  1. They don't own any "assets". They pay rent to Thai landlords. The problem is i doubt they own any assets in the UK. They won't be able to most likely afford to rent a one bedroom bedsit. UK landlords don't accept "crypto".
  2. That may well all be very true but Nick Dean isn't forcing anyone to do anything they don't want to. The girls have been contacting him and other bar owners, wanting to comeback and work. Supply will always meet demand. A number of these bar owners provided food and a roof over the heads of their staff during the pandemic. Many helped feed the needy in Pattaya. I always wonder what our more virtue signaling posters did for the Thai people during the pandemic. The largest vice trade is Thai to Thai.
  3. The "i'm alright jack' brigade haven't understood how this all works from the beginning of the pandemic. First of all, it was great there was no tourists and they had all the girls and the place to themselves. Then businesses started to close temporarily and girls left town to go home. Then businesses closed permanently and girls got other jobs. Then Soi Made In Thailand got bought and levelled, then all the other desolate beer bar complexes get bought and levelled. Then the infrastructure starts falling apart. Then those expats that can go home, do go home. The ones that have burned their bridges and are stuck in Thailand jump on internet forums and say it's business as usual.
  4. Your tested on arrival, quarantined for one night and taken to hospital if you, or the people near you on your flight, test positive. That's why nobody is coming to Thailand. Newsflash!!!! Nightlife not officially opening until (possibly) 15th January. Newsflash!!!! Many people cancel or postpone their trip.
  5. As obvious as the nose on your face. Only people who can't see it are the resident Thai huggers on the forum. Thailand is going to pursue a very aggressive near zero approach to Covid.
  6. Sorry. It's impossible to take any figures seriously in a country that does virtually zero active testing and doesn't publish it's figures. Feel sorry for businesses that another high season is going to be lost. Looks like one contributor's forecast of a 70% vaccination rate by December and everything opening for high season has turned out to be total and utter nonsense. You would think such an individual would keep a lower profile than keep digging a deeper hole for himself on a daily basis. Gives us something to laugh at though.
  7. Your obviously not the sharpest tool in the box because this forum is an exchange of views on Thailand past and present. For many of us that know Thailand well, we are expressing a frustration about the authorities ability to mess up everything from vaccine procurement, vaccine roll out and the unnecessary admin and possible forced incarceration if we wish to return. You may see Thailand as a perfect utopia devoid of any faults. Most don't. However, i am happy to leave you in your blissful ignorance.
  8. Airlines have given up 80% of their landing slots until Q2 2022 at the earliest. That's the only figure that matters.
  9. You must know different bar owners than i do. I suggest you watch Nick Dean's last YouTube video. I thought the guy was going to breakdown on camera. Bryan Flowers owns 26 bars and looks like a train wreck. No doubt all an act by the "little" guys who could be seeing their livelihoods going down the pan. Retox was a well run and popular sports bar, yet the owners tried to get out months ago. Reduced the selling price a few weeks ago but no takers. Say's it all about what people think of the future of Pattaya when a business of this quality can't even get a buyer. Of course, if you mean the money launders around Pattaya "disposing" of money, then i guess they don't care. Even that trade will come to an end when they find a better return elsewhere.
  10. Very few are going to come that don't have long term connections to Thailand. https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/pattaya-has-2500-foreign-visitors-and-counting-379139 Yesterday's announcement about entertainment not reopening until mid January ensured another round of cancellations. So much for the high season the deluded optimists forecast.
  11. Watch Nick Dean's latest YouTube video. I thought he was going to break down during his update. People were leaving messages in the chat saying they had cancelled or postponed their Thailand trips. One of his biggest supporters sent a message saying that he wouldn't be coming to Thailand if he couldn't get a drink at one of Nick's bars. Many of these bar owners helped feed Thai's during the lockdown and the thanks they get is being drummed out of business.
