  1. The only decent freebie is the 1yr insurance and you get that regardless of payment method, the tinted windows are lowest grade, the mats are <deleted>, the half tank of petrol is okay, the valet is unnecessary, the 1hr demonstration on handover pointless
  2. Cash is no longer king. You don't qualify as you say, but there is significant dealer commission in finance, also with an eligible thai (read anyone) they will also push other insurance products - gold/cashback-at-end worthless life assurance etc.. all nice commission generating that they'd happily discount on the chassis.
  3. The Chinese and buffets never mix well.. a good reason to skip hotel breakfast when they finally return..
  4. Sanookmike, if you need a new/renewed passport, friend did his online and should have it back today or Monday, took about two weeks, another friend submitted same day but via post office and has heard nothing, take away processing times are faster than advertised but do it online
  5. I ended up booking direct with the hotel, wouldn't say it was a pleasant experience they all a bit backwards like its 1990, here's a word doc or pdf please fill in your credit card details for authorization including security code etc.. you could return it via email though instead of fax or carrier pigeon. Use a disposable/one-time card if you go this route as its extremely insecure - if it did leak though the merchant would be in clear violation of PCI-DSS (a set of terms governing how card data is transitted and managed, and which is enforced at the scheme level - i.e. visa / mastercard / amex) so you'd have little problem with getting the charges refunded for peace of mind.
  6. When I enquire about a property listed on DD for example, it would be nice to receive an e-mail with quality pictures, layout, terms of the rents, a little about the agency and their credentials, maybe nicely formatted etc, more often than not you just get some kid that pastes the same pictures from dd often with the watermarks, and a sentence about deposit, then some silly emoji wai. Yes I do expect more professionalism, I'm happy with them to follow up with line and whatsapp to schedule a viewing but it wont be the primary means of exchanging information and developing trust.
  7. I'd also use lower case file extensions too incase their checks are sensitive to case.. e.g. selfie.jpg vs selfie.JPG
  8. This is why I suggest those of test&go visitors avoid any Thai insurance - its not heavily advertise but your own travel insurance from your country of origin is perfectly fine if it covers covid - most do since mid year - and has at least 50k usd (any will do), Thai covid insurance is extremely overpriced for the risk and benefits and there seems no guarantee they will honor their promises, these companies are a law to themselves and even the Thai ombudsman is clearly powerless. Had to laugh that thaivisa added an insurance advert to the bottom of this news item
  9. https://www.klook.com/activity/65568-travel-package-for-vaccine-passport-holder-from-korea-to-da-nang-vietnam/ Yikes, expensive, interesting tour package with only a one way flight ticket
  10. Clearly a bunch of expats, perhaps unofficially, desperate to get back to their girlfriends perhaps, doesn't look like your typical s.korean tourists, I wonder if they will forced on coaches for hours to some temple, follow the flag tour guide treatment, and forced into a gift shop every day
  11. Surely they can't continue flying to European airports if they dont respect the laws regarding this? I thought all airlines that departure european were bound by something written into laws regarding delays and cancellations and refunds.
  12. Just like all the professional thai real estate agents ???? "you have line sir or not"
  13. Hmmm interesting, to be fair if it's 1900baht plus taxis and tolls, that's 3k out the window. 3k for the agent and saves a whole day of fcking around and all the stress and potential knockback over some interpretation of the day of the rules then I'm in
  14. 1.9kb seems too small to be of any quality, perhaps they have a minimum size to avoid ultra poor quality. also make sure its really a jpg, just naming the file .jpg doesnt make it a jpeg necessarily https://www.metadata2go.com/ will tell you if its a valid jpeg etc.
  15. Why does he need a covid extension if he is on Elite visa? Sounds like he is being ripped off, but then again latest Elite pricing works out 10,000 a month so 10k for 2 months probably isnt worrying him
  16. If your 30 day tourist exemption finishes early Jan could one still apply for this in the week between xmas and new year and would that push the permission to stay out to early March?
  17. There are a good few that offer private limo transfer included generally starting at 6k mark
  18. There nothing illegal about onward ticket site, arguably against the spirit of the rules but boohoo, this was a myth started by some thaivisa moderators and angry thaivisa keyboard warriors, however you now see the exact same moderator even suggest onward ticket sites. Be aware the validity of them though is often 24-48hrs, although the main provider has an option for 14 days now for a little more
  19. None of these overpriced thai insurances cover forced HRC hotel quarantine right?
  20. I'm struggling to find solid info on India apart from some news articles weeks ago about the November 15.. There also the free visa but the visa site doesnt seem to be updated
  21. Free booze and free buffet is tempting, but at the risk of someone else testing positive several hours from now (i.e. non fast track) I'd be out there and uninstall morchana in a shot.. unless you had empty seats next to you on last leg from Helsinki and no one else in minivan. Free booze and buffet is not available on a 10/14 day force high-risk contact quarantine afaik
  22. I'm not sure why that makes it better? Are you expected to get a booster every six months - the intent behind boosters is for the most vulnerable of society - the science is still out on the need for boosters in the general population - and where some of the early studies are heading suggesting six months is far too soon for most people. I sure as hell dont want, or need, a pfzier every six months - cue antivax accusations
  23. This is concerning, but I dont think they will be the first or last. Middle class Thais are the most extreme hypochondriacs I've ever met - this is why addition/removal of out-patience on policies like Pacific Cross / LMG etc.. can be nearly half your policy annual fee, so it wouldn't surprise me to see other venues adopting this until those that pay the rent push back (bars in Koh san, shops in malls, stall holders at markets etc..)
  24. The TAT have no authority as far as I know, they don't provide certification to hotels or any intermediary service, the TAT is just a silly number and press release generator, so whilst the TAT can say 6hrs, the hotel/hospital partnership can just say whistle aka 'who the f is TAT?' If the health ministry or CCSA or MFA say 6hrs then maybe some will take note..
