  1. Headache and chest pains listed as possible side-effects of the mandated/quassi-forced antiviral medicine?
  2. I think this is why you have to choose a hotel that uses a more respected hospital, probably less chance of it happening at bumrungrad for example, if they still value international medical tourism, vs a smaller private hospital that is struggling
  3. Whilst they still have special check-in counters at swampy for "government civil service employees", "army employees", "hi-so people" <-- cant remember exact titles, but row B I think to the right of 1st class checkin lounge you know corruption is still there..
  4. In a Bangkok condo sure or on the souther islands sure, but out in issan in a village, or even somewhere like nimman in Chiang Mai (doesnt have to be in middle of nowhere - just stay away from main laces), most aren't going to know or care what their obligations are as landlord are, what a TM30 is or care about a passport copy is. Even HuaHin I'd say you;d have no problem find a thai landlord that would be happy to accept cash and doesnt want to deal with formalities
  5. Wise move. I hoping there is some common sense before I plan to fly regarding hospitalizations of asymptomatic positive cases, and quarantine after exposure to asymptomatic positive people, although the commodity is in short supply in Thailand. Cancellations might help promote the agenda. I think it's weeks away though, so whilst I might benefit, those flying November and early December are unlikely.
  6. I might follow up, but generally TT are pretty good based on claim stories of others but this is reflected in policy price too, I expect they are saying if their is an alternative they wont pay for private facilities like a 5star hotel (although Im pretty sure Im covered for private room in accident, maybe they read something else into it), people keep mentioning Emirates - did we ever get a confirmed story of payout - I know the first girl that was thrown into quarantine was "hoping" it would pay out but afaik barrow didnt follow up (not like it's his duty etc..)
  7. Got this from my insurance after asking, a bit vague to presume anything, think insurance companies are generally tight lipped over exact scenarios until it happens
  8. You have to laugh when someone says no one is better than anyone else, they know fine well if their son or daughter was returning from studying aboard, and tested positive, or merely shared a minibus with someone positive, hell would have to freeze over before they were imprisoned in hospital for 14 days,
  9. Recommending a lawyer to someone who is destitute is certainly impractical, that's similar suggesting to a beggar they should eat wholesome certified organic food. Just leave at the airport is often the best advice, and has been consistent for years. There is no arrest or jail for those arriving at the airport ready to go with a long overstay, people leave with multi-year overstays all the time, it's a formality, 20k fine, some form filling and nowadays likely a 5year ban, shame it wasn't under a year as only a year ban then. A potential question is if there is any discretion in applying the 5 year ban if he argues the case about being unable due to cancer to consider the circumstance in full mind (the drugs for cancer and chemo have very toxic effect on the mind - ive seen this before - people are certainly not themselves), however this is something to be considered after treatment imo if he's already this far down the road
  10. In for a penny in for a pound, no point panicking now if already on 1yr+ overstay, he might as well stay under the radar now, and focus on his treatment and recovery, hopefully hospital is oblivious to it - presume government hospital and somehow paying for it so they're unlikely to make a fuss.. When he does recover though he'll have to make a choice of continuing under the radar (with that risk over your head from rest of life) or leaving thailand with a ban.. Hope your friend gets better.. The lawyer idea I doubt is feasible if destitute. They don't work probono in Thailand
  11. None has been proactively offered a second PCR test yet, one says he has finally confirmed one but nothing about outcome yet, also I'd probably try insist it's done my another hospital, why aren't they being done by default? ah 350k lovely. This whole thing stinks of corruption, if I do follow through with thailand visit, ill need to carefully choose my hotel based on their partner hospital although they are probably all corrupt and greedy to some extent
  12. Can you legally refuse treatment? I see from barrow the most recent test&go tourists that were exposed to covid, even though fully vaxed and asymptomatic, and healthy, have been forced to undergo expensive intra-vein drips (hydration?), heavy dose antiviral treatment (hard on the body) and lung x-rays and god knows what else when seemingly healthy, all no doubt a clever ruse to pocket 300,000 directly or indirectly. What happens if you said 'sod this insane sillyness, you might have a mandate to quarantine me, but no treatment... ' It seems they aren't doing second PCR tests too which just stinks of corruption (given the percentage of false positive), would one be able to transfer to another hospital (at own expense) and demand a new PCR test - preferably one not affiliate with the initial hospital to avoid cross pollination of corruption.. As I write this, I think probably best stay away is the answer, already discourage from reading about peachypt but these new test&go cases are horrific
  13. Some airlines allow 72hr reserve flight (and lock in price) for $10-$25, this might be enough time to align all the other requirements without committing to the flight, this option mainly appears directly on the airline websites - singapore airline, BA, srilankan etc.. Alternatively many airlines are offering free flight changes, BA, Singapore, Emirates, Qatar, SriLankan known to me, and probably the others, again this option is usually only available via the airlines directly, OTA will do it too with their "change fees" added unless you purchase their pointless flexibility packages (gotogate, budgetair, travelgate etc..)
  14. Time you get something up and running Asian countries would of aligned with western countries - EU and USA for example, no silly business, here my vax card and here's my lateral flow test job done..
  15. Not sure, see SleepWithMe hotel that offer the package with TP acceptance... In addition there are already thailandpass submitters (not with hotel deal). It doesnt go via embassies either from my understanding. It's either instant approve or your vaccine goes to ministry of health for validation
  16. Sorry, I just spat my beer across the floor.. Demand for agents is not due to their competence, but their connections (and thus the rules they can bend). Shelve the idea because without connections you'd be useless here..
  17. Sounds like a right mess. Luckily, I have plenty of time, part of me hopes they will hire some competent developers, and sort it out by then, but then seeing how randomly flawed the online 90 day system is I don't hold out much hope.
  18. Malaysia plan full reopening within 3 months of the 15 november, however they are reviewing it every two weeks, a minister was quoted as saying if the first two weeks go well KL could be open by early December - I think thats probably a tad optimistic though, maybe new year
  19. This is the same in Europe too, Apple.com lead times of 10-14 days, in-store official resellers have limited sizes or colors, and the kicker - will only sell them with an insurance package (read - non apple-care a complete <deleted> policy that costs 1/3 of the phone) or with ridiculously high finance (tried 3 main apple resellers), thankfully I woken up to stupidity of that attempted impulse buy. Meh just buy a pixel or similar instead for a 1/3 of price
  20. There is a girl on Twitter PeachyPT (https://twitter.com/PeachyPT/) that has just been locked up in the quarantine - conditions horrific / prison like - granted this Phangan specific. British embassy cant do anything apparently (pretty much the standard reply from them though). No paid private hotel - not an option. If Im reading correctly she didnt even test positive but exposed to someone from school who had so has to sleep in same quarters as covid positive patients - as sure fire way to eventually test positive - unbelievable stupidity from thais. Coming soon to a 'test and go' arrival and international media..
  21. The core take away seems to be register with an address that can receive mail - since the idiots are using their own server with no IP reputation (and I suspect no DKIM/SPF) for outgoing mail to send the QR code they are hitting limits on services like hotmail/live/outlook - and I would guess in this case web.de the first time around. Someone can DM me the email headers if they want like to confirm Those that are getting instant approval I suspect have already been approved, it's just the hourly limits or whatever metric your mail ingestion providers uses has reset, and thus a resend
  22. The QR can be validated - you can't generate a signed (by a key in list of accepted registrars) vaxxed QR yourself - you can download a validator app too - so the public keys to authenticate many vax QR are out in the open (at least for EUDCC). Sure there are QR generators online and probably a lot of venues and possibly some third world country immigrations dont authenticate the QR, but that wont work in Singapore
  23. Yes that is correct, most places are moving towards digital vaccinations cards, most problematic is the CDC card although there are routes to digitalize them (e.g walk into any tourist area german pharmacy as a tourist and you'll get an EUDCC vaccine QR valid on all EU covid apps and for international travel by 1 year since CDC vax date) - I would expect something domestically too soon
