  1. I went into Qatar office to ask the same thing last week as the website and a twitter answer I got from them are not exactly clear. The office at exchange tower has been closed for two years for covid I found out, so waited on the phone. All they want to see at present are locator form and vaccination info.
  2. These official links seem to only offer insurance in 30 day periods. If you wanted to follow the rules and get cover for say 32 days you would have to over buy at 60 days. Go to broker sites and they offer the same cover for the number of days you actually need.
  3. Spend it all now before you go is one solution, the other is get her co signer on your Thai bank account and make a will for assets abroad. It is of course illegal to withdraw funds after death, but who is to know about it?
  4. Anyone deciding against coming back over a couple of tests and the very small risk of testing positive cannot want to come back very much. John Campbell has nothing to do with Thailand and is not even a medical Dr.
  5. The so called money making trap appears not to be true, only 3.3 percent of arrivals in the first 10 days of the new T&G tested positive. Yet this myth of planned scamming of arrivals continues. If you test + after arrival and have no symptoms you can insist on going home here anyway so why the hysteria? Tourists are another matter, I would not bother if I was coming for a few weeks.
  6. Where did you see that? they told me now no PCR or any test from BKK to UK via Doha. The office in Exchange tower is closed, they told me this on the phone and by a twitter message. Hello, xxxx. Kindly note that Qatar Airways as an airline does not require a Covid-19 PCR test for boarding on our flights unless this is a requirement imposed by the country of your arrival or/and departure. This is why we kindly advise our customers to check the updated travel requirements on the websites with the link provided below. Please take note that due to the rapid changes in regulation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, changes can occur with very short notice. We also encourage all our customers to check with the relevant authorities or embassy in their country of departure and/or arrival. https://qatarairways.com/en-qa/travel-alerts/requirements.html… Thank you and have a great day.
  7. I married one from Issan and we must have had an argument almost every day for 17 years, never a dull moment. I think the last one was about her taking ages to get ready to go out as usual, takes all sorts.
  8. MIL ATM card stolen by a builder- pin number written on the card, common it seems
  9. What do the different colors mean? there are different coloured ones on wine and I just noticed on JW green label whisky the tax sticker is pink, on JW black label it's green. Do the colours mean anything or just stuck on at random?
  10. Life moves on, the Sukhumvit low so sex dives are a thing of the past, just NP and SC to get rid of ????
  11. Just been in there, it opened in Dec, certainly an improvement on crappy bars and tarts hanging about. Stuff I buy is about half the price of some other shops, they don't sell booze though.
  12. That's rich, almost everyone on here has used the services of prostitutes at one time or another, lots of decent people get divorced. If you ever met him you might have a different opinion
  13. You started to post them on the thaiger but then stopped, wise, horrible site.
  14. He never said that, liars about him did. Stick was the most decent person I ever met in Thailand, most foreigners are people who need to be avoided, but not him.
  15. Dog charities are just peeing in the wind, at best reducing the population growth slightly. It's not just Buddhism stopping them as there are plenty of examples of animal cruelty here and almost all of them eat meat. The main cause of the reluctance to deal with the problem cannot even be discussed.
  16. Qatar do not want to see any covid testing when leaving only coming back, fill the passenger locator form 48 hours before arrival in UK.
  17. The whole requirement is not reasonable though, almost no risk of being hospitalized if vaccinated and as far as I see no policy covers for hotel quarantine. Money for old rope.
  18. Dont bother filling in the contact part at the end as I did. Just as I pressed send I noticed that had made all the info on the left of the screen disappear. Now have to wait for three days to have another go
  19. Why would you as you are leaving, if you dont have one you can't come back anyway
