    Since she has a US tax number, and also has more than min. requirement in bank, why not err on safe side? The online filing is straight forward, and you will receive an email showing acceptance.

    Use K-mobile app on your phone. I used it last Oct before I left Thailand. Sent 1 million baht out. Was also much cheaper than wire transfer.

    You should already be aware of the fact that SSA does not pay medical benefits outside the USA. They advise you not to pay or join Medicare if you reside outside USA.
