Got a call today Saturday morning from social security Manila. They interviewed me about changing my bank account number for my son benefits. Everything went okay but after hanging up I worry was it real or a scam so I put a lock on my account to make sure. In my prior email from them they asked to call them and I replied requesting them to call me. Does it sounds legitimate to get a call Saturday morning and the number was in Washington number and I thought maybe rerouted from Manila but when I checked there was no listing. I gave them my old account number and current account. Any suggestions what I should do at this point. The interviewer had all the information including my wife's maiden name and ask to talk with her to verify because it's a guardian account after hanging up I received email from them stating they will reinstate my son's account

I am in the process of starting the application process for my Thai wife's permanent resident for the USA ,Anyone knows if they are still accepting applications since they stopped to issue Visas for Thailand. Should we submit documents now or wait until the Visa process is reinstated for Thailand

I submitted my 90 day report by post but after almost one month I have not received the returned 90 day report. I sent it registered mail and have a tracking that it was received by them what should I do now. I plan to go to immigration next month to renew my Visa.

I am 72 years old . I saw the orthopedics doctor 2 weeks ago and he said the swelling will persist a few months. The fracture 99% healed. Going to see therapy doctor Monday morning swelling mininal in the uninjured foot but the injured foot better in the morning but after activity walking increases swelling. So I'm looking for advice how to reduce the swelling. Or if anyone had any experience they can share

I am 10 weeks post knee fracture walking with a cane but experiencing swelling on the injured foot as well as some swelling uninsured foot. Elevate everyday including balm but the swelling is persistent. Anyone have any recovery experience and recommendations

I am required to do my 90-day report in person as I left the country. I had an accident fell down with a knee fracture so have very little mobility wearing a splint. How can I request to do my 90 day report online due to my accident? I have continuously been doing it online except I left the country for a trip and the requirement is to do it in person after returning to the country.

Yes I am older 72 and going to the doctor tomorrow after one week with a splint. Very difficult to get around so hoping tomorrow when they put on a cast it should be a little easier. I only know it's a knee fracture not sure what area and told only minimal weight on the foot. Will update more information. Thanks for all the help and advice. Using a Walker but very difficult living in a condominium with a narrow bathroom low toilet makes it even more difficult.

Anyone have any experience with a knee fracture, how to get around with a cast, recovery and any tips or advice. Fell down hit my knee and have a small fracture. They put a splint for one week and tomorrow change to cast. How to get more protein and calcium for healing, and how to manage with a walker. What is recovery like, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I heard many people having problems being left on hold so does anyone know if there is a toll free number or anyway to call free. Or any other alternative. I have magicJack so I can call US embassy Manila but not this number.

One thing my doctor recommend for dry eyes that really works is daily cleaning of the eye lids. They recommend ocusoft lid scrub. You can also use cotton balls with warm water. You can see a video how to clean your eyes.

Finally got my account changed. Never got a reply from Manila after 2 months and no one ever answered the phone after continuously calling international operations for a few weeks. Did get in touch with someone from the main social security number but they told me they couldn't do anything I have to go through Manila. Called again a few times until I found someone sympathetic and the agent told me she would send my account information to international operations but after checking my account was not changed. Called again the other day and found another sympathetic agent who said she would change the information for me. This whole process took a few months quite unbelievable

I tried many many times calling social security international operations and no one answers. There's a toll free number for US embassy Manila but social security changed their phone number not free anymore. At this point I don't know what to do anyone have any suggestions.

I changed my banki for direct deposit of my monthly check. What is the process of updating the banking information. Yes I am a US citizen and used to live on Guam before coming to Thailand had an account with Merrill Lynch but they stopped doing business with Thailand then transferred over to Raymond James and now the same stop to do business in Thailand so I'm looking for another option they did give me the option of keeping my account but only as a managed account at 1% charge. So I prefer to change to another firm rather than pay the 1%
