I posted a similar post some days ago but I dont think I explained everything thoroughly enough, and it didnt bring many replies, so I thought i'd have a go at explaining everything again. I am a Swedish Jazz musician and experimentalist who has a great interest in regional culture, and who's got a special place in my heart for the Khaen. I recently came into contact with a man who owned a chromatic variant (i.e a custom made instrument with 2 octaves and all the 12 western notes), and I asked him where i could get one. He seemed helpful at first, but the communication ended up cold, and I am looking for an alternative source. I'd want the contact info for a Khaen maker who is willing and qualified to take on the task. I will tip well. Thanks!

That is fair enough. I could have, but I had some other contacts that looked promising and they went silent so I didnt think It was necessary. I also overstated the urgency, I have a contact there who is staying until next summer who is also viable, but It’s a big difference in time and I’m not sure I wanna wait that long. But if its not possible in this timeframe I can absolutely wait.

Hello! I am looking to get in touch with a Khaen maker. I have a dream of creating a Chromatic khaen variant (an instrument that has 2 octaves with all the 12 western notes on it). My grandparents are in Bangkok right now for 3 weeks, and can have it mailed to their place of stay and bring it on their plane home. I have been looking to purchase a Khaen instrument for a while now, which has turned out to be extremely difficult. Is there anyone on this forum that would like to help me in purchasing one? Preferrably with a case, if such exists... Maintenance products and such would be desired to be included as well, along with some tips on maintenance, and any risks (mold/rot and whatnot). I'm located in Sweden, the idea would be that some kind soul on this platform would go and purchase one, and send it to me via postal service.
