  1. Thanks very much goldface.

Needs to be done in person at the TOT office.

If you do not, and do not pay, they eventually cut you off, give the phone line to someone else and if in a farangs name, forget all about it. I walked into their office to cancel my wifes phone account, and they would not do anything without her being there in person. This was in Pattaya 2nd row.

    TOT
Central Pattaya Road (3rd Road junction)
    Tel. 038-422 683, 422 922
give them a call though and ask for yourself. Explain the situation, and try your best to be polite and nice, and they might help you.
  2. My topic has been locked. Am I allowed to answer the Private messages it's received? I don't want to seem that am ignoring the senders. I will post the topic again in Classified later when I have photos and more info to include. I am a long-standing member and not trying to mislead Administration.

  3. Having recently returned to the UK permanently, I have a number of items I'm looking to sell. One of them being a Honda Jazz with very low mileage and in very good condition. Also I have a very nice 3 bedroom house for sale in East Pattaya. If you are interested in either please contact me by Private Message.

  4. Thanks again. It seems to me the Settlement Visa is the way to go.

Thanks again 7by7, Unfortunately for health reasons I cannot leave England. It's a long story, and I'm not going to bother you with details of my condition.

A settlement visa is one which allows the holder to travel to the UK for the purpose of settling there.

If the two of you want to live together in the UK, this is what you need.

See UK settlement visa basics for more.

If you have been living together in a relationship akin to marriage, and can prove it, for at least the last two years then she would probably quaifiy as your unmarried partner and could apply for settlement as such.

You call your partner 'a fiance' and say that you have been living together for the last 7 years. Whilst I would not suggest marriage merely to get a visa, in your case maybe it is not such a bad idea?

  6. Have a read of UK visit visa basics, then come back here to ask any further questions you may have.

Thank you 7by7. Am making my slow way through it. In the meantime can you please tell me is it possible for a UK 6 month visa to be renewed indefinitely? By that, I mean can someone who has had that visa get another one when back in LOS and continue to do that? I suspect the answer is no.

Applicants cannot normally spend six months in the UK in a twelve month period.

Whilst doing so isn't in breach of Immigration Laws it is a published convention, so back to back six month visas are unlikely to be given.

Applicants can apply for two, three and ten year visas, but can still only stay in the UK for six in every twelve months.

The ECO will assume, probably correctly, that you're hoping to use Visit Visas to circumnavigate the settlement route.

Thanks all for your help. does a fiance (we have been living together in LOS for 7 years) qualify as an "unmarried partner"? Also, please, what is a "Settlement Visa"? Really, I am not trying to circumnavigate anything. Because for health reasons I cannot stay in LOS and am just trying to find a legal way she and I can be together in England.

  7. I think in most areas when the curfew was in force there were little or no arrests for curfew violations but people were subject to "Stop & Search" which often lead to arrests for other wrong doings.

But yes in reply to the OP's question, no problem at this time, but do keep an eye on the situation especially if there is any unrest as this could lead to a crackdown and re imposing of the curfew.

    Thanks Basil B.

  8. They are all compromised, everytime when i withdraw money i get an SMS that my bankbalance is lower. Why's that?

I think this is a wind-up, but I'll comment anyway. Fairly quickly I get a text from my bank every time I withdraw money from an ATM or use my credit card.

  9. A BPH clinic opened on Soi Khao Noi a few months back.

I believe it is part of a community support service sponsored by BPH. I understand that a number of these clinics are due to be located in outlying areas of Pattaya. Whether there is an element of subsidising the patient costs I can't comment, but unlikely.

It appears to offer the normal clinic related services with any major issues needing to be dealt with by BPH / other hospitals.

Possibly the advantage to BPH is that this may be used by them as a form of feeder service with referrals being directed to them rather than other hospitals - for those that can pay!!

    Do they do vision test?
