  1. Hi,

Call TOT service center. The number is 1100, then dial 9 for English. I'm living in a small village in the center of Thailand and have been with TOT for five years now. First dial-up, then satellite (a disaster) and now ADSL 4 mb. Effective speed 3.5m mb, all the time. I am extremely happy with TOT, their customer service is second to none and complaints are addressed almost immediately.

    Good luck!

  2. Try RarmaRadio and/or Winamp. RarmaRadio is a stand-alone application which even allows you to record the station selected in several audio formats. Truly awesome. Winamp does the same, after you install a free open source plugin called streamripper. Google for this plugin.

Both applications are great and readily available via several "torrents"

    Hope this helps!

  3. Hi All,

I'm about to buy a beautiful Yamaha XJR 400, 1998, in mint condition. Registration plus green book. Prior to buying I'd like to have it checked and serviced by a qualified Yamaha repair shop in Bangkok. Preferably a shop that knows the XJR 400 inside out and stocks spare parts as well.

Am I asking for the impossible? If not, any help/info/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot!

    Rudy

  4. Cisco Network Magic Pro takes ALL the hassle out of your home networking environment. I recently came across this state-of-the-art software and only wish I had installed it years ago. For more info please go to the Cisco home page.

    Hope this helps. :)

  5. I agree with Richard Smith. We're probably some form of energy, which flows back to the source after death? For those of you who would like to know more and may be experiment a litlle(!), please check-out "The Gateway Experience" by Robert Monroe, the founder of the Monroe Institute and Hemi-Sync technology.

Robert Monroe was a pioneer in the field of Out of Body Experiences (OBEs). In 1958 he started having OBEs unexpectedly, which eventually inspired him to write three books on the subject, and create The Monroe Institute - an organization dedicated to researching human consciousness. The Monroe Institute has created a program based on Hemi-Sync technology, called The Gateway Experience (TGE). TGE is basically a set of 18 CDs that the user listens to while meditating. Its goal is to help the listener reach altered states of consciousness easier.

The 18 CDs are split into six "Waves". Each Wave has six exercises, each about 30-45 minutes long. The exercises are meant to be done in sequential order, because each exercise builds on the previous one.

The exercises use Hemi-Sync technology. How it works is one tone is played in your left ear, and a slightly different tone is played in your right ear. Your brain puts these two tones together to produce a vibrating tone in your head. This vibrating tone is said to help alter your brainwaves so you can hit different states of consciousness easier.

I am currently in the process of entering the Wave III exercises and so far the results have been truly staggering. My perennial sleeping problems have vanished and I am also able to totally relax whenever I desire to do so.

So far, I have not had an OBE experience but allegedly many others have, so I am not giving up hope!!

No need to buy the CD's, TGE is readily available from various torrent sites.

TGE affirmation begins as follows: "I am more than my physical body. Because I am more than physical matter I can perceive that which is greater than the physical world....etc."

I hope this information is useful to some of you! :)

  6. Would anyone suggest what is the best way to buy a car sat nav which works in BKK and the rest of Thailand, unless thisast bit is asking too much.

Do they have to be bought in Thailand, which I believe are not cheap, or can you buy in the uk and take over, would I then work ?

    Thanks in advance.

Please google global5thailand. I am not allowed to post web links.....

Address: 2013A 2nd floor, Robinson zone, Seacon Square in Bangkok. Tel: 02-721-9811, 02-748-2566, or mobile: 08-6612-5252. Look at their website for a location map.

These guys own the best GPS store in BKK. They store all major brands and the owners (five friends = global 5!) will take ample time in terms of demonstrating all available brands in Thailand. Their English is great as well, which helps a lot! Last year I purchased a KAMAZ NAAV 430. Kamaz is a German brand and a relative newcomer on the Thai market. I liked the German look-and feel of the Kamaz and the nice 4" touch screen. Another very handy feature is the built-in FM transmitter. This allows you to receive verbal guidance via your car radio and hands-free phone operation if your mobile has blue-tooth. Kamaz features the SpeedNavi SQ software and maps which are super. Last month hey came out which a new version called SpeedNavi SQ+, which is absolutely fabulous. They come out with major updates every year which you can download for free, once you've registered at their website. Please google speednavi!

I paid 17.900 Baht, but they have smaller, cheaper models as well. Also I strongly recommend that you buy a AR-50 Signal Radiator for 2390 Baht, which plugs into your cigarette lighter socket. This nifty little device amplifies the GPS signal INSIDE your car so that GPS reception is always optimal.

To make a long story short, thanks to Kamaz and Speednavi SQ+, driving in Thailand has become a pleasure instead of a chore!

    Hope this helps!

Gymware (www.gymware.com) is the best place to go. Ask for the owner called "Shaggy". He's an ex Body Builder and still in a great shape. Shaggy has a small shop and makes all the equipment himself, featuring a home line and a pro line. I bought my entire home gym there for 50K Baht. The bench you're looking for (adjustable, decline), including Olympic barbell and plates 40 kgs goes for about 16K Baht.

  8. And I can't even get my husband to get an ATM card :D

I know what you mean.I have over 800,000 Baht in the Thai bank

and an retirement income of over 140,000 Baht a month and I can not get one,

but my wife had one before we got married with an income of 4,000 Baht a month

and 2 children to house and feed. That really make sense.

My financial position is roughly the same as yours. I live in Thailand (retired) with my Thai wife for the last five years. We opened a JOINT bank account with the Siam Commercial Bank and we were both given ATM cards. The bank tried to foist two credit cards on us as well, but my wife declined...

I am extremely satisfied with the SCB: outstanding customer service. :o

  9. Hi there guys, I hope all is holding up well over there, I am back here in Australia watching from the sideline.
