The actions taken by those in power far exceed the impact of the flu virus. The economic results to the tourism cannot come as a surprise to anyone.

14 days is still too long
-
My country is on the list...wonderful,but that doesn't change the fact the 14 day or 10 day quarantine is still in effect and a non starter. They're dreaming if they think tourists are coming in droves with that hanging over their heads.

Might not be a bad idea to have the tourism minister be the first one to launch into outer space.

You are aware that we are discussing a story about a man in pattaya who feels he was ripped off for a plate of rice he ordered in a restraunt with a clearly printed menu, right?
Perhaps we should find you a national parks thread.
Not sure what you and the missus having a day out in khao yai has to do with much of anything, but everyone has a right to be heard . Thanks for sharing.
It extends beyond park admissions, there's other businesses doing the same thing.

I had the same at Khao Yai. No problem for me as I thought it was good value for the price I paid. Not interested in what a Thai pays.
I accept it as well, just pointing it out to the guy is all.

it's not the diamond ring that got me(i'm not that cheap or stupid) it's the fact i just met her a week before.lol

Most Thai people in Pattaya are from Issan.
My experience with Issan's was they like their food spicy hot and the women want a diamond ring on their birthday .

I went to Pattaya the first time when i was a 'greenhorn"just to experience walking street, haven't been back since. This story confirms why.

So all these tourists will be coming from the same place?
Seems odd.
It'll be a milk run.Pick up a few passengers in Brussels.A few more in Russia on and on until the plane is full.By the time it lands they'll have done the 14 day quarantine. Saves the cost of a hotel room too.

It's now easier to run the gauntlet for a C of E.
-
It's inaccurate to blame it on tourism alone.A lack of infrastructure is a major contributor to the problem. Some as simple as having more garbage bins.Having them emptied regularly instead of the overflowing eye sore we see.Hire more people to maintain cleanliness. The solutions are readily available the will/initiative to do so not so much.
-
I've read numerous complaints about the garbage strewn on some popular beaches. The government should institute a program for people out of work in the tourist industry to clean 'em up.Gives them an income to tide them over until tourism opens up again and gets the beaches in an astatically pleasing condition.
