Finally got my account changed. Never got a reply from Manila after 2 months and no one ever answered the phone after continuously calling international operations for a few weeks. Did get in touch with someone from the main social security number but they told me they couldn't do anything I have to go through Manila. Called again a few times until I found someone sympathetic and the agent told me she would send my account information to international operations but after checking my account was not changed. Called again the other day and found another sympathetic agent who said she would change the information for me. This whole process took a few months quite unbelievable

I sent an email to social security Manila to update my new bank account but one month later no response and a second email was sent. I tried many many times calling social security international operations and no one answers. There's a toll free number for US embassy Manila but social security changed their phone number not free anymore. At this point I don't know what to do anyone have any suggestions.

Yes I am a US citizen and used to live on Guam before coming to Thailand had an account with Merrill Lynch but they stopped doing business with Thailand then transferred over to Raymond James and now the same stop to do business in Thailand so I'm looking for another option they did give me the option of keeping my account but only as a managed account at 1% charge. So I prefer to change to another firm rather than pay the 1%

I had a MRI and the doctor saw some abnormalty in a small area of the prostate and wants to investigate if it is cancerous or not to avoid further complications in the future. Had a turp operation for a large prostrate about 10 years ago With the same doctor and now I have a 5-year-old son. As you all know the prostate grows back again so I'm back with a large prostrate without symptoms but just started taking Finisterre again.

Is this procedure done with a endoscope through the penis or the rectum
-
Anyone have experience with prostrate biopsy. What is the procedure like, is it painful and how about recovery. After having an MRI scan it showed an enlarged prostrate and small area that may be cancer. So the doctor needs to confirm.

Transferring Visa to a New passport
steveb5 replied to steveb5's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks for All the replies and advice. But still not clear from the replies.Do we need to transfer the Visa stamp to the new passport or is it optional to keep it in the old passport and carry two passports when departing and entering the country . -
I didn't understand the same as you so I sent an email to the embassy and they clarified. You put all the documents and your passport in a envelope then go to the Post office and send it to them preferably EMS or register mail so you can track it. They will send it to the US and when the passport is received by the embassy they will send you an email and a tracking number from Thai post. The embassy didn't notify me when they received my documents so I sent them an email to confirm they received it. So I am waiting for my passport

But the regular airmail one was received.Got a receipt when I sent it today and it says us social security on it so I'm wondering is this receipt good enough for proof it was sent

Anyone have experience renewing your US passport in Bangkok. Is mailing to the embassy the only option these days or can you still submit your passport in person at the embassy. If mail is the only option how to survive without your passport during the processing as the passport is needed for many things such as going to the hospital. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

How high is your blood pressure that you take medication
steveb5 replied to steveb5's topic in Health and Medicine
Is the first reading more accurate or the second. Do you normally take more than one reading. -
What is the blood pressure range that medication is necessary. My blood pressure after a second reading averages about 135 but first reading sometimes around 145 average. My doctor a general doctor prescribed blood pressure medication because when I go to the hospital the pressure can go up to 150. So he prescribed medication for me. But I've been checking my blood pressure at home and its not bad He told me that the new standard is about 120 for a normal blood pressure. Anything over is considered hypertension. How high was your blood pressure that you were prescribed medication. I haven't taken the medication as I am still checking my readings and I am not sure I need medication. Any thoughts? Also my cholesterol and sugar is very good
