  1. I live in the UK and see people buying plastic bottles of water when tap water is safe to drink. I think here that tap water isn't safe to drink. If it was made safe, people wouldn't waste their money buying water and there would be one less plastic waste issue. The same in most 3rd world countries. I was in phuket a few months ago and there was a lot of plastic waste washed up on the beaches including plenty of bottles.

  2. I have been visiting Thailand several times a year for 5 years. Last night I arrived at Suvarnabhumi and was grilled for about an hour before they let me through to my test and go hotel. Last year I stayed in Thailand 90 days through the phuket sandbox, returning to the UK on 20th October. Is there a limit to the number of times I can enter? The IMO said he was sending my file to the chiang mai IO so I should get a retirement visa. This all seems very odd. I come here and spend money on hotels, restaurants, taxis etc which is what they want, isn't it?

  3. I have just registered for COE for phuket sandbox. I have booked hotels and have insurance etc. I left Thailand on March 18th last year. I arrived with visa exempt 30 days and extended it for another 30 days. I am retired now and this visit, starting 23rd July, I would like to stay for 3 months. I believe this is possible. What sort of documentation will I need? Eg. I believe I must show proof that I can support myself financially. I stupidly? booked a flight from UK with a 3 month return. I can alter the return flight but I think I will be charged for this. Any help or ideas welcomed.

Recently finished 'Slaves in the Family' by Edward Ball-an amazing read.

I have just started The mirror and the light, the final book of the trilogy. 875 pages. She is an amazing writer. I have never read any historical fiction until I read the first book, Wolf hall. I was hooked.

  5. I am in the UK waiting to return to Thailand. I had the Pfizer 1st dose on January 24th. They say the next dose will be in 10 to 12 weeks from 1st dose. It may not be the Pfizer vaccination which is difficult to store. There is data that there may be benefit from having different vaccines as they each have different ways of stimulating the immune system. Btw. I came back to the UK in March last year and had Covid a few weeks later. It wasn't so bad.
