It would not surprise me that due to an alarming level of " vaccination hesitancy" in significant numbers of people in many locations that it is possible that there are reserves of AZ specifically that are becoming available due to impending "use by date" expiry ..An example may be seen in the Bhutan exchange deal which ostensibly involves only transportation costs set against returns of contracted forward orders to avoid a "use it or lose it" situation . I am increasingly becoming disgusted by the geopolitical endorsement or suppression of viable alternatives to minimize the impact of the "covid-19 pandemic" which has quickly manipulated populations to subscribe to the messaging of big money marketing and political adversity. Not so different to "Coca Cola is better than Pepsi Cola! Is it? In the background multiple "Colas" happily and successfully find a market. Ok. Maybe a poor analogy in some sense but in reality , like colas, a vaccine of demonstrated merit big or small, is still a purposed vaccine to suit that purpose. The usual critics will ignore the fact that societies and communities are oblivious to the machinations politically applied to the lives they believe they live good or bad in result

The only issues I have had with Thai Post over the years has not been with the international process but with the very local delivery service. That has actually improved dramatically over the last few years including the "covid" times even including junk mail". I credit the prolific Courier Companies for that competition. Admittedly I have only once sent outgoing mail but to send a "solid gold watch" by any Postal Service is something I would hesitate in doing Tracked or even Registered services.

I think that the situation is fairly well understood in terms of the issues about the limited availablity for preferred vaccines. But I think where possible in provinces outside of the greater Bangkok or other hot spot areas those in the 60+ and perhaps now expats specifically who are registered in some method or other will be offered AZ. Otherwise it will probably be Sinovac or maybe Sinopharm if under 60 and having no recorded serious health preconditions. I doubt Pfizer will escape the clutches of the predetermined .

With a Non O it should not be a question ( I think). Just before covid shut borders I changed from Non OA to Non O via Laos. Subsequent renewals have never required insurance.

If you have the appropriate seasoned cash balance the paper work is much the same with the exception of photographs and then the awaiting approval bs and home visit. One thought is perhaps your initial visa ..O or OA might be factor if they still insist on retirement extensions having some health insurance ? Ubon J could clarify ?

Many years ago I underwent a course of Ivermectin treatment for suspected microfilaria. Initially tablets and 1 final time an injection. I was taking 24 (3x8)milligrams orally every 7 days . I do not know what the jab volume was but I know it was excrutiatingly flocking painful. I was not aware of any side effects whatsoever. The diagnosis of micofilaria withdrawn after 3 months due to know response to symptoms . But I think if I'd pee'd in the bushes at that time even earthworms would have done a runner !

Sneer on. But also consider that the claims were adamant that a simple "tweak" could be made for the dominant vaccines to cope with variants. The original mRNA vaccines were developed and approved for emergency use in about 6 months. The Delta variant arose 9 months ago and has gained dominance in infections globally. Has anyone heard one peep about any "Tweaks" ? If multiple countries, even by way of collective R&D, can successfully make those countries less beholden to foreign corporate and political manipulation then gaining the capacity is an asset in that sense alone. Not a wise thing to ignore the application of that technology to any new or even existing diseases.

Maybe so. Others have said they have been scheduled for 16 weeks. But also have said been rescheduled to around 12 weeks which I believe is the general recommendation now. Mine was set down for 19 October after first shot 27th July.

For AZ the 2nd jab would be12 weeks in the future from 18th July so plenty of time to get the sms.

Did you not get anything at the time? A receipt of some kind acknowledging the first jab which would/should have a nominated date for second. Or check on the Ruamjai site?

I feel obliged to add that there is an obvious expectation that a year from now the need for effective vaccines will still be considered a necessity and that is before other concerning variants may arise. If not then at least the capacity and tech knowledge will exist if yet another contagion erupts .

Stupid stupid comments ! Global attempts to produce a vaccine effective against covid-19 number in the 100's. That 4 purportedly based in Thailand have made it as far as human trials is positive news. That even one eventually proves viable efficacy etc is one step closer to equitable provision of protection for those who choose it.

Why do people subscribe to this kind of stuff? No more interesting than watching just one person watching it!

No excuses for the owner of these dogs in that they have been permitted or maybe encouraged to be vicious . If a small child tries to retrieve a ball or some object that is even marginally inside the "territory" of these dogs is it acceptable that limbs are so mangled that need amputation? I know of 1 or 2 people who have such dogs and I also know their motivation for having is not for honest reasons.

Simila story here. Twice people came around making lists of people 'willing" to get a vaccination. Both times I was included but several weeks went by and nothing more until my wife found out a "selected" group who were a mix of high and low priority had been called in and vaccinated. My wife bailed up one of the local co-ordinators who had compiled the original list/s and asked why exclusion? The excuse was " Oh sorry , I forgot" ! But I think the truth was that despite having a list the amount of vaccine allocated was short of people numbers so a degree of selectivity was applied. 3 weeks on a we got a call to hurry in to the vaccination center, assisted through the process by said co-ordinator ahead of others in queue and we both received first shot of AZ. By age I am in the high priority category but my wife is not nor has any health issues. I understand I have been lucky while other expats are in various states of limbo. However I know of quite few other local expats who received vaccintions well prior to myself but by same process. Some got Sino (under 60) and the others AZ. My conclusion now is that while Central Govt. is taking the flack there have been quiet distributions to at least some Provinces and it is at that Provincial level that "discretionary" onward distribution has occurred. I would make clear that I am 96 kms from a city, 22 kms from my local Amphur in a small village. Given the apparent difficulty reported here by many only makes me more grateful to have at least already 'entered the system". But I do hope this latest declared intent to extend vaccine availability will be properly administered even if probably be a concession to international pressure.

That would work for an account that can be accessed via ATM card. Unfortunately for myself and probably others with an obligatory fixed deposit account holding funds for extension purposes there is no ATM card access, only counter withdrawals.

IMO it is extortionism. Pfizer's projected annual profit for this covid vaccine is 50 billion. Moderna 30 billion. And Moderna ,a Start Up Parent Company accepted US Federal funding . Pfizer did not but demanded guaranteed orders before commiting to development. And both have assisted in demeaning competition.

Is AZ not still being produced and sold for just above cost ? Unlike Pfizer who as soon as they learned the EU was rejecting AZ pumped up their price in the knowledge of gaining a much larger paying market !

Is that like when a careless driver survives a terrible car crash unscathed while others in same vehicle die or are permanently maimed ?

I know many damn good people also. Not one of them is a Monk. The "genuine" Monks around here died years ago and those remaining have never attended formal theological education. They are self exiled escapees from paternal, financial, criminal responsibilites who act as collection agents for the central organization that calls every month for a major cut of the cash collection!
