  1. Already expressed my concerns with the PCR test on arrival being a gamble due to false positives etc, saying that tho they do give you a list of things that you shouldn't do up to 30 mins before taking it so you don't spoil the test... Maybe he was positive before he departed. Not heard anything recent about close contact on the plane but the guy that shared the taxi knew the other person and was in the same "party", they won't bundle you in a cab with a stranger.
  2. You read wrong.. it has to cover the whole period of your stay or visa length. Visa exemption is not a visa.. it's just a stamp that states you are exempt. Also day 1 of your policy starts when you clear immigration and ends when you leave, you are covered on that last day. If you buy a 10 day policy and you land in Thailand on the 1st it will end on the 10th (10 days like you paid for) if it was invalid on the 10th e.i ended 12am on the 9th that would only be 9 days coverage.
  3. Completely understand mate... Be sure to check with your airline if they require one when leaving also, even though you are not required to have one returning to the UK alot of the airline's do as well the airports you transit through. Singapore for example... Hope all goes well
  4. Policy just needs to cover your period in Thailand start date should be the day you arrive and end date the day of your return flight.
  5. Anyone doing sandbox that second test is just a atk test you do yourself and show to the hotel.. initially I saw them being advertised as part of the test and go packages but most don't mention them now. Atk test kits are pretty cheap so I assume if you was to worried about testing positive on day 6 you could do a few tests and show them the result that suits you.
  6. They certainly will mate.. maybe not some NA insurance company as you have found out but the Thai based ones state asymptomatic coverage
  7. Fair enough 555 I hope you get it mate and not have to take a gamble. Already gambling when it comes to the PCR test they are far from perfect. Good luck
  8. In this case they ain't making a mistake.. they are doing their jobs correctly. Surprised you are still applying thought you was happy with your AQ one ????
  9. Fair point but I'm a young man with hardly two pennies to rub together ????
  10. The way I understood it was if you test positive you are given a second test (free) to confirm, If that one test positive you are off to hospital for 14 days.. paid for by insurance with asymptomatic cover or you can stay at a AQ hotel for the 14 days at your own cost. I'm not 100% tho just what a read on another site.. could be off to the hospital with one positive ????‍♂️
  11. SHA+ is fine lots offering pick up atleast for exemption from quarantine From the official FAQ on TP website: 9. What are AQ and SHA+ hotels? - AQ hotels are the hotels eligible to be used as quarantine sites under the AQ scheme as well as designated venues to wait for your RT-PCR result under the Exemption from Quarantine scheme. - SHA+ hotels / accommodations are hotels that meet the “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration” standards and are eligible to be used as hotels under the Sandbox Programme and as venues to wait for your RT-PCR result under the Exemption from Quarantine scheme.
  12. I'm not telling anyone to cancel anything.. if you fly out in a few days crack on do what you have to do BUT if you have say 3 weeks still before you fly maybe fill out the TP correctly and wait the 7 days before panicking and applying via AQ. I get where you are coming from but it's really isn't helpful and could land some ppl in trouble IF they are only traveling for a week or two. It's Thailand too.. last week isn't this week
  13. I'm glad ppl are getting their QR codes but other posters having concerns over picking AQ are warranted... You click a box agreeing to 10 days quarantine. This is fine if you can afford to book one there and then at the gates but some can't.. even if the money isn't a issue you have the hope they have bookings available. Half expecting a bunch of threads from ppl where turned away in a few weeks...
  14. Thanks for clearing this up much appreciated. Actually made sense to me once you laid it out like that.. the way I was thinking IE the policy ending at 12am on the 30th would only be 29 days so ofc a 30 day policy would cover me on the 31st.. ????
  15. Hi all, So not first time visiting thialand but my first time whilst covid measures are in place, in the past I never bothered with insurance (yes yes I know.. kinda dumb but luckily I've never needed it). Current entry requirements say I need insurance to cover the period of my stay and I am slightly confused when it comes to the end date of my policy. For example if I was to land in Thailand on the 2nd of January I would receive a visa exempt stamp saying admitted 2 January until 31 January (30 days) which is the day I intend to leave. So obviously the start date of the policy should be the 2nd the but what about end date? Should I put the end date as 31 jan or the 1st of Feb? Am I covered on the 31st or does it end midnight on the 30th? Insurance is with AXA Thailand if that helps. Also when returning I've checked and I'm not required to have a PCR test before flying to back to my home country and not required by the airport I will be transiting through either but what about Bangkok? Will I have to do a PCR test before they will let me get on my return flight at swampy? Thanks to anyone that takes the time to help me.
