What this week shows without any semblance of doubt is that the government have absolutely no idea what they are doing and have absolutely no strategy whatsoever.
Numbers went down for a couple of days and the medical experts and politicians all said “that’s it, numbers are down and we are going to open up”…that is from the experts. No strategy around waiting a couple of days to see how it plays out, no strategy around testing to prove their thesis.
Rise couloured glasses crowd (admittedly a crowd of 3 or 4), what proof do you need that they have and never have had any clue what they are doing. They are every bit as amateur and clueless as everyone feared.

Unless you believe QLD is Australia, i suggest you read up what is happening in NSW and VIC and then come back to ask me what is insane and what is not.
QLD is not isolated, but perhaps QLD authorities have more brain than the other 2 states.
Do you believe NSW is Australia? Are you forgetting WA, NT, SA and TAS all of which are experiencing life as normal.

What is happening in Oz in simply insane in all aspects , from lockdowns over 400 people to having citizens wait for 6 -8 months to return and make them pay for all.
just the other day council ordered to shoot all dogs in rspca so rescue group do not have to come to pick them up as was arranged, in fear of covid spreading.
I live in Queensland and this pandemic (thanks to the Government here) has been better than what 99% of the world had experienced. We have utilised our god given gifts (namely isolated location) to our best advantage.
During this whole pandemic my kids have only been out of school for 5 days. We have been at the beach most weekends, enjoyed the parks and outdoors and loved pretty much a normal life.
There are ample vaccines here and we will almost certainly now out vaccinate the spread of Delta.
Business and workers were compensated for their time out of work.
What is there not to like about that? In what way is that insane?

One assumes he paid for his Moderna shot same as others are enlisting to do the same. Yes he was selfish in that sense.
Should all foreigners not take the Sinovac offered and leave the Moderna to front line Thais or the vulnerable unvaccinated Thais too?
Are they not also being a little selfish? Not sure why anyone engages with this type of character at all…wasting your time with silly circular arguments.

It is very very hard to believe anything this government says or the figures it publishes. Getting the numbers to look lower than reality has clearly been the goal over the last couple of weeks using whatever means neccessary.
FWIW I agree they should open up ASAP and just live with the virus…poor countries can’t afford not to. It is the lying and decoy that annoys me.

Plus they have a miraculously low death rate that defies logic in relation to what has happened everywhere else in the world.

Why would deaths be harder to manipulate? There are 70 provinces in Thailand…5 unreported deaths in each province would not raise any red flags but would be 350 deaths in total…I think number of deaths is actually easier to hide than any other number (apart from vaccines administered).

When I first read about the Thai government comparing their curve to India’s last week I just knew what would happen…the order has been made “make our curve look like India’s”….and so shall it be.
My money says we will see 16K inflections tomorrow…although given how brazen these guys are I could see $15K…basically whatever it takes to make the Thai curve match the Indian curve.

From 7,000 positive ATK cases to 900 in just 2 days. A miracle! Or BS.

Well know there is a surprise…findings from a Thai “authority” that support the Governments agenda….certainly wouldn’t be the first time.
Applying logic it really doesn’t make any sense that 2 doses of AZ would provide less protection than Sinovac and AZ…the only way it makes sense is that it is a false narrative to support a governemt agenda.Throughout this pandemic in Thailand anyone who has applied Logic has been proven correct. Anyone that believed government information at face value has been proven wrong.

They truly are cooking the books as much as possible…reduce testing (from already abysmally inadequate numbers) and dont count rapid test positives in the results! Amazing Thailand.
The narrative coming from Government now is that it is levelling off and will start to drop soon…so shall it be.

The authorities really are to blame for the problem in Thailand. It is fair to say that it is very hard to stop Delta variant but if they had their act together then they could of out vaccinated the spread exactly like they are doing now in Australia. Being able to out vaccinate the outbreak in Australia is a very real possibility. Thailand could of done the same if they had the vaccines but they didn’t have them for reasons already discussed.
An interesting development about vaccine procurement is that Anutin apparently declined to order Pfizer vaccines last year because they were “not proven to work on yellow skinned people”. Look at the Scotsman on Facebook and you will see. Around the same time he also rejected Moderna as being too expensive.

I find it amazing that people (and especially people on this forum) would believe these vaccination numbers.
If you apply the same logic that many of us did to foresee the current situation then you arrive at only one conclusion….they are exaggerating the vaccination numbers as the one and only thing left to them to try and retain any credibility.

With everything that has happened so far with the vaccination program does anyone honestly believe they can administer 900k vaccines in a day here? Even in countries where they are available everywhere (Doctors, Hospitals, Vaccination Centres and Pharmacies) they can’t do that many per day. Do the amounts even add up? Do they even have that many available.
This would be the easiest number of all to falsify. How could anyone track the reality.
Food for thought: There may be some considerable corruption possibilities in each province/location saying they have administered more than they have. Would love to know how the admistration, distribution and reward system works. There is ALWAYS an angle here.
