also if I really want to stand out (they definitely they notice these things)

I read a few times that there is an element of the population that have a high innate immunity from past similar type infections (colds, flu etc) and just won't contract covid no matter what. I hope I'm one of those as I haven't picked it up yet despite not really taking any additional precautions. Then there are also some who didn't get it so far because they radically modified their lifestyle to hide from it. Maybe they will get it when they finally come out from under the doona and barfine their first skinny little bar girl in a couple of years and then she's dripping sweat and panting all over them upstairs in the short time room. Ahh, the good old days are nearly here!
