Because at most border crossing the immigration officers are much less likely to deny entry. And it is very difficult for them to deny entry and send you back to the other country you were in.

Someone suggested I can do a border bounce (as long as I cross by land in Nong Khai) even with a warning I've gotten by immigration in BKK. Would you agree or it's a safer bet to cross with a new TR visa? Thanks.

The immigration officer at border was a dill.

    Which border BTW.

As for tourist visa from Phnom Penh, I assume this is your first from there.

PP (pre covid) were sometimes rejecting second/third applications.

Issue is the visa was stuck into pp with big VOID stamp.

Not sure about flights from Samui (Bangkok airlines) to Saigon but that's a good place for tourist visa.

Edit: just checked flights. Nothing direct from Samui to Saigon. Forget that idea.

That’s ok. I can fly back to Samui via Singapore.

How’s Vientiane for tourist visa, do you know? Better than Phnom Penh?

With a tourist visa should have no issues.

Where would you be planning to obtain the tourist visa and will you reentry via land or air.

You mention that your tourist visa is soon to expire soon.

Assume that you are aware you can make 2 visa exempt entries via land per calendar year.

That shortly will give 45 day stay that can be extended by 30.

Why not do a border bounce.

The plan is to get the visa in Phnom Penh and fly back. Samui being the entry point (apparently they’re not as strict as BKK).

I don’t want to do a border bounce because when I tried doing it last time back in May, the immigration officer warned me that next time I’ll be denied entry unless I have a valid visa. Reason is my previous stay was over 4 months on Covid stamps.

perhaps LOW on fluid......get the rental people to check......or go yourself to toyota......

Checked at Toyota dealer. Everything is normal. I guess it’s just how Fortuners are, poor handling overall. Everest and Pajero are much better in that regard.

  5. Anyone find that Fortuner's steering is way too hard? I'm renting a 2.4L 4x4 with only 4000km and the steering is much heavier than on any other car I've driven before. I'm considering buying a new 2.8L 4x4 but this steering issue might be a deal breaker for me. Wondering if this is how it is with Fortuners or it's just the one I'm renting that has a problem. Thanks.

  6. Hi everyone.

Can you register a car with a tourist visa and resident certificate? According to One2car, the Department of Land and Transport requires a Non-Immigrant visa. However people are posting tourist visa works just fine as long you've got a resident certificate. Which one is it?

    Many thanks.

  7. Hey guys,

I plan to purchase a return ticket that's different from the inbound one. It'll be under a different reservation and not to my home country. In other words when going to Thailand, I'll have 2 one way tickets on hand. One ticket is from my home country to Thailand, the other from Thailand to a third country.

Could that cause a problem with COE or airport checkin?

    thanks
