I see the TV detective force is out in force. Booze, low balcony rails being blamed again. Soon the tin foil hat brigade will be out in force whispering about sinister Thais in the shadows.
Show some respect (for yourselves, not just the departed) instead of making asinine guesses).
..
Every single time it's the same guys, all ex-Scotland Yard or FBI, that gives every questionable death clarity. I'm probably totally incorrect but I imagine mature men in shorts and tanks tops too busy to shave and shower in front of their mighty Internet contraptions cutting and pasting from their old posts to save time. I also see a fan going at full speed this time of year.
R.I.P. Mr. Bright. Your life was much too short. I apologize to his family for most of the posters who assume, probably because of their negative experiences in life, that he was depressed, drunk or clumsy. At this stage it is too early to assume that the Hilton Hotel management is also responsible but there it is. They don't even have to get a measurement of the railing. These poor people just love to spew random facts even at the expense of the deceased family's feelings.

Works great at my home in Bangkok on TOT. No problem. Try turning you computer off and then back on.

You have to hand it to the TCT for the valiant attempt to put lipstick on this pig.

I guess the takeaway from all this is that we do not have to shelter in place here in Bangkok. Will it be made clear to the Thai people that they do not have to panic buy their groceries? I hope so because I would hate to see a run on my Villa Market.
I think this take over is the only way the navy is going to be able to buy their much coveted submarine fleet.
In my humble opinion this will carry on the "Amazing Thailand' theme and allow for extreme tourism for a time. My mobile is blowing up with warnings for both the Philippines and Thailand from the US State Department with travel warnings regarding unfettered violence in both countries.
Could this be a reaction to miss Thailand calling for the execution of a large percentage of her own people?
This is Thailand.

"Amazing Thailand" with a quaint corrupted beauty contest on television for all to see (except for the blind judges). They picked the girl advocating the execution of a good percentage of her own people. It proves that behind many "Thai Smiles" lurks a homicidal maniac.

The soft target is Nana - full of westerners, a fairly closed environment..... surprised it has not already been targeted.... In Europe or North America the soft target might be a train station, but here it would be that location.
You seem so sure. Do you have inside information? Out of a country with thousands of potential targets you pick one. The government is sure to require your consulting services. Please, if you can tell us without killing us afterwards, your training and experience in counter terrorism and threat assessment. You are obvious a valuable tool necessary to prevent terror and save lives.

MY last new US passport was issued in Phnom Penh.
My RETIREMENT extension was issued in Phuket,
I went in and out of Thailand twice with my new passport ( they stamped me in and out on new passport) an extension stamped in the old passport, as u can only ( or so i was told) have your extension transfered to your new passport from where it was issued.
Both times no problem.
So I can travel with my new passport and use my old passport until I renew my Retirement Visa extension in September. My old passport contains a valid Retirement Visa extension and multiple entry permit.
-
Later this year I will be renewing my American passport, say late August. Will I be able to use my Retirement Visa Extension in my old passport until I renew my visa in late September?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I saw the episode and heard him make the statement. Totally missed the "slur". Checking on peer to peer sharing sites this morning and found Sunday's episode has blown up the Internet making it one of the most viewed ever.
Great for ratings. Last year Clarkson mentioned Mexicans were lazy. More outrage mostly by Mexicans and higher ratings.

I was very surprised that there was zero Olympics coverage but after thinking about it True made a sound business decision IMHO.

Thanks.

Can someone please list the unofficial "water days" for both Pattaya and Bangkok 2014? I know the days are a bit offset for the two cities.
I'm in the process of April travel planning and I want to get the dates right. Thanks.

It's official. The old white expat vote is almost evenly split on which criminal to support. By support I mean whine and complain to no one in particular about circumstances they cannot control. Does posting an opinion about which criminal organization is better for Thailand improve anyone's quality of life? Are we not guests in Thailand? Did one Thai ask an old expat in a tank top and shorts how this country's business should be conducted? I guess you might say the hubris of may of the posts can be considered by some as entertainment. Sent from my ME172V using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
This is an international forum with the possibility of a debate of current political or social events.
Or in ( I assume) your words: if you don't like it- go home!
Spirited debate to be sure! But is it really debate or can you detect something else from a number of the posts?
I respect many of the thought out measured opinions of several TV regulars. However some posts seem to embarrass the writer.
I choose to live here and hope that I can be a positive influence and give back. So that said, I am home. Your pontificate on, "This is an international forum with the possibility of a debate of current political or social events", applies to me as well.

I wish all Thais would realize that this whole idiotic episode is about who gets to control government contracts. Who would die for someone else's pockets? It's definitely not for the plight of freedom and democracy. Btw, the Democrat Party should have their use of the word 'democrat' stripped from them. They are just as bad.
Why? Because they want a clean and non corrupt democratic system??
You and your ilk remind me of my first memory of Christmas. Santa!!!!
How incredibly naive you are. How sad.

The members photograph says it all...All well and good, but the order authorizing the police to use live rounds against the peaceful protesters came from the PM, and that is where the responsibility ultimately lies.
I don't believe this has ever happened before in Thai history, the PM authorizing authorities to shoot with live rounds at peaceful protesters? Only 24 hours until retribution for her brutality is served.

Please, please, dear Russians, do boycott Thailand.
I really dont like to see anyone hurt but this is the best news on Thai Visa in a long time. With all that is going on in the Kingdom it is refreshing that something good may come to pass.

Time to take your meds. I hope you retired from teaching long ago. The future of our children depends on it.I've had a look at the video again, and I didn't see anyone leaving his bag there for the man in a vest to 'collect'.
I would not persecuting this fellow until I see the details of the rest of the video. Too many people have unfairly fallen victims in this country.

You are truly unbelievable. Mankind is doomed.I wouldn't be so quick to persecute the fellow carrying the bag. I mean, from the footage, we don't necessarily see who the real owner of the bag was. It would be useful if the footage showed the alleged bag owner placing his bag on that chair.

I would hope CNN sees this report. Last weekend at some point there were only 45,000 people watching worldwide. That includes jails, auto repair shops and people stuck in airports. They need this and we need wall to wall coverage. Being a CNN anchor must be like working in a nuclear missile silo. So lonely.
