For a start it is random but viruses tend to get weaker and more infectious not the the other way round.. it's basic micro biology. Also you are aware right the first signs of a "deadly" mutation would be a huge rise in hospitaliaztion's and deaths. Not some lab announcing they found it.. by the time a variant is identified it's been in the wild for quite some time. The virus being is spread unconstrained all the time.. imposing restrictions is just a futile act.. and WHO agrees with me, they even said locking down boarders etc would not stop the spread ????

I've heard they make a tea out if and add soft drink to make it taste better. Some add cough syrup too as it's supposed to have some narcotic effect.. I've never fancied the stuff myself as it's supposed to have opiate effects at high doses which just isn't my thing.

It's been around way longer than when it was identified.. we would have already seen the uptake in hospitalisations. How if it's weaker would we see more hospitalisations even if it is more transmittable?? You don't make sense.. Also I am vaccinated multiple times.. when you gonna leave me alone?

WHO estimates that flu kills 290,000 to 650,000 people a year and causes 9 - 41 million illnesses. Something that kills with a average age of 83 is not a pandemic. If your that scared why don't you go back in your hole and let the rest of us get on with it. I've complied with everything.. had all my jabs etc but enough is enough now. There are lots of things that kill more people but we have tunnel vision on covid, all common sense is out the window and replaced with fear.

Exactly it didn't just appear when they found it.. now they are actively looking for it ofc the are going to find it. Renders infection numbers kind of redundant as it could already be close to being the new dominant strain.

Problem with it too soon is that because it's already spread it would indicate it's been around longer than before it was identified. Longer than the couple weeks needed to gather data, so surely if was more deadly than the delta we would of already seen a huge rise ppl admitted to hospital.

But do we lockdown and impose restrictions yearly for the flu? Covid death rates are already at the same levels as flu thanks to vaccines, shouldnt we be living with it like flu now? Statistically your at more risk jumping on a motorbike taxi ???? How long are we going to keep going in circles... Just like flu this will never disappear its here forever.

Makes more sense than what's being told to us in the UK at the moment. Wait for data on one hand but have pretty much decided already with no evidence the vaccine isnt as effective. Solution... Take another dose of the vaccine we just told you isnt effective. ???? I'm not anti Vax etc but this will be 3 jabs in less than 6 months for me now.. it's wearing thin

If you enter Thailand on visa exempt and leave on the day after the printed admitted until date via the airport, is it true they will just waive the fee and not put a overstay stamp in your passport? I don't plan on ever overstaying but someone told me this today and it doesnt seem right to me, I thought that they only waived it if for example your admitted unit date is say 30th Oct and you have a red eye flight in the early hours of the 31st Oct.

Provided all this goes ahead from the way that's worded to me it does seem to suggest that ATK will be done in the airport on arrival. I believe it's what's Cambodia is doing also..

555 can't please most on here, was only a few weeks ago ppl where saying they should do this.. scrap PCR and hotel for a quick ATK now a lot seem to be moaning. ???? New variant or not things need to open up, if you think we can just wait out the storm you will be waiting forever... It's time to learn how to dance in the rain. Thanks I should be good on this one but will be for sure the last trip on it, I did wonder about the turn around time for the renewals tho as it said online like 2 months at the moment.. 2 weeks is much better. I'm gonna get a extension in Feb and go from there. Will still have over 6 months then on it if then if my passport is good til the printed expiry.

You know I think you are right after some looking around I notice all the official stuff says for travel to Europe from UK, it's articles from other sources that don't mention this that had me concerned/confused about it.

Anyone had any problems with a older UK red passport... I have extra months on mine that are no longer valid (Brexit) and now the printed expiry date is not when it actually expires. It's still valid and has enough months for entry to Thailand etc under current UK gov regulations, is this going to get my tp rejected? Also for anyone who has traveled with a old style passport with extra months like mine, what are you entering for booking info etc for flights?? The date as printed or the new date?? For anyone unfamiliar in the UK passports have been changed to be valid for 10 years only, previously if you renewed early you got extra months. Not anymore ???? A passport issued say Jan 1 2012 with a expiry of Oct 1 2022 is still valid but actually expires Jan 1 2022 ????

Hearing similar but can't blame ppl for thinking it's all nonsense.. Ndtvi just did a live stream on it though and according to them it looks like it could happen... Something about the bars being reastraunts now, but by name only... Gotta have white lights on and no live music etc. Also socially distancing. ????‍♂️ Who knows at this point.. I agree with most that they should just scrap this TP and just require Vax cert and pre covid test, those that are considering Cambodia have you looked into what happens if you get flagged up as result of the antigen test??.. think the result would be similar to that in Thailand.. hospital/quarantine etc no where is perfect right now. Not to offend anyone but I can't but help think that the average age of the applicants for the TP is half the issue, a lot of older ppl with minimal computer skills... Whilst those reporting it was easy etc are likely younger and/or are regular computer users.

Hi all not really sure if this is the correct place for this post but is anyone familiar with the refund process from qatar airways flexible tickets? I had a issue during checkout which resulted in me buying two return tickets for the same flights to Thailand in Jan, I've cancelled one booking and got confirmation that its cancelled and they will refund me 500.. Has anyone refunded their ticket recently and have a idea of when I should get my money back?. Its upset my current plans and means money will be a bit tight now til I fly unless I get that refund ????

Strange certain hotels must be doing their own thing, I know for a fact the one I booked is a private transfer and I saw others stating this but this was Bangkok and Pattaya. Phuket they seem to do their own thing so that could explain it if you are booked there. Easy solution for you is to just be awkward.. refuse to get in the van with somone else. You have good reason not too and I'm pretty sure they shouldn't be doing it, i can't remember the exact term I read (had a few singha's ????) but it was something like bio secure which is a private taxi with a bit of plastic between you and the driver.

They don't as you prob haven't tested positive to end up in hotel quarantine.. so I assume you are referring to cases of close contact. The case in Richards newsletter was about a guy and his friend who got the same taxi and his friend tested positive, for this to happen they must have been considered in the same "party" you pay for private transfer they won't put a stranger in the same taxi as you. There haven't been any reports yet from ppl that where on the same plane etc.. all the ones ppl quote relate to the Phuket sandbox and are dated months ago. I also noticed when booking the SHA+ hotel it said 5000 baht for the test and go package and it tiny writing next to it "1500 per extra day"... The Swedish guy with a 350,000 baht bill doesn't even know if indeed that is his bill yet as insurance will likely cover it and its also not just his bill but also for his family.
