Hello
My UK passport expires next year.
Question - when you renew a UK passport, do you retain the same passport number, or is it a new passport number??
Thanks

<<<In real world tests it has shown to be almost as affective if not equivilent to any vaccine.>>>
Please post links to any large scale randomised control trials that show this result.

- what happens if you vaccine dates run out when on holiday - could you be barred from the flight home ?
Simple. You won't be allowed on the flight in the first place, just like you won't be allowed on if your passport has less than 6 months to go until expiration date.

Any suggestions for a Pattaya-based agent that can do a UK passport renewal??
If you have other reasons to regularly go to Bangkok, then I understand doing it yourself probably not too difficult.
But if you don't want to travel to Bangkok twice, and you have plenty of time, probably easier to use an agent.

You apply through VFS in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. Your new passport is collected from VFS. In the meantime you retain your existing passport for ID purposes. Everything is clearly explained at gov.uk
I was thinking of old passport retention in case there is a delay, and you have to do the 90 day reporting before you get new passport.

Passport applications and renewals are managed by Her Majesty’s Passport Office in the UK, not the Embassy or the Consular team, so we don't have anything to add to the good advice others have shared here or the info on the HMPO website.
I am confused. You are saying it must be done in the UK??
I cannot renew my UK passport in Thailand?

By the end of the year we will all look back, all having been vaccinated and say, same day, same place, same smell.
..end of which year?

There are 1000 good videos on YouTube by many doctors saying drug, x, y and z work for Covid - all without any large scale, randomised, placebo-controlled trials to back them up.
I gave you link to the statement from Merck that said "there is no proof it works" - they are the manufacturer, so they would make millions of dollars if it did work, so if even they say it does not work, I don't know what more information you need!

I have started taking Invermectin, which could help in not getting Covid.
Why do you believe that?
From the manufacturer of Ivermectin:
https://www.merck.com/news/merck-statement-on-ivermectin-use-during-the-covid-19-pandemic/
Whe WHO, the FDA, the NIH, the EMA have all recently stated that there is no good evidence for the use of Ivermectin.
A summary from Reuters:
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-ivermectin-idUSKBN2BN2HH
There might be in the future when they do some robust trials, but not yet.
Anyone taking Ivermectin is just guessing

this medicine, as generic, is made also in china and india, and probably cheaper than japanese.
those 900k is for some 30-40k patients. Might be short, if thousands needing it for around 10 days.
The GPO makes their own and cheap azithromycin (approved recently by who) and tamiflu (that's another another generic antiviral, used in thailand for covid at the beginning of the last year).
And have any of these drugs been involved in large scale clinical trials for Covid?
If not, then the scientific description is "clutching at straws"

I live in Pattaya and travel to Bangkok every six months to see a wonderful doctor at the Red Cross Clinic, have my blood test results for CD4 and Viral Load with me, and receive my two medications for the next six months, at a total cost of 4,480 Baht. Excellent clinic and lovely staff.
I did not realise they had a doctor on site.
So, the Thai Red Cross doctor reviews your test results, writes the prescription for meds, and you collect the meds??
The TRC told me I had to bring a doctor prescription with me, but maybe I phrased the question wrong.
Getting a Pattaya hospital to give me a prescription to take away, rather than buy from the hospital pharmacy, is like getting blood out of a stone!

I hope they have the army and high wire fences to keep people inside. I cannot believe anyone will voluntarily stay in their hotel when they know the Pattaya nightlife is only a short motor cycle taxi away!

AZ recalled 1.7 million doses. Probably made at their India plant. And you call the Chinese stuff dodgy? So far, no known deaths from the Chinese jab. And it's been widely used globally.
The biggest risk right now is getting covid-19. All of the major vaccines have 99.9% efficacy against death and severe hospitalization. Get the jab. Whatever you can get. Odds are we'll be dealing with variants for years to come. Possibly having to get updated jabs every year. Just like we do with the flu today.
What is your source for AZ recalling 1.7m doses?
