  1. I was in contact with kbv visa runs in Phuket and they stated even after October 1st the maximum stamp for visa exempt at land borders is 30 days. The 45 days only applies to tourists who arrive by air. Does anyone know if that is correct? Thanks
  2. I lived in Hatyai almost 3 years and recently moved away. There are many foreigners but most don't venture out a lot. In my condo building alone there were 5 or 6. Before covid Hatyai was a friendly place. Since covid fear and racism in Hatyai is bigger than anywhere else and people would hold their masks when they say us. We also had a woman scream at the driver of a songtaew we were on saying "foreigners shouldn't be allowed". Another Chinese restaurant wouldn't let us sit inside. I think after a few months you will hate the place
  3. Songkhla haven't done covid extensions since early last year. I lived in Songkhla and had to travel to Krabi each time. They wouldn't even do for my friend with embassy letter
  4. I uploaded a pdf file stating "not applicable" in the sections that didn't apply to me. I also uploaded a bank statement, flights and hotels as well as the declaration form. I was declined twice in 8 days. I just received an email saying "visa application closed". I emailed them and even called with no response. Eventually I gave up and came on visa exempt. That was in may and after over a month received a response saying I didn't upload enough documents. Luckily I now on covid extension so it worked out fine
  5. Yes I messaged 2 different agents in Krabi and agreed on 5,000. The other wanted 6,000. I have to go with her tomorrow to the same immigration that refused me yesterday to take photo. Ha. Thanks for all the replies.
  6. To be fair those "long time lurkers" kept many hotels and condos open in places like Phuket during Covid, without them many more would of been unemployed. Fact. They should be allowed to stay as long as they want, and most of them will regardless of covid extensions.
  7. I just booked my flight yesterday and it was the cheapest ever. 14500 for 3 flights. Hatyai to Bangkok with Thai smile and Bangkok to Dublin via Doha with Qatar.
  8. My visa expires on July 12 and my flight home is September 5. Has anybody on visa exempt had any success in Phuket or anywhere else? Cheers
  9. I arrived in Thailand on may 14th by visa exempt and extended by 30 days. Initially I applied for a tourist visa from UK embassy online but was rejected as they said I didn't give enough documents despite showing bank statements and flight tickets. So I thought I could do a covid extension. Last week I tried Songkhla immigration and they said they no longer do as border to Malaysia is open. I had flight tickets and hotel booking but still rejected. So yesterday I tried Krabi immigration and same story. They said they are only giving to people with embassy letters. I had 2 covid extensions last year in krabi and it was very easy. They wanted 3000 but I negotiated 2500. This time even I offered 3000 but they said it is not possible without embassy letter. Is it worth my while trying Phuket immigration? Thanks
  10. About 5 hours to Krabi but I planned to travel there anyway for a week. I just want to be relatively sure they are giving first. The other alternative is to travel 4 hours to Penang on a minivan and have to stay 24 hours and they are very strict on border. Thanks
  11. Hi. Thanks in advance. I arrived by visa exempt in may and extended 30 days until July 12. I attempted to get a tourist visa before I arrived but the whole process was impossible and they cancelled my application. My flight home is on August 7 and I thought I could do a covid extension. However, Songkhla immigration say they are no longer doing covid extensions. My question is where is the easiest immigration to get a covid extension? I was thinking Krabi or Phuket. Thanks very much
  12. Just a quick one. When I extend my visa exempt by 30 days, will they give me an under consideration or is it immediate? Also my visa expires on Sunday may 12. I can go on Monday may 13 right? Cheers
  13. Is it possible to get a covid extension on visa exempt without an embassy letter? Thanks
  14. I looked at the reviews of the embassy and they don't care one bit. They don't answer calls or emails. I will have to travel without visa
  15. Thanks for replies. The visa says "finished" on the e visa website. But they have cancelled according to the email and there is no attachment to download. I've been looking into it and I'm not the only one. Many people have had visa application cancelled for no apparent reason. Because of this I have just moved my flight from may 30 to June 13 to give extra time. I'm not sure what to do next as they don't reply to emails. I gave everything requested and more.
  16. Yes I paid in full. The money has been taken from my account by kasikorn bank. The UK embassy in London processes the visa applications for the UK and Ireland.
  17. Ok great. I'm an Irish citizen. I applied through the Thai e visa online to the UK embassy. I have never overstayed. I am 41. My most recent visit was with a tourist visa and although I did get covid extensions I left in February, one month before my visa was due to expire. I emailed the embassy before I applied and they told me everything required and I did all that, bank statements, flights , decoration form, photo and photo me with passport. Thanks
  18. Hi. I had applied 5 days ago for a tourist visa and just received an auto reply saying it had been cancelled with no further information. I did everything right and sent bank statement, copy of flights, decoration form, photos. They have not given me a reason and I have no idea what to do. Has anyone else experienced this and what did they do? Thanks in advance
  19. Hi guys, I am currently waiting for my tourist visa from London embassy after my online application. I sent them a copy of my flights on June 25. My question is if I decide to arrive sooner on may 30 will my visa be valid. Do they date it from June 25 or when the visa is issued. Thanks in advance Leon
  20. Hi guys I emailed London embassy and was told proof of onward travel is not required for UK and Irish citizens.
  21. Hi. I've been trying to complete my application for a tourist visa and having difficulties. Maybe others have completed the process and can help. I'm applying on "thaievisa" to the London embassy. On the website in the documents required section there are about 13 documents listed. Included are name of sponsor, letter from employers etc. None of which are required for tourist visa. You cannot leave them blank or else not able to proceed. My question is what have other people done? Also they want financial proof of 20,000 baht. My most recent statement is Dec to Feb, will that be okay?. I don't have a statement for this month and cannot take screenshot on my app. Also pointless as my current balance not have my name. Cheers
  22. If I book a return flight with the same airline for 50 days later they will know the temporary ticket not real. To buy 2 separate tickets cost an extra 250euro plus the temporary ticket. So basically the maximum people can go to Thailand for without a work or marriage visa is 29 days. I tried to get a tourist e-visa online. They are asking for things like declaration from employers, financial statements, names and letters of the people I intend to stay with.
  23. Thanks in advance, trying to get a clear answer before I book my flight. I am going to Thailand in April or May under the "test and go". I intend to stay about 50 days. I will get 30 days on visa exempt and I will extend by 30 more days at immigration. On every embassy website I look it says I need proof of onward travel or return ticket within 30 days. Also on finnair website it says same. But my ticket will be 50 days later. The airline will know that also at check in as they will see my return date. What do other people do in this situation? I attempted to apply for a tourist visa online but they want 13 documents such as who I intend to stay with and letters from employers and it takes up to a month.
