Thank you so much for that. It will reassure her and allow her to sleep better.

Trying to help Cambodian friend w/ visa issue leave Thailand
From what I see on social media and knowing how the Thais treat Cambodians in general, I think it gets pretty nasty at this point.

Gaza: We are dying slowly, save us !
Should have thought of that when they put Hamas in power and continue to support them. Had they chosen peace, they'd be in a vastly different situation about now.

Trying to help Cambodian friend w/ visa issue leave Thailand
She was stamped in for 2 years when arriving in April 2024 with a LA visa.. When she changed employer and obtained a new WP last Feb, she didn't think to update her visa. So I'm assuming she has technically overstayed since the old WP was cancelled.

Trying to help Cambodian friend w/ visa issue leave Thailand
Okay. Thanks for looking out. The name on the stamp, I think, was the person issuing the visa at the Consulate in Cambodia.

I was beginning to think that as well. Good to get an expert's opinion. Thank you.

Trying to help Cambodian friend w/ visa issue leave Thailand
My Cambodian friend has had enough with the verbal abuses and wants to go home. But she just realized she hasn't filed a TM-7 Extension of Stay when she switched jobs a year ago. Her work permit is still valid and she is still working. She also has not filed any 90 day reporting either for at least the same time frame. I think she just assumed a work permit was all she needed, with no one telling her about the visa requirements. If she just shows up at the airport to leave, will she be subject to being detained? If a fine at the airport is an easier and cheaper way to deal with the situation than trying to resolve it at the immigration (and possibly needing an agent) before leaving, that would be preferred. Her English and Thai are limited.

Thailand Lowers Flags to Half-Mast for President Raisi
Can't make this sh!t up. When you think you've seen it all, they always have a way to surprise you. One of a myriad of things that tells the world whose side they're on. Cobra Gold? US navy port calls? Mere facades and smoke screens that does nothing more than to keep $$ flowing in.

Meh. My country has it even easier. No exit formalities whatsoever.

Wrong! Don't state things you have no idea about.

Thailand's Immigration Launches Automated Passport Control
Singapore and many other first world countries have inbound auto gate systems. I guess they are not as concerned about their national security as Thailand.

New Friendly Green-and-Yellow Police Vest to Enhance Safety Has Been Unveiled
Don't seem to be any different than the current ones. At least visibility-wise. They are too occupied putting out scandals-du-jour and addressing b.s. issues like these to deal with the real problems.

New Police Hairstyle Regulations on the Horizon
They are civilian peace officers and not military. The purpose of uniform regulations is to enforce good order and discipline but they've proven over the decades that that's not working.
