i think soi 8 very slow in coming back and soin7 not much better but the bars are open. However for years i have found soi 7 and 8 to be dull. There is a recent thread started about pattaya recovery since the end of covid restrictions

Only had one good flight out of dozens and then I paid premium economy. The worst, most impolite crew I've ever experienced frequently hostile and confrontional.
Yes ' parts of Pattaya is Buzzin but it's patchy. And of course the Indians count. They eat, drink, travel, stay in hotels and have their own clubs and restaurants- but they don't have our drinking culture or drink where we do.
Regular taxi in Pattaya 300 baht
BOLT Taxi 65 baht
In London Regular taxi £125
UBER 35£
The new taxi services are HEROES who have liberated us, made taxis affordable for night economy workers and now there is no excuse for drunk driving.
Yes indeed. There is a big difference between a bar and a pub. I found best pubs in Bangkok and Pattaya and there is a pub in Issan - The Clock tower. One or two in CM. But Thailand has mainly bars. Interestingly What the Thais call pubs we would call night clubs.
Perhaps the OP, who doesn't know about Thailand as he posts from outside of here, should have asked: 'What are the best drinking establishments in Thailand?'
As gradual awareness of their availability is spreading I think interest is rising. Plus the current covid sweeping through Pattaya is ferocious by all accounts especially for the unvaccinated or non boostered.
The shots we had last year have worn off I think.
The west coast of Scotland has gulf currents and palm trees and cacti grow there. The mull of Galloway is beautiful but home to some of the worst midges in the world.
I don't really understand what the OP is suggesting. I thought You can still roll up here for a 30 day visa/ no visa for most nationalities. And you can still extend.
Is the OP suggesting this is not possible?
Nowhere here is back to pre Covid levels thankfully- but wait until the high season November to February. But without the Chinese mass tourism things will always be quieter I guess.
Very informative. What is your main take and what would be your advice? I would like to know what would have happened if nobody had done anything. Would the deceased receive a 'paupers cremation'
Spain has also introduced a ban on smoking too on beaches. Its takes 9 years for a cigarette butt to disintegrate until which time it remains unsightly and toxic to wild life. But I see no reason why they shouldn't have smoking areas near the road side of beaches or near the toilets.
The child has no control over what he wears. It's his parents' responsibility. In this instance the child was the subject of abuse and publicly shamed. It was a private matter that could and should have dealt with using a sealed envelope, email or telephone. The teacher in question will be warned no doubt and hopefully not do it again. Perhaps she should be forced to walk round with a label on her

Some people might feel the casual, public dehumanisation and humiliation of a child might be a real issue or symptomatic of real issue one of which is the disrespect for children's rights and the ignoring their feelings.
