Vaccine holdouts are jeopardizing Thailand’s hard-earned Covid gains
ebice replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Covid infections surge to record high for over-70s in UK "Experts believe the wave of infections is being driven by waning behavioural caution coinciding with the increased prevalence of the BA.2 offshoot, which is 30 per cent more infectious than the original Omicron." ... "But a large proportion of registered Covid patients are not being treated primarily for the disease and instead tested positive incidentally after being admitted. In England, they account for 56 per cent of Covid patients." https://www.ft.com/content/b4bf71b1-0b60-41fd-b445-ce13379a270c -
New US COVID guidelines allow most Americans to go mask-free
ebice replied to meechai's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Mask mandates were established way back whenever but I will use July 27, 2021 when CDC recommended fully vaccinated begin wearing masks again while indoors. At that time (27-07-2021) US saw the following covid stats: Covid deaths: 303/day new covid cases: 60,000/day. On February 28, 2022 Biden announced lifting of mask mandates as did many states and the following covid stats were reported on Feb 28: Covid deaths: 1800/day new covid cases: 68,000/day data source: covid data LoL, Science -

I spoke with a airline pilot from Sing air not long ago and he told me even though he is vaccinated, if he gets infected while outside SI he will also be required to pay covid medical fees. -

More like the bigger fear is that it could be interpreted exactly properly without any fudge factor. -

Provincial governors in Thailand told to prepare plans for COVID-19 surge

Lack of transparency leads to distrust. The C.D.C. Isn’t Publishing Large Portions of the Covid Data It Collects The agency has withheld critical data on boosters, hospitalizations and, until recently, wastewater analyses. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/20/health/covid-cdc-data.html -
Prince Andrew settles out of court.
ebice replied to Chomper Higgot's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
No, of course not, but you asked me where I got the "gem" about the damages paid in the potential civil suit, I just schooled u on basic law whereby there are no damages awarded in an out of court settlement in a civil manner, only whats agreed to between plaintiff and Andrews. And the initial reports have indicated the following: WHAT ARE THE TERMS OF THE SETTLEMENT? In a joint statement filed in court, lawyers for Andrew, 61, and Giuffre, 38, did not disclose the sum of Andrew's payment, but said the prince would make a "substantial donation" to Giuffre's charity in support of victims' rights. If the case had gone to trial and Giuffre won, Andrew could have been ordered to pay Giuffre damages. She had asked for an unspecified amount. This is very basic rudimentary civil law process... -

If this went to trial there would likely be some big names dropped thru-out the trial, and the potential for some revealing details. -

She don't get the money, the charity will. She potentially stands to be awarded damages only IF she prevails during a civil trial. -

She was a victim of her own volition and by all accounts accepted money (payment for her services) without question and seemingly was free to leave anytime and she did when she got married in Thailand in about 2002 and contacted Epstein and Maxwell to inform she was not returning. She was not called to offer her testimony and evidence in the recent G Maxwell case. -

She claimed she was paid "extremely well" for her encounters with the Prince. It is documented in The Billionaire's Playboy Club1 See page 80 1A memoir written about a young women, caught in Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking ring. Unpublished, it was submitted as evidence against Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's Madame, in 2015. These court documents have recently been unsealed by a judge and made public. -

Exactly how do the authorities (FBI in this example) "exert" jurisdiction for crimes committed outside US soil? Crimes are prosecuted by local police forces not those that "exert" jurisdiction. -

Anyone know why US prosecutors declined to subpoena Giuffre in the recent Epstein-Maxwell case? -

No, not in any criminal proceedings, it was purely civil. At no time was Andrew at risk criminally since the complaint was filed. (child sex trafficking, rape, etc) -

They did not have jurisdiction for sex crimes committed outside US soil until some time in 2003 or 2004 and the congress enacted laws applied to US citizens committing sex crimes and therefore US had zero jurisdiction to prosecute Andrews. The MET police declined to prosecute prince Andrews at the time of the complaint. US did not prosecute criminally for obvious reasons and resorted to the Gov Cuomo created CVA to pursue a case which otherwise would have been barred due to statute of limitations. -

Who did the trafficking? It wasn't the P Andrew and proving he knew or didn't know would be a waste of time. Hence, not much chance of a criminal conviction for sex trafficking, So what follows is a civil case filed in NY under the state's Child Victims Act for a very specific reason. Do you know why this was filed in NY in Aug 2021? -

Stay home and don't expose yourself to omicron virus in crowded public places or otherwise, especially if you meet the risk criteria for a covid infection. Why take a chance of getting infected for a pfizer booster jab that may or may not protect you. The head dude at pfizer, CEO Bourla claims his booster might provide protection and that a new vaccine customized for omicron and other variants is in the engineering phase now with expected roll-out in March or April 2022. Moderna is also modifying their vaccines specifically for omicron which may be the first clue that these "boosters" are not getting the job done.
