  1. Why buy it? Just make your own, also great for toad in the hole

    Yorkshire Pudding

    Serves 4-6

    300ml (½ pint) Milk

    110g (4 oz) Plain Flour

    1 Egg

    Oil, Lard or Dripping

Place the flour in a bowl, then make a well in the centre and break in the egg.

Mix in half the milk using a wooden spoon, work the mixture until smooth then add the

    remaining milk.

Beat or whisk until fully combined and the surface is covered with tiny bubbles.

Allow to rest for 15 to 30 minutes, whisk again before use.

    Pre-heat oven to 220°C; 425°F: Gas 7.

Place a teaspoon of fat into 12 individual deep bun tins or a single large tin and place in the oven until the fat is very hot.

Pour the batter into the tins and bake for 10 to 15 minutes for individual puddings (or 30 to 35 minutes if using a large tin) or until risen and golden brown.

  2. Cars in 'normal' colours have a better resale value than those in fashionable colours such as the purples, bronzes and apple greens. Paint manufacturers do not seem to have perfected a 'colour fast' red and sometimes on red cars you have individual panels fading, check the redness of older cars and motor bikes. Some UK insurance companies, I believe, now add on a premium to red car insurance coverage as the drivers are presumed to be fast and dangerous! Some cars do not look good in certain colours - I would not have a Ferrari in any colour but red. An insurance company survey in the UK suggests that the best colour to get is yellow - for some reason, car thieves do not steal these very often.

My worst colour buy was a Triumph Spitfire. I bought it in a pub many, many years ago for £75 and under the street lights it looked red. Imagine my surprise when I looked at it the following morning in the daylight - shocking pink! It was sold later in the day for £110

  3. I cycled across Saudi Arabia

I shut down Jeddah Airport for over an hour because with had no medical cover - all ambulances attending a major traffic incident off site

I had a kick-about in a back garden with most of the Busby Babes.

I had lunch with Idi Amin at the Red Sea Palace Hotel, Jeddah

  4. Some of those would not make my list but every one's list will be different. My top five would be:-

    1) Charlton

    2) Law

    3) Best

    4) Edwards

    5) Taylor

Who are in your top five?

Just a hypothetical question - how many of the modern stars would perform well and for a full 90 minutes on a cold and rainy November night using 1950s kit complete with boots and the old leather 'casey' ball? Every time that I headed one, I would get the laces on my forehead.

  5. There's been a lot of talk about the new 90 days in a 180 day period for Visa exemptions. There are a lot of rumors flying and a lot of people are worried. My personal opinion is that the rule will never be enforced, and was just put on the books for certain "undesirables."

Having said all that, I still woudn't want to take my chance with a border run after Jan 1st. I've already gotten my tourist visa and I highly suggest others do the same.

You think the new regulations won't be enforced but you don't want to take the chance. Why not?

  6. Russia is now considered as part of Europe but Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia and Turkmenistan are all competing.

China are leading the medal table with 287 medals, India have 51 medals, Pakistan - 3, Bangladesh - 1 and Sri Lanka - 3. Thailand are fifth in the table with 52. No Thai cycling medals yet.

Thai TV will naturally concentrate on events where nationals are competing as your home country does for the Olympics.

There has been no shift in geography - as far as I know.

  7. When I was young, Rudolf Larsson, lived across the road from us. He was a retired Norwegian sea captain and had long flowing flame red locks and a full beard. No-one in the neighbourhood ever went on holiday or arranged a wedding without consulting Captain Rudi because his weather forecasts were always accurate."My daughter's getting married on August 17th" - "Make sure that the outside photos are taken before 3 o'clock as it will rain at about 3:30 but only for one hour". "Late spring holiday? Just a bit colder than usual but no rain". I have never known him to be wrong!

I must have been about 8 or 9 when I asked Mum, "How can Captain Rudi tell what the weather will do?

    "Well, son.........................

Rudolf the red knows rain, deer!"

  8. RWA, I don't think I have ever read such generalised, racist and puerile drivel.

Generalised? yes. Racist and puerile? definately not.

To call it racist is to kill the debate, there are differences in cultures and to have a negative view of another culture is not racist as such. The intentions of a Thai/foreign relationship can be easily misunderstood, and it has caused a lot of people a lot of problems.

Puerile means childish or simplistic, there is nothing simplistic about what RWA is trying to get across.

I do agree that paragraphs would help, but he is not a native speaker.

However RWA does sound like he is speaking from experience and a lot of what he says rings true.

After such blatent trolling from the OP it's good to get an honest opinion, even if you don't agree with it.

I stand by my posting and my words were carefully chosen. "....they'll be always behaving/acting kinda inadequate if "let alone" on their own, without any DAILY care, guidance, leading, etc., ... it's not their fault and nothing they can do with it ... they are not really used to "think", decide and act alone...(and once again - a "two" or even "three" is still to be "alone" in fact)...", that quote is not about the culture but about the people. Another quote "...you think you are getting a wife - a partner, a soulmate, etc., ?! ... noh, you are a getting a "child" you must know how to take care of ... ", again not cultural but racist.
