Thai TV star Tangmo still missing, search continues
Nojohndoe replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
True to life factors opposed to conspiracy at times come into conflict. Is it unreasonable to consider that while there is genuine grief attributable to this woman's demise that there is also probably an imperative to establish cause of death was not suicide due to the terms and conditions of a Life Insurance Policy ! -
There are or have been seasonal edicts prohibiting burn offs which I think are mostly Provincial backed by Central Govt. endorsment but like so many things generally get ignored. Having said that there does seem to have been less burning and more baling this year of rice straw at least but sadly am noticing the black smoke announcing the inevitable black snow from cane ! Few farmers invest in major machinery basically because returns from crops are no way capable of servicing purchase debt. . The braver ones who do commit rely on earnings from fellow small croppers in addition to their own ( Family collective ? ). I have never yet come across a full time agricultural "Contractor" in our vicinity but in other places they possibly exist. That applies to balers as well. In fact most machinery other than tractors. Originally I bought a near new small Kubota 3408 that for the very reduced cash price came with several attachments and a trailer. 16 years back there were far fewer tractors and the demand was growing. Now although there are many, bigger, better (?) and at times people willing to pay must wait due to various factors such as but not only the weather. It has been a long time (Years) since I have allowed my poor wee tractor to be abused on behalf of others basically because in the time I have had it and the work it has done for me/us that goes way beyond std seasonal crop usage I defer to those who need the income to service debt taken on that co-incidentally caters to the needs of the greater community. My stance briefly came under discussion until it thankfully became understood. The only permanently disgruntled was a brother in law who initially was driving it who lost his opportunity to do side jobs presuming I could not read the hour meter or would not question why on some days the fuel usage mysteriously spiked. Please do not assume I have a negative opinion in the overall subject. I am am merely attempting to illustrate that while there is a genuine need for those who increasingly are becoming dependent on mechanized methods that there need be an evaluation the practicality versus the advantage in investing in machinery. On a different scale combine harvesters I have observed to be a nightmare in maintenance mostly due to the operational environment they are unsuited for. An exception perhaps for sugar cane harvesters. I could easily digress into allied topics but if specifically you want an opinion as to investment in a straw baler I would suggest to consider immediate need and any outside usage a dubious capital return relative to operational cost. Last I heard was 25 Baht per bale . AND you need to understand that the compaction level of balers can be altered. As in ..loose bales are many more than tight ones.

Thailand Calls For Diplomatic Solutions to Russia-Ukraine Crisis
Nojohndoe replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Probably as long as there has existed some unheralded if not discreet trade to mutual advantage. "Former USSR" countries abound ! Therefore so does accumulative trade potential. -
A intriguing multiple of questions. I suspect in attempt to ascertain potential market. Perhaps now there is a greater potential to supply a market that is being compelled rather than volunteering to find/pay/source alternatives to the established methodology of burning off crop waste. The traditional methods which now significantly insult the perceptions of pollutive impact are sadly biased to methods which remove components rather than restore them to the soil of origin. That may satisfy to a degree the social expectations but does more than worse in depleting same soils. Fibrous waste is being removed for opportunist gains to the incremental disadvantage of small crop farmers and more importantly the very soil they subsist on ! If there were to be an enterprise that was interested in developing an affordable mechanized system that could demonstrate an effective chaffing capacity that would enable at very least return the organic waste residues to the local soil it was derived from in a form that enabled the degeneration of it at least in assisting humis containment I would seriously consider investment.

So access and locality define the interpretation of humanitarian concern? The sad eyed dog in your face prompts more reactive emotion than a bloodied war torn victim or starving children in some remote location? The imperative is contained in a bubble of personal existence because beyond that is incomprehensible and therefore lesser than the direct and more tangible sad eyed starving stray dog in front of you . Ok. Normal in concept of social normal.

I can not and as yet find no reason to understand why the quite prolific number of ex expats or even shorter term visitors to Thailand insist on coming into forum site or other to vent personal failure. How many of them n/ever state prior personal failure in places of origin? I can feel empathy but not sympathy. I would guess there are few who even having achieved a satisfactory situation in life who could say they have never experienced some period of stress and instability in any and every facet of life. Coming back to revisit failure I feel is proof of the cause!

Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
Nojohndoe replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Having listened to quite a number of generally antagonistic interviews of Putin by western media over the last couple of years he has responded IMO very rationally in addressing the generic accusations of "blame" accorded to Russia in all and any scenario and at times accurately redirected similar such accusations. It is undeniably sad that he has undertaken the step to undertake this "Special Operation" which will cost lives and inflict hardship on so many innocents but it can not be denied that this is the result of supercilious assumption that "Western" affiliation inferred superiority in diplomatic capacity to dismiss any other genuine concerns. If nobody can understand the derived logic that if back in 2014 the Minsk Agreement was considered to be the solution for Russian concerns yet since that time there has been quite deliberate avoidance by the Ukraine Govt. as called and token to zero acknowledgment of the fact by those very friendly to it that any confidence in verbal statements ,despite constant reminders via Putin and others, generated not a paranoid comprehension but a confirmed comprehension of the reality presented by it. In Putin's announcements of intent he outlined the terms in causation and I think has re-iterated them since. It is now only a matter of public conjecture as to a different situation as of now if instead the (Alliance) had pressured (S)Zelensky into ratifying the Minsk agreement . Possibly it would have made no difference except for the undeniable fact that it would have rendered Putin unjustifiable in such as current action. Or? as may are beginning to contemplate....these helicopters landing bring insignificant death when compared to the profit war seems to generate for the few ??????? There are some inexplicables in this scenario that defy normal comprehension. -

Could be and probably correct at least to some degree. Unfortunately that is the same basic criteria any nation with significant clout applies and exercises. -
Thailand Not Included in US’s Notorious Markets List

"Never irritate the mind you wish to convince " comes to mind given the geopolitical sensitivities of the moment -
Now it will be interesting to see if the Russian Forces entering the separatist areas exacerbates or quietens the level of gunfire etc. It could be that despite it confirming the already recognized Russian support that it is also intended to prevent the provocation tactics the separatists were using ? While it puts Russia in control it notches up the genuine threat of total invasion in face of demands.

Has it already been confirmed the pickup driver was at fault ? Or is that a given because a farang/foreigner would never be at fault ?

Converted into land assets etc. No doubt all and any family members and known "friends" of said Monks will come under very close scrutiny. -
I am going to watch your post with interest ! Many, if not most water bores in Thailand are very loaded with calcium . I have never found any long term cost effective low input system to eliminate the problems caused . Contrary to the infrastructural problems caused there is no health issue (apparently ) associated ln terms of drinking it boiled or using it for cooking. I have tried resin filters but despite claims seem to lack effectiveness really because they do not remove the calcium, only convert it into a salt form.
