  1. Right, the taxi and tuk-tuk drivers probably learned their pricing tactics from the government. How can they be condemned for charging foreigners higher prices when government-run places do the same? There's no consideration for resident taxpayers. Getting into a national park or other venue with my Thai ID card or driving license is harder than convincing a Bangkok taxi driver to use his meter
  2. How is a UK pension not paid from the UK. Sounds like the Pensions dept are sending pension money to Thailand using an intermediary bank in which case your pension is still coming from the UK.
  3. When we die can matter more. Living past 75 can trigger taxes on any leftover pension, essentially creating a tax on living 'too long
  4. If you stay in Thailand for 6 months or more you will become a resident in that tax year
  5. And does he think the tax dept wants to process 10s of thousands of TIN registrations where no tax is payable.
  6. Exactly! Anything the Thais don't usually eat or drink is loaded with high tariffs. Thais drink Whisky but not wine, so a bottle of whisky is cheaper than a half-decent bottle of wine.
  7. Actually they have. Thailand joined the CRS last year
  8. I tried to pay my PWA water bill online and got a message its overdue, then saying its too late to pay ๐Ÿ˜• Only in Thailand
