I suppose they have to prove the review is incorrect before they can proceed.

In Thailand it is considered defamation to say something about a business or person that harms them, EVEN IF IT IS TRUE.

If, for example, you say that the prices are too expensive, and that takes away customers from the business, it will be defamation even if you can prove with the invoice that it is true.

Since in the first world defamation is only considered if it is a lie, many Westerners fall into the trap of leaving unfavorable opinions on Tripadvisor or Google Maps about restaurants or hotels, without thinking that in Thailand this is defamation, which carries strong fines and jail terms.

I was hoping for an agent free thread. We all know it used to be easy to open a bank account on a visa exempt or tourist visa but not in the last 5 years or so.

You can still pay an agent 4500 to get a bank account opened but there might be added costs for a Residence Certificate and useless insurance required

I was really happy the non-imm O seemed to be all powerfull in bypassing all that crap and bank account cost 0 baht

At Bangkok Bank you can open a current account with a tourist visa.
I have not found any other bank that allows it.
Sometimes you will be asked to take out accident insurance during the first year.

At soi  Chalermphrakiat 19, there are many ladies' hair salons, nail shops, makeup shops and other establishments for ladies at good prices. All with Thai clientele.

Don't get sucked into the OP's post. No way is he serious and it's just another of his mindless wind ups. Along with certain other members, they should be banished from the forum.

In fact, he is the only forum member I have blocked.

It also is a result of the actions of looky-loos, who might wander in and do a circle of the place, get a free eyeful and wander out again. Many think they have a right to do that....

In fact, when I go to a club, especially clubs like the Wind Mill with many areas, nooks and crannies, and two different floors, I do consider myself entitled to go in, see the atmosphere, and decide whether to stay or I don't like it and prefer to leave.

Given the drop in the level of clubs lately and the lack of atmosphere in many, I can try several clubs until I find one I like, sit down, order a drink and stay a while.

I certainly don't consider myself obligated to stay in a club if when I enter I don't like what I see.

Never will step into either of those two Agogos they own again. Security are thugs. One and only time I walked into their club the thug outside raised his hand to strike me be because I walked in and saw how ugly the girls were and walked right out. On exit he raised his hand up with an angry face to strike me, but I didn't flinch and just walked away. Thugs in that place. That dude still works at the front door. I will remember his face every time I pass that place.

In December I went to Wind Mill a couple of times and I had to go somewhere else because neither the girls nor the atmosphere were like in years past.
The last time I went, you had to pay directly to enter. We turned around and left without entering. When they charge you to enter a place, it already gives you an idea that it is not a place where those who enter want to stay.

Imagine needing to go to Jomtien Immigration on the 17th, 18th or 19th April and coming soaked from head to toe in water. How does Immigration deal with soaked foreigners coming in to do their extensions? Do they have a number of staff with mops in hand ready to mop up all the wet floors in all their 3 buildings?

For a procedure like this, I think I would take a taxi from the door of my house to the Immigration door. I wouldn't risk going out and doing the tour on foot or by songtaew.
